Sneaky Ninja Action and Plenty of Blood

I really enjoyed this game, because it makes you think before hacking and slashing at your enemies. As for the eye and ear candy, the sound effects add a lot to the overall feel of the game and the graphics are sharp.

The levels are fairly easy to pass, but difficult to master. Don't be surprised if you stay up late trying to get Master Ninja status. However, you can cheat (some codes don't need a game shark) but that's no fun. If I were to compare it to another game I'd say it is a cross between Metal Gear and Bushido Blade.

The only thing I really wanted from the game that it did NOT deliver was the ability to use the weapons of fallen enemies and the ability to choose more than two characters.

Warning: this game is not for little children. To be played by the 13+ crowd.

The stealth market is one that is hard to master, realistic, but fair AI is the hardest task. While tenchu is an all around good game, the AI could use a lot of work. If I am seen, I don't want to just be forgotten if a timer runs out, I want them to run to each guard spreading the word, I want them to have a lead on me, not just forget I existed. Other than this problem, Tenchu is an all around good first try at a stealth game, but it's not perfect.

Good game.

Tenchu. One of the best stealth games of the year. If you want to spy like a ninja, this is the game for you. Hide behind walls and climb the roofs of houses and sneak up on guards to kill them. Wow.

Become one with the NINJA..

Think of this game as Snake (from Metal Gear Solid) as a Ninja in feudal Japan.

This game was a lot of fun: sneaking up on your enemies, and doing it right so you can slice their throat open (oops, did I mention there's some blood here). There are a number of weapons as well as bombs/mines, rice, and throwing stars (& so on). Although it's a simple game: make your way through the level (killing and/or sneaking) until you find the boss, finish him off, next level, til you get to ultimate bad guy.. there is space to roam in this world. Don't think it's some ancient side scroller or anything like that... there's places to roam, though not as much as Zelda. And it gets quite difficult.

Also, you are graded, so to speak. If you are not spotted like a good little ninja, you are dubbed Grand Master Ninja. If you just hack your way through the bad guys like a blender, you are a THUG! Get the idea.. there's other gradations imbetween there...

For me, the particular characteristic that makes me remember this game fondly and laugh is the American voice acting. It is BAD. It is so goofy, and I don't know if they were trying to be serious, but it makes me laugh SOOO hard; something along the lines of 'what have you done!?you've killed my sister.. prepare to die... kinda thing. Definitely did not ruin the game in any way for me.. the story is fine & the game is good. Try it out.. Get it if you like this kind of genre. =^^=

Ninja stealth action taken to new heights....

If you ever wanted to pretend you were a ninja, this is the game to get. The graphics are top notch and second to none in it's class. Everything is rendered in realtime so the loadtimes are minimal. The voice acting is quite comical, the line that comes to mind is "you chose the wrong party to crash", in a bad japanese accent. The game is all about stealth, so you don't want to go in playing as if you were rambo. The only educational value in this game is the fact that it teaches you how to sneak up on people...what are you still doing reading this review??? Just buy the game......

Stalking doesn't get better than Tenchu

Tenchu: Stealth Assasins is one of those rare games that play like nothing else. Your ninja rope and ninja agility make you feel completely free to move about the large towns, cities, forests, caves, and other realistic locations in the game. The music is absolutely hauntingly Japanese, with appropriate but creepy sound effects to heighten tension. And no matter how many people tell you differently, this is not Metal Gear Solid in Japan. Metal Gear Solid was about stealth, Tenchu is about stalking. All of these add up to a zen-like feel as you carefully study the landscape, the retreat routes, and your soon-to-be-dead victim. It's just a lot of fun. The only potential caveat I can see in Tenchu is the somewhat slower gameplay. The exclusively arcade gamers will be turned off by the idea of having to think about killing your victims before running in with swords twinkling in the moonlight. Then again, I've known people to watch guards for as much as five minutes, and as little as three seconds. If that's too much time for you, that's too bad. Because, after all, this game is still a lot of fun.

this is a fun yet long-lasting game

my review of "Tenchu Stealth Assanins" is that its a great game to play. its a really fun game and it doesnt get boring. most games do after a while. but this game is different. it has a good story to it and theres actually a point to the game. some games, u just beat and thats the end. this game is able to play again because u can get all kinds of different ranks for how u play. kinda like golden eye for n64, but a lot more fun.

Good Game

Tenchu puts you into the world of fuedal Japan, where you play as either Rikimaru or Ayami, which are servants sent by there master to complete misssions for him. The game is great, setting you in 3-d environments, up against samuria, animals, and demons. But this is no run around and kill people type of game, you must complete your missions with stealth and cunning. But no game is perfect. Camera angles may get bad at times, most of the time in the heat of battle, and the voice acting could be better. Though having its problems, Tenchu is awesome. A must have for any action/adventure gamer
