Finally a new expansion pack! It comes out September 24.You can gets pets(birds, dogs, cats, reptiles etc...). You can get these by visiting a petstore. There are also five new career tracks which are education, circus, fasion, vetinarian, and cooking. You can go to a cafe, a garden store, a farmer's market, a pet store(as mentioned above), a park and new shops. You can buy seeds in the garden store and plant a plot in your backyard. If you bring in a good crop, you can sell them at the farmer's market. I can't wait to try this. For more info you can go to thesims.com. See ya in September!

What's been missing in your Sims' family life? Pets of course! For the first time ever, The Sims Unleashed will give your Sims the chance to add a furry friend to the family. Visit the pet store to pick a dog or cat for your Sims. Then run their pet lives and fulfill their pet needs as you increase the fun and social life of the whole Sim household. Housebreak your pets; train them to do tricks; play with them; buy them toys, treats, and accessories; and do your best to keep them from destroying the whole house! Your Sims will have plenty to do while taking care of their pets. An expanded neighborhood with 15 additional residential lots and five community lots featuring parks, cafés, and a vegetable market will give your Sims and their pets a variety of places to meet their neighbors.Add a pet to your Sims family: visit the pet store and adopt a dog, a cat or another pet
Expanded neighborhood with 15 new residential lots and five community lots featuring parks, a cafe, shops and market
Fifty new jobs in five new careers: Animal Care, Culinary, Circus, Fashion, or Education
150 new objects: grow a harvest of vegetables in the Vegetable Garden or get soaked trying to wash your pet in the Pet Bath

STAY AWAY FROM THIS VERSION!!

We have every single release. This last one, Sims Unleashed won't even launch. It dumps you out to the desktop before the game can even start. I even did a full re-installation of Windows XP thinking it would fix it. NOT! The other versions were fine. This one is poorly supported. The website lacks support for this problem that everyone seems to have. I'm running AMD 2000, 384mb Ram, GEforce MX400, and WinXP Pro. I'm removing this...from my machine and leaving in the other versions. And please don't tell me I'm lacking in skills, I'm an MCSE and A+ certified technician and not even I could get it running.

What do you want to do with your sims?

It depends on what you want to do with your sims as to whether you will like this expansion pack. There are new items which is great, new floors and walls. The garden factor is a little hard since animals immediately start tearing your garden to pieces and you have to buy a cat or two to get rid of the rabbits, then you get mice which the cats will sometimes hunt and sometimes not. I have preferred to not plant a garden - too much trouble.

There are some new houses and more lots - this is a great feature of the expansion pack. Most of the animals are good, except they require lots of work on the part of your sim. If you have lazy sims like I like to have, this is an added responsibility.

I am sooooo excited about the new game! It looks like the best yet. I have always wanted to have pets and also there are 5 new career tracks(cooking, circus, education and two more I forgot). I never really was into other exspation packs before I got them, but I am totally psyced about this one. I have a Mac, so I won't be getting this game until Jan. probably, but I am still very excited.

A Little dissapointing

i think that i agree with all the other reviewers when i say that i was dissapointed. it's exciting now to have pets in my house, but everything else is a dissapointmen....

PROS:
-cute little furry pets running through the house
- the garden is fun too, because you can sell the stuff
for a Ton of cash
- they have a phone directory book to contact your
friends which makes your life SOO much eisier.

CONS:
- NO NEW OBJECTS....sure there's a litter box, and beds
for the pets, but other than that there is absolutly
nothing else there....i was so dissapointed when i
found nothing else
- YOU NEED YOUR WHOLE FAMILY IN ORDER TO GO TO THE OLD
TOWN...i had a completely different idea of going
to the old town..
- the pets have there own screen/picture thing, along
with the rest of the members, BUT you cannot control
them at all, not to mention that it is difficult to
make friends with your pet

i've only played with UNLEASED about 8 times, so i cant think of any more cons at the moment.. if you ask if im angry i bought the game, i would say no, because i do like having pets in the house....am i disappointed? well yes...i expected more stuff..you would think after the dissapointment that i got from Vacation, they would have more time to think up of new things...i forgot to mention that UNLEASHED takes up a whole gigabite of your hard-drive, so make sure that when you buy it, you have the space... lets all hope that the next expansion pack (after stupid simsonline comes out) is well thought out, and a pleasure to play =)

Probably the worst of the expansion packs

Don't get me wrong! I love the Sims! It's probably my favorite PC game of all time. I just personally felt that this expansion pack just added the pet aspect, but it was hard to control both your Sims needs and your Pets needs. I bought it, and tried it out, but ultimately I went back to the previous pack. With the Sims 2 due out this year, it's pretty much a waste to pick this up so late in the game. You would do better to just wait and get the new Sims.

Fun in some ways

I got this game for Xmas, since I have nearly all execpt Vacation. The new jobs are a plus and the items, yet the friendship factor for advancing is hard. I can get to level 4 and than need more friends, which is always harder since they added this new bar of relationsip below the orginal. ... I must agree with the racoon problem that others have stated, it is annoying. I love cats and dogs, it get's me a little yucky though when a male or female talks cutey to a stray dog having it roll to get a belly rub.
Walls, floors and such are better, you can use some of the downtown art obects in your own yard. What Maxis needs to do is add alot more jobs to choose from. Sims need to get older and get other illnesses than the gueina pig one, maybe like cancer or something. Weather should also influence a Sim's life; tornadoes, blizzards and such. All in all the game is good for a few weeks, and soon it just gets tiresome.
