Nintendo: smart, or out of their mind?

When I first bought these games on poke'mon some 3 or so years ago I thought they were the best games ever made. I was even more suprised when there counterparts gold, silver, and crystal came out. Then I had figured out that you could trade back and fourth between all of them. Then when I was strolling through a store I saw an advertisement and the "Cool" pokemon the game possesd, I went nuts! I think it was a little foolish that nintendo did this for two reasons: Pokemon, aare pretty much over. And the new pokemon look somewhat "unattractive, or uncarismatic if you will". Then I thought of haveing a whole new world to explore in the game and thought it might be fun, and the "hip" thing to would be to purchase them. All over all this game will probobly be fun and challengeing in Its own way, but these new flashy games,(no Quotes)will never replace the origional pokemon games.(P.S. Why didn't nintendo release pokemon green in america?)

any kid shoud get this game cause i know that i love it i used to be a fan of the show and ive quit watching it but i love the games i mean it is soooooo addictive and i cant put it down *quits typing and playes the game for a hour* see wat i mean i only have good things to say about it!!!!!

I'd give it higher if it weren't for simple things.

Don't get me wrong this is a great looking game and should be on almost every gamers lists. Well, let me rephrase that. It should be on every Pokemaniacs list. However, I've outgrown being a Pokemaniac. Sure it was good in the long run but a few things about this new version are troubling.

True, the graphics are very nice and it's about time too. The sound is nicely done and there are more creatures to collect. Very nice indeed. You can now battle two on two to a battle and that brings for a bit more gameplay. Yes this is a nice upgrade in the series indeed.

My problem with the game is that we've been doing the same thing FOREVER! Nothing in the main story has really changed at all. You still go around collecting badges and trying to catch 'em all. For growing little RPGers such as myself this theme has worn its toll.

The two on two battles, while nice are a bit...poor. I mean, the battle engine is the same. You still have the same poorly done battle animations. You still look over your pokemons shoulder and they still only twitch to attack. Being that this is on the GBA instead of the regular Gameboy now, I thought this would be much better than that. When Pokemon Gold/Silver came, it was a HUGE step above the original Red/Yellow/Blue. This one is merely a babystep from Gold/Silver/Crystal. There are only more creatures, enhanced grapchics and sound, and the two on two battles. Nothing more.

Sure there's the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" deal with this series, but well its time Pokemon did something more innovative. I'm tired of the "He's robbing a bank LET'S BATTLE HIS POKEMON AND HE'LL STOP!" This seems much too childish for me. I'm so used to getting something different from RPGs but Pokemon always seems to follow the same story which is getting boring now.

If you're a pokemaniac then get this. But I'm all Pokemoned out now. If you're a serious RPGer, then its time to put the Pokemon games down and get Golden Sun: The lost Age for your GBA rather than this.

Gyms: 9/10, Batteling the gyms are much harder then they were in earlier versions, espicaly since you Dad is a gym leader. The only con with gyms is that you have to wait quite a long time before you actualy get to battle one.
Pokemon: 7/10, with a total of 351 pokemon, its very hard to keep track of them all. Its almost impossible to capture every single one! Besides, all the new ones are darn ugly!

This game has the greatest pokemon in the WORLD!!!! If you like pokemon this is the game for you!! Here is some tips watch out for the twins so have two pokemon at all times.Tip number two get as many berries as you can.

When i first got this game i was like wow another pokemon game, the i saw all the kinds of new creatures it had and my favorite is Ralts. Of course for each new game there is always problems like if you chose the wrong starter and all that time is wasted. The pros are the following 2 on 2 battles(in game or with freinds{also a pair of twin gym leaders}), over a 100 new pokemon to battle with, new pokeballs and items, and berries. The cons are you can not trade with older verisons(you can trade and battle with latter verisons though), they took away the pokegear, still cant rename a traded pokmon, and the elite four are twice as strong as in silver, gold, and crystal. All in all I would reconmend this game to anyone, wheither they be a friend or starger.

Ps I still havent beat it.

This game is awesome, the other games compared to this one are like an ant. I love this game all my friends in the school have it.This grafics are much better and also there's so much mure adventures. The new pokemons are so cool! I recomend you to buy this game, you'll enjoy it.

Saphire is a great addition to my pokemon collection!It has Wayyy(...) better graphics than the older versions and your able to catch 150 new pokemon!!

I got this game the day it can out and I started to play it. This game is a lot harder than the others it takes time and real constraion to do this game cause u have to go from one town to another then back to that town after, so u really have watch what u are doing if u ever want to beat this game. It will take u at least 20.5 hours to beat this one. I really love it and I hope all u kids do to.
