I heard about this on simsstash. In this game there are a whole lot of stuff. It includes the sims2, the Sims 2 BodyShop, this tool allows you to create and customize almost any part of a that can be used to build a Sim; film-making 101; Sims 2 cinema; Sims 2 Outtakes; making of the game interviews; digital goodies, the entire collection of Sims 2 wallpapers to decorate your desktop, instant messaging kit & your own fansite kit to create your own website; movies and screen shots of the game; and the sims 2 mini-games. You can do and see all of this on the sims 2 dvd for the same price and it comes out the same day. Plus there is a seporate cd for the sims 2 and the sims 2 bodyshop.
Better than the original

The Sims 2 has all the good stuff from sims 1 and a ton of new/better stuff. The 3D looks great and the gameplay is very nice.
As far as performance on a P4 3.0Ghz, 2GB RAM, ATI 9800xt 258MB, Windows XP sp2 it runs perfectly. The body shop takes longer to load than the game and the game loads quickly for me. On my brother's P3 866Mhz, 384MB RAM, ATI 9200 128MB, Windows Millenium, CD-ROM version it runs well just a little slower and not quite as pretty.
If you loved Sims 1 you'll love this one twice as much :)

I have to say that after all that hype about the sims2 I was practically bursting with excitement when I recieved the game. For potential buyers, I must warn you in advance, make sure that you have way beyond the minumum requirements or you will suffer painfully like I have. I am in the process of getting a new graphic card because I simply can't stand playing on my mom's laptop(the only computer it works on, out of 5 computers), as most people can back up it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to load the house, or any loading page for that matter. And the gameplay itself is crazy, 10 minutes to walk to the kichen. Many of you are having great times playing the Sims2 because your computers are brand new and advanced, whilst the majority of us will have to go through the sims in slow motion.
Don't get me wrong though, what I have managed to play is brilliant! With a huge neighbourhood area and background stories for each place, plus the create a sim area is so much fun and I could spend hours simply creating the families. My favourite part is how all the sims seem to know that there are other sims around, my one sim looked up from his newpaper as his wife walked past him and smiled. I am upset at how quickly the aging goes but I can't say that it is a con. Building is absolutely amasing and the amount of content will tickle any happy builder pink. The aspirations add a whole new level to the game and make it somewhat challenging to keep their needs, wants and fears in tact. Little things they added such as the cool music and special interactions such as read bedtime story and email are so great. Really this game is worth it, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the majority of people will not manage to play the game to its full potential and I think Maxis should have perhaps warned us about such lagging.
just got it today

i just got this game, not from here obviously...but i've been playing it for the last 6 hours now. you might as well uninstall your original sims and it's expasion packs now because when you play this game, you're not going to look back. at the risk of sounding lame, it's the bomb-diggity. this is one of the best sequels to a game that i've ever played. you'll see exactly what i mean when it's released on tuesday, maybe monday in some stores. the very nature of the game is much more detailed, if you thought you had a lot of decisions and personal control over the original sims, wait until you see this. the possibilities with the sims 2 are literally endless. there's nothing better than creating a pretend life on my computer to help me forget about how lame my real life is......*sigh*....oh - yes, you need lots of ram (at least 256 megs) and a good video card to fully enjoy this game. please quit griping about having to upgrade to play it...you're going to have to do it sooner or later, and frankly, if you need to upgrade to play this game then you've been putting it off a little too long.

I have been waiting for the release of this game since last summer, and I have been an avid reader of all of the sims2 articles, and photos.
In the Sims2, you will be able to take your funiture and have the same piece in different colors. This means that there are thousands of new furnature pieces. You could even have a house with the same basic roomm used with different colored furnature, and new carpeting and rugs. There will be all sorts of new furnature along with old furnature (don't worry, they are keeping a lot of the good stuff, like the vibrating bed).
Also, you can descide the apperance of your sims. They can be a pale skinny thing with a red dress, or tall, dark, and handsome with a pair of jeans and a tee shirt. Maxis has even released something so that you can create additional clothes for your sims.
This looks to be a great sequel to one of the greatest games.

For some strange reason, Maxis requires you to give full Admininstrator privileges to all accounts who should be able to play this game on Windows XP Pro.
If you have private data on your machine or you just don't want your kids to be able to read all your Quicken account information, this is just unacceptable.

If you've been playing The Sims since it first came out, or you've always been a Maxis fanatic, do not pass this. From the many other reviews and Web site previews, you've had the mere opportunity to see how this new edition is. It's not much different, you think. Wrong, it's different, not by much, but it's a new world Maxis brings you. We don't know if there will even be expansion packs for this, but no matter, the future will come.
Apart from what Amazon gives details on (the whole new three-dimensional thing and having DNA), The Sims 2 seems to features a completely different building mode. Instead of the not-enough or too-much two stories, now you have can have three. You can build your homes on hills as well, it's clearly visible.
The live mode is impressive; the ability to prevent aging is always a bonus. It may sound/seem complicated, if you don't want to deal with them aging or collecting various memories, but in the end, it'll help you and your Sims. Plus, you get to make your own items for The Sims 2.
I had to give it four stars (even though I don't even have the game) because I'm afraid that it might also have a slow start-up like the most of The Sims E.P.s has. I've also heard that The Sims 2 might not have household pets like Unleashed offers, and I noticed many people were looking foward to that (just a rumour, can't prove it yet). I've also realised that the game needs specific video/graphic cards and not everyone has the same.
Have your teenage daughter babysit your newborn son while you and your spouse take a night in the hot-tub. Or maybe your grandmother wants to get her groove on with that cranky, old neighbor of yours.
Not worth the money or the effort

Check your system specs before buying this game... Otherwise you'll end up just like me: With the game collecting dust in my desk, because it crashes too often. I wouldn't complain if my machine didn't meet the sist requirements... But this isn't the case.
Syst requirements/My comp
Intel Pentium III OR Athlon/Pentium 4
256 MB of Ram/512 RAM
3.5 GB HD space/160 GB
32 MB Video Card/128 MB Nvidia Gforce 4 card
I can play it for a small while, maybe 30-35 minutes, but then the game locks up. What's worse, since I bought my computer at Emachines, it doesn't have a restart button, so I have to disconect the electricity and then turn it on again. I don't play it anymore, disconecting it so frequently could damage it.
May I add that the game has 4 CD's (And you still need one to run the game, which makes no sense) but it doesn't come in a jewel case. Instead they come in this small slot in the tiny box. So if you don't treat it like porcelain the CD's will break, which is what happened to me. I downloaded a no-CD-patch... but I still don't use it.
If you have a really good computer... buy it. Just remember to treat the box well, and save the game every time you do something important.
Great Fun

The game is wonderful. I love the creativity it involves. I really enjoyed the first sims also. I find that having aspirations in life and being able to age is a nice addition to this game. Also the building options have increased so you can really get a more realistic fantasy home.
I don't like all the expansion packs that have to be purchased. You don't necessarily have to buy them but they add a lot to the game.
Also the crazy requirements put a damper on the game. It takes up a huge amount of space on you hard drive. Make sure you have a powerful graphics card or you'll get booted out of your game all the time.
The Sims is extremely addictive, so be careful or you'll end up living your sims instead of taking care of your own life at times.

I really enjoy this game because it allows you to design houses and create lives for beautiful or ugly people. You get to "Woohoo" with different Sims which makes them pregnant and soon enough they have a baby!! Sims can also have twins....The only thing I don't understand is that everyone on The Sims 2 website has cars and cool garages to go with that but I don't know how to get a car or those garage doors. Does anybody know??? PLease HELP!
