I have never had more issues with a company than with this one. First I but the game install and start to patch. The patch never finishes and it freezes half way through. I call tech support and after 5 days, a new copy, and 5 to short phone calls. I get the basic oh well to bad doesn?t work. Second they charged my account even though I have only had the game for less than a week and the trial period was 25 days till over and when I called to get my money back I got the we will think about it line. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN. I hope this doesn't happen to you.

Too Late the War is Over!!!

Unfortunatly this game has been dominated by the Beta Players and guilds. UBI and WolfPack have given all the beta players a grossly unfair advantage. The object of the game is to build nations and guilds to conquer the other nations with siege and war.
The reality is the UBI left the game the same after the beta and allowed the Beta guilds to split up onto every server so they would not have fight each other and could easily dominate each server from the begining.

This game has been out for 1 month and all the serves have been completely over run with players who participated in the beta and have the game figured out. Most new cities are destroyed within days of creation so Nation building will only be possible except for those in the beta.

You will not be able to start your own city, start a guild or do much more than level characters and maybe pk each other for lack of anything else better to do.
This game is a complete waste of time, money and shipping effort if you buy.

Can you say absolute failure

Initial release of game is a complete failure. Nobody can even log-into the game or sign up an account. Regretfully I bought the game because they have been in beta for so long I figured it would be ready, but lol, no such luck. Remember how poor the initial stages of Anarchy Online were; well, this is just as bad. UBI-Soft will lose their shorts over this one.

A huge disappointment

I started playing Shadowbane on launch day. It had its problems but I figured hey, it's new, there will be some rough spots -- give it time and it will get better. I was wrong: the game has gotten progressively worse. Every patch that's supposed to fix things breaks more than it fixes. The developers have been struggling with a constant server-side lag problem and seem no closer to fixing it than they were two months ago. Many features listed in the manual were never actually implemented. Players' accounts get locked out for no apparent reason and they have to wait days or weeks for them to be fixed. There is now a huge problem with item and gold duping, which has wrecked the game economy. People are quitting in droves. UbiSoft has blocked access to the general discussion forum to non-players because players were posting complaints faster than the moderators could delete them, and the company has been insisting to everyone from reviewers to the Better Business Bureau that there are no problems. They responded to an excessive number of in-game trouble reports by severely limiting the ability to report problems. Player counts have dropped by 30-50% in the past month and the company's stonewalling, evasiveness, and flat-out lying is driving the remaining players away as fast as their subscriptions expire.

I waited a long time for Shadowbane. It was the game I'd dreamed of playing. It has some really ground-breaking concepts and some incredible ideas behind it, but the design is fatally flawed in a number of ways, the implementation is bug-ridden beyond belief, and the company doesn't seem to care if it actually has any customers.

In short, two thumbs and a big toe down.

When this game came out in beta I was having the time of my life. Sure there were crashes from time to time but it was fun. Once the game went "gold" and as time has progressed I've become less tolerant to the many bug exploits that happen during major battles. Not to mention other choice bugs and "features" that are most prevalent. I'm all for a good battle but when up against an opposing force that uses every tactic to "avoid" an outright battle....the point of the game seems to loose all meaning to me. From my experience and the server I was on your "ruling" guilds seem to be made up of the personality dysfunctional that live out their lives online so they can feel somehow victorious because they do not function in real life. Then of course you have the sheep that give in and follow the ruling leader rather then just try another game. I did wonder while in beta if the concept of this game would attract the type of person you didn't wish to spend hours of your free time "hanging out with".

A great concept, but HORRIBLE customer support.

The developers of the game simply don't have the knowledge to keep the game running and continue with the updates it desperatly needs.

The graphics engine is way out of date, using openGL. The graphics are poor, yet the lag is horrible and it gets worse with every patch.

The only compensation customers recieved for all the downtime and the problems was a free 3 days. My characters disappeared right before this "free time" began, so I couldn't play during the time I was compensated for the problems before.

When I got my characters back, I played for a few more weeks until he lag was unbearable, I noticed there was very little end game content. A seige once or twice a week is all you will every do after you reach high levels.

Uber guilds from beta dominate some of the servers. Server travel is a pain, you have to beg people for summons every time you want to go anywhere...

The game needs a lot of work. However, the devs never comment whenever they break something, they never give an ETA of when it will be fixed and they lock forum topics complaining about problems. They feel if they ignore their customers concerns, the concerns must really not exist. The customer support is non-existent.

This game has no future, save yourself a headache and don't buy it.

Shadowbane is a waste

I've played Shadowbane since beta. It's a game with great potential, but its developers and programmers strive to fail in every aspect possible.

Shadowbane has been on the open market for over 1 year and it still performs worse than some games that are in beta1. For example, the engine has been running on pure cpu power. The software engineers failed to utilize graphics cards or sound cards.

SB.EXE instant crash errors, line of sight errors, pathing that doesnt even pretend to work properly, severe class balance issues that should've been addressed in beta, siege warfare on player build cities is a joke and only just recently have they implimented any sort of modification to it, constant class changes that keep you continuously rerolling characters because when UBI swings the "nerf bat"... they swing it hard, CCR/CSR's that fly by the seat of their pants without any regard for the players, nearly a complete lack of customer support, map casting, gold duping, blaytont favortism by the "Featured Character" GM's at "FC events" that distributed "phat lewt" to a very small handful of people on multiple occassions.

They released an expansion pack for Shadowbane while the main program itself was filled with bugs. They've opened several new servers and migrated characteres over with promises of "new and exciting adventure"... then executed an expert "cut and paste" job.

The quality of the graphics are very, very sad.

This game, and everything associated with it, is a waste of time and money. I'm never buying anything that involves Ubi Soft or Wolfpack Studios again.

Not ready for Beta

When I first read the hype on this game I became excited. With so much to offer Shadowbane sounded like the next generation MMORPG. It's not. Shadowbane does not need to be released to beta to find problems. Lag, poor graphics and the horrid interface makes me wonder how it got to beta let alone a retail self. You will need a lot more then the recommended system for this game. Even with cable, 8x APG/128DDR and 2gig of ram, good luck. I get no lag playing DAOC even in RvR with Zerg's galore. Shadowbane is a step backward from current available games. If you can't take the game back like I did, don't buy it.

Not worth it if it was free

Don't know who paid people to come here and say this is a good game. Lag, lockups, crashing servers, rollbacks of lvls and loss of equipment and gold, and MORE, that I probably shouldn't say. I have been playing games since before pong and if anyone can call this even close to release ready, they are being paid. Please just read the game forums and see what the players are saying. Yes, a large % of the people like it and have ONLY a FEW problems, but do you want to buy and pay monthly for a CHANCE that you can play or that it will get better? Many better games already here to buy.

Waste of money and time

You can get around the lag issue by simply playing when the sever population is low (you will still need a high end computer and graphics card).

Yes, a new release will have bugs but the interface is terrible (the worst ever) and no patch is going fix this game. The graphics are a joke.

Any company that would release such a shabby product as Shadowbane has no pride and is only concerned about profits.

A lot of $$$ and time for a game that will never be able to live up to these 5 star compliments (ROFL).
