When I first purchased this game I thought it would be more than it really was. First the good things, while it's obvious that you get pets you will soon get tired of feeding Fido. Some of the new objects are pretty cool, but most aren't. I thought that the load time takes too long!
I would not recommend this game at all! Don't waste your money on it!!(..)

The Sims. What can anyone say that has not been said a thousand times before? I have the entire set and recommend it highly. I (40) have liked this game since it came into being. My Daughter (18) has also. My son (10) has for the last year been a fan.
I like all the different ways you can play. For me, it's the building and designing part. I just like to build new places and let them move in. Odd I know, but that's what I like.
If you are new to The Sims, Do yourself a favor.. buy them all and just get started.
A Must!!!

I know there have been previous releases of the Sims that have turn out to be useless [stuff] that you didn't really need. Well, this expansion pack is a must. You can have animals, and my favorite part, your neighborhood becomes much bigger. There are shops in your neighborhood you can go to, without having to go downtown. The expansion pack is big. If you have previous installments of other expansion packs, then maybe you should increase your ram to 128MB. The only noticeable accessory that actually made me happy is the "spiral stairs." I'm not big on accessory. Just get on the internet and download something. Overall, I think this game will be a cherished addition.
This is an OK expansion pack

I love the SIMS and I own all of the expansion packs and most of the games. I think this is not one of there better expansion packs though. The pets are real fun but they are quite confusing. I think that most people would enjoy this expansion pack though. It has awsome new neighborhoods and more houses and the downtown area in combined with the neighborhood.
This game is great!

I love this game. And I highly recommend it. I love the fact that the Sims can have pets. Plus you can plant gardens.
For the pets you can get cats, dogs, fish, and more. Then for then cats and dogs you can get them toys, treats, and more. They can even protect your garden from gophers and rabbets. They also get rid of unwanted animals, like skunks and racoons.
The gardens are cool to. You get to plant the garden and get food to eat. I like getting tomatoes because you can get about 5 every day from each plant but the lettuce and carrots you have to keep planting after you pick them.
So if youe aren't sure if you want it or not, I would suggest you get it. If you like the Sims, you'll love this game
Better then a great game if you have a good amout of RAM.

If you have a fair amout of RAM and/or memory well just read the system requirements.
Here's a List of some cool stuff in this game Note Only Some!
1: Pets Thats right PETS. Dog: You need to house train this but the fun thing about this is that you can train them to go in the wrong place and not in the right place!
There tricks are typical un-like the Cat (Look down).
They are the cutes things but some of them are not that smart.
I lot of them are though.
Cat: They are soooooo cute! My faverit is the Manx because they can win pet shows easily.
There tricks are sooo funny like you can train them to go Boxing or play the piano (Very High Level)!
Other: There are birds fish turtles etc.
Make sure you feed them but don't over feed them!
2: If you have any big proplems you can install a nother exp pack like Superstar and it mite be fixed if this does not fix i or you do not wan't to wait 'till Superstar comes out then there's a lot of Maxis teck help like the Teck chat!
3: New Careers each with I think 50 jobs!
4: Do you hate not beeing able to place a flower on the table with-out blocking your sims from eating?
Well now you can!
You can even pick were on the table by pressing the / key and you can do this with more then tables!!!
5: Gardening more then flowers and the other stuff with the sims and exp but you can garden vegtables and eat them sell them and a secret in them that you have to find!!!
6: New Sim on Sim interactions that come with Hot Date and/or Vacation but the Sim on Pet Pet on Sim Pet on pet interactins are new and some even entertaining!
...
Pleased after the Vacation disappointment

I like this expansion pack. I love the gardening option. Of course, everyone was begging for pets, and we got 'em! Lots of them. The only downfall is the homes seem to become a zoo for neighbors pets and strays. My carpool gets stuck in the road for an hour waiting for the animals to move off the road. All in all this is 100% better than Vacation.

Unleashed has made life for the sims much easier. The animals fill their social needs so easy with just a little bit of love to a cat or dog or both.
Will Wright is milkin' the money cow.

I can't even keep count of all the expansions that there are for the Sims! With this expansion, the count comes to 5! 5! If you pay [price] for all of these it's a grand total of [price], and adding the [price] that you payed for the Sims it's [price] smackers! Now look, if you reeeeally need MORE carpeting, walls, wallpapering, objects, pets(must admit kind of cool), places(you can go to a farmer's market), possibly actions ect. You have to ask yourself "Self, do I want, nay, can I AFFORD this game for all that it gives me?" Think of insted what you can go with [price] dollars...um...okay never mind.
Point being the graphics are NOT better, it takes up MORE RAM and hard drive space, when you're still playing the same game that has more doodads, and things to do. All and all it's just a C.D. that has more flashing light and whistles for an already fine game. Here, I'll measure it for you,
Pros More objects
Pets
More places to go(i.e. Farmers market)
new actions
Cons
moderatly expensive
lost hard drive space
same-old graphics
same gameplay
more RAM spaced required
The thought that another one of these
things will come out
Basically a souped up HOT DATE
Buying this will send a message that we
still want more expansions rather than than
a squel.(sorry don't know how to spell it)
There you go a pro and con table.
Really though it's really you're decision whetheror not you want to buy it. I'm just here to give you some advice.
even though you don't know me.
It was fun- until I tried to re-install it

I loved this expansion pack, but when I unsuccessfully tried to install the Sims Mega Deluxe after uninstalling this (you have to install the expansion packs in a certain order), it simply won't re-install. It's been driving me mad, I'm getting very frustrated with it...and I wish that it would work already, because this is a great game and I know I'm missing out on it. :(
