IT has good gameplay, and the graphics are good, but the abilities and availabilities found the the SNES version a deffinately lacking. Also you cant move around the world as you please, and there are no special levels. other than that, it a good game.
It's GOOD

This game has got to be the underdog for the Game Boy Advance! The graphics are excellent, the sound is awesome! I actually stood at the demo stand for a couple minutes, awestruck by what I saw. If you've ever played any Mario game, you have to play this one, especially because it has the classic Mario Bros. Arcade version. If you're a fan of Nintendo games, no matter what your age is, you're gonna love this game!!!
this game rocks

this is a reupgraded version of the original NES game! it has all the characteristics of a classic! first of all you enter mario's dream and have to save the " sub-cons" from a vile enemy called "wart" for those of you who know the story that seems the same ,which it is. The difference beimg that you need to collect 5 "ace" cards every level in order to get the 100% completion and unlock the yoshi challenge! you can choose what character you can play, from mario, luigi, toad, and the princess! Each with own personal characteristics such as luigis best at jumping, mario is average , toad has speed and princess can hover! also tied in with this is the arcade game from the 80's ( which can be played by up to 4 people) this game will keep you going for hours on end trying to complete it all and is a throughly enjoyable experiance! well done nintendo!!!!!!!!
Mario has returned!

I orderd a gba bundle pack about 3 days ago. I got it today. They graphics are awsome and the console itself looks awsome. It came with mario and Tony hawk 2. All i played was mario because it has great graphics, lots of characters to choose from, lots of levels, and the cartrige is 1/8 of a normal gameboy game! Becareful not to lose it. I will have to rate this game five stars because i loved it! I havent beaten it yet but im close. The game itself has two games in it. Mario two and Mario 1.
A blast from the past.

For those of you who don't know, Super Mario Advance, (called Super Mario USA in Japan) Is an updated version of the the original SUper Mario Bros. 2 for the NES. Mario 2 also made an appearance on Mario All Stars for the SNES. Mario 2 has always been my favorite Mario game, and it has contributed to the Mario Legend as much as any of his other games. The unique thing about this game is that the original Mario Heroes; Mario, Luigi, Kinnipio (Toad), and Princess Toadstool (Peach) are playable which doesn't happen often in a Mario Action game. Not to mention the game features great graphics and the characters and enemies talk too (which they don't do on the SNES. To a seasoned player like me (who can still remember the original) this game is great. I would recommend getting it even if you've already played the other versions.
Great fun!

This review may be slightly biased since I'm an old fan of the NES Super Mario Brothers 2. The GBA version is almost a replica of the NES version. There are some differences (not many at all), but they don't change the scope of the game. It is not that difficult, but it can bring hours of fun. This is one of the neatest GBA games (if you like these kind of games). Some annoyances are the voices of the characters played, but it doesn't change the game play.
The must have gameboy advance game!

It's been said before but I just have to say it again. Remember the original Super Mario 2 for Nintendo? Well it's back and better than ever! With improved graphics, this will prove to be the best handheld Mario ever. It offers a wide variety of enemies and levels to go through. The sound is great and the graphics are crisp. This is a must have game with your brand new Gameboy Advance. Try it, you'll like it. (...)
Fun game, TO MANY turnips!

Just kidding! Though it's quite odd that this time the Mario World has an obsession of pulling out something out of the ground, and it being a deadly turnip, bombs, and a power-up.
Anyway....
Pros-You can play as Mario, Luigi, TOAD, AND PEACH! They each have things they are best out, my favorite is toad, I mean is so cute, he's a little mushroom dude! Hes so gibberty gib, gushy blah nighkj me! Sorry it's so odd. Peach isn't good, bad stats.
-Challenging gameplay! Unlike most Mario games I've played, this is VERY challenging! I love challenging games, you can't put them down! You HAVE to beat the level! Keeps you intested.
-Health! You have a health bar! Not a bar, but hearts like Zelda! Except you only have 1 to start but you acquire more!
- No timed levels, just longer levels! This is a great feature, so you don't die having run out of time.
Cons-Not enough power-ups....Sadly you can't be Fire Mario, Luigi, Peach or Toad, neither Raccoon, or cape, or any of the other games.
-Challenging levels. I know, I know, it was a pro, but it is also a con. You can get frustrated sometimes, because you think something was "cheap" WELL SORRY, this is Mario the game that is STONED!
I always loved the gameplay in smb2 and now it's back.
