This game is the best stealth game besides Metal Gear Solid. The playbility is solid, the fun factor is through the roof, the graphics are good, but most of all, this game is just enjoyable. If you are a fan of stealth games, ninja games, or are just in the mood for a great game, this game is definetly for you. Buy this game as soon as you can!!!!

The game Tenchu Stealth Assassins is one of the best ninja games ever. It is a very intense game and has extreme violence. There are ten intense levels, and two characters to chose from. One male and one female. There are many weapons you can choose from such as a grappling hook, poison rice, colored rice, shirukens(throwing stars) and many more. To beat the game you can do one of two things, have this game be an all out hacking fest, or two be a stealth ninja and only kill when you must. You are also rated at the end of each level. If you get the highest rating you will recieve more items. This game is probably one if not the best ninja games ever. There are other stealth and fiting games around but none compare to the gory graphics and awsome gamplay of Tenchu Stealth assassins. Although I say this game is very good there are still some flaws. Like whe cluthing to the wall you can pretty much see through the wall but that will not keep you from playing this game. it is a difficult game but not a boring one. I enjoyed and I think you would too.

This is the last of the great Playstation games and one of the best. With the advent of the PS2 many are loath to go back and continue playing their old PS games. This is one of the few exceptions.

The graphics are top quality for the PS, movement is smooth and simple, gameplay is enjoyable and the game is both challenging and exhilirating.

You play as either Rikimaru or Ayame, male and female ninjas given missions to help their master with a rival master who kidnaps his daughter. You are given instructions to kill his enemies, infiltrate his castle and other duties. Along the way you fight a range of guards from those very stupid to those perceptive and hard to beat. Manuevering without being seen is the main feat in the game as you try to make your way through a forest, on rooftops and even the inside of a volcano. This game takes patience, precision and intelligence, not just skill with a keypad. Knowing the right time to fight is paramount as it will determine your success in the missions. Most likely you will spend days or weeks playing this game, not just getting by the boards but replaying them over and over to see what can be done differently and better. It is very entertaining and involves you much more than your standard solve the puzzle-shoot the demon-kick your opponent video game.

Tenchu: Stealth assassin - Circa

GOOD:
- Easy and fun stealth gameplay
- nice/tight controls

BAD:
- Really dated graphics
- Stealth gameplay can be overly simple
- Little replay value with not much to unlock

WILL IT FIT YOUR TASTE:
- Ancient Japanese samurai and swords theme
- Ninja Stealth gameplay, more fun hack and slash then overly complex (think more Metal Gear then Splinter Cell)
- Two playable characters one male and one female

GAME ITS MOST ASSOCATED TOO:
- Tenchu 2: Birth of the assassin
- Metal Gear Solid
- Siphon Filter

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- Getting a better ninja rank at the end of missions unlocks much better items

awsome game!

Just a word: wonderful. It's the first game to earn my complete attention. Play it in a dark room, and you'll find yourself keeping your breath, listening to your heartbeat while you wait the right moment to attack. When, for the first time, I succeeded in killing the evil merchant, I felt Ki flowing inside me like a waterfall.

Lord Godha expects much of you!

"Tenchu: Stealth Assassins" is one of the best PSX games ever! A ninja simulator that shows how good you are with stealth! The graphics are awesome, the realism is great, (e.g.: The corpses stay in the place where you killed them, they don't disappear into thin air, and you can remove limbs from your enemies, and the enemy AI is great) and the music is cool. The voices are bad, (Rikimaru's is about the only decent voice) but hilarious, especially Naotada Sekiya (for those who don't own this game, I'm not expecting you to figure out who he is) who talks to you before you enter the Training Mode. There are so many cool Ninja tools to use from your shuriken, to poison rice, to lightning bolts that strike from your hand! The armor in this game makes the Ninja look even better! "Never harm the innocent." Start with the Training Mode to get the feel of the Ninja before heading out to some of the most exciting missions.

Great game, overall

This is a great game - the story line is interesting if not brilliant, and the change from killing everything you see to really needing to sneak around is great. The only problem, and it's a biggie, the camera angles are HORRIBLE. You often will end up looking at a wall, frantically trying to turn around while some guard is shooting arrows into you. However, in spite of the periodic frustration, it's addicting. To bad it doesn't support analog controller, tho.

THis is one of the most original and innovative games that I have ever played. In most games you just fight the enimies face to face, while hoping to out jostle them and take little damage. In Tenchu you must use the art of stalking your enimie in order to get a quick kill and take on little damage. The tools you can use in this game also help you sneak up on enimies or to attack them from long distance. THe boss fights on this game are pretty hard at times, and are used to make the game more of a challenge. THis game also has a lot of gore so if you don't want your kid to see pools of blood this game is probably not for you. This game is flat out awesome, with only one downside that keeps it from getting five stars, Tenchu is just too short of a game, which leaves you begging for more.

I've had this game for almost a year now and although I've beaten the game a couple of times already, I still play it. Why? you ask. I think that the challenge and replay value lies in trying to get the Grandmaster rating, without using the cheats. A true challenge!

I agree with everything everyone else has said already about the game. For some reason, what sets the game apart for me is the soundtrack. The music is great! and very much what makes the game what it is. Sort of like Resident Evil and it's very special brand of creepy music, only better. What I think is even better is that the game actually comes with the soundtrack under the options menu. I have actually sat there and played through the entire soundtrack on more than one occasion. It' that good! Do get it!
