Pokemon Sapphire has 100 new pokemon. The graphics are some of the brest i have ever seen. when you walk in the snow your footprints stay for a couple of seconds and then fade away. you now have to fish at the exact moment and move your hook instead of waiting three seconds. I have the game in Japanese and have found 43 of the new Pokemon. The best starter pokemon is the fire pokemon he has the most stat increases and learns the most attacks. You will encounter a racoon like Pokemon definetly catch it!!!!!!! It is the 3 rd best electrtic pokemon and learns 2 new attacks lightning strike and electrick kick. Hope this Review helped .

Gotta catch 'em all... again!

Just when you thought it was safe to own a Game Boy Advance, Nintendo announces a brand new Pokemon title.
What we have learned is that -- in addition to a hoard of one hundred new monsters being added, as per the usual -- four player GBA link cable play is being tucked in. How do four players Pokemon at the same time, you ask? Easy: two-on-two battles. With four players (and monsters) involved, the battles get that much more hectic. For that matter, just two players can choose to engage in "Double Battle". That means even with just two trainers present, you can send out two Pokemon at once to battle in a four monster free-for-all.

Beyond that, the Pokedex has been entirely disposed of. It's been replaced with the Pokemon Navigator (of course, it's known as "Pokenavi" for short.) Inside the Pokenavi's copious confines you'll find more than a simple list of Pokemon. You'll be able to see a map of the game's world, and check out what's in different towns you've visited so you can refresh your memory without trekking back there to discover it all again. In a section of the Navi dubbed "Trainer Eye", you'll be able to review your win and loss record, and the inclinations your Pokemon display during battle. You'll be able to check strategies and schedule rematches with other characters.

It seems like Team Rocket finally hung up their hats, because this time you'll be battling two syndicates of Pokemon mischief: Team Magma and Team Aqua. Team Magma will trouble players of Ruby, while Sapphire fans will have to contend with Aqua. The stories of the two games are more or less the same, otherwise, though.

With the addition of new modes, new monsters, and all-new game interface options, it sounds like more than a little care is being put into Ruby and Sapphire to assure fans of an extremely enhanced Pokemon experience.

There are exactly 386 Pokemon, meaning there are 135 more, not 100. Of course, we don't know how to catch most of those 386 (everyone playing the Japanese games right now can only get a maximum of 200 right now). It is thought there will be another game (Gamecube or another Advance game) you will have to trade with to get all those other Pokemon. These games WILL NOT trade back with Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal.

Some of the best new features of thse games include; a secret base which you can decorate with items collected on your journey, a popularity contest in which you can get ribbons for you pokemon to raise his fame, 2 VS 2 battles (both via link cable and with pairs of characters in the game, including a set of twin gym leaders), and the ability to plant trees to get special nuts & berries. There are at least 7 new legendary Pokemon, and while there are no new types of Pokemon in this game, the new critters have many new abilities to keep gameplay fresh.

These game may not be "all they could be" according to some people, but they are more than worthy successors to the Pokemon saga. We all eagerly await the coming of the Gamecube Stadium game...

I totally agree with KerBear102.Pokemon is not just for little kids, but for every age.I'm not into the card game, but I love the games.I have the Yellow, Silver, and Crystal versions and there awesome.I think that Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire will be even better. It comes out March 19,2003.With 100 new pokemon, new cities, a new mission, oh and did I mention 100 new pokemon.I've checked out pokemoncrater.com and checked out the image gallery and was able to look at all the new pokemon.I've heard that they are adding robots to the legendary pokemon list.Well I have to go but I'll right another review when I find more info about this awesome game.

Why this game rocks

I am about the only one who did not play the import from downloading the rom from the net, so i don't know much about the game but I think that it will be really a whole lot of fun that will hopefully last long. But I also pray that the GameCube game will have the game in 3D and let us get access to the unobtainable pokemon. But if it does have a "pokemon stadium" like thing to it also maybe they will let us fight opponents on the net!

Great Game

I'll be the first to admit that I used to think pokemon was really lame, and thus I never played the first 2 generations of the game. I was finally convinced by a friend to try his copy of Ruby, and I was hooked. The game has such a simplistic yet incredibly deep concept to it, and is completely unlike anything else I've ever played. It's also positively addictive, and easily the best gameboy - advance or otherwise - game I've ever played. The objective is to defeat all the gym leaders from various towns and cities, and then to challenge and defeat the league champion, but that seems like nearly a secondary objective to simply catching and training an elite team of creatures and dueling friends - which is the real challenge of the game. It might look a little goofy and too "kidish" to a mature gamer, and the story isn't about to shame Final Fantasy anytime soon, but don't mistake this game for a mere childrens title, as there is a lot of depth behind it too... especially for the old-school RPG/Strategy nut.

Pokemon Sapphire Version ( GBA )

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 10 / 10

In this Pokemon Video Game you can find Pokemon that you cannot find in Pokemon Ruby Version which are these

POKEMON CAN'T FIND IN RUBY :
Latias
Kyogre
Sableye
Lotad / Lombre / Ludicolo
Lunatone
Seviper

POKEMON CAN'T FIND IN SAPPHIRE :
Latios
Groundon
Mawile
Seedot / Nuzleaf / Shiftry
Solrock
Zangoose

Pokemon Sapphire is a better game to start with because once you have captured KYOGRE you can easily beat the POKEMON LEAUGE with KYOGRE just has to be at a HIGH ENOUGH LV. with your SCEPTILE by the way in POKEMON SAPPHIRE you should start off with TREECKO ( GRASS ) because your TEAM ENEMY ( TEAM AQUA ) uses some water Pokemon like CARVANHANA SHARPEDO

in Pokemon Ruby you should start off with Mudkip it will evolve into SWAMPERT with is WATER & GROUND ELEMENT it can take all ELECTRIC ATTACKS as long as SWAMPERT has it Ground Element base it can be pretty much helpful in alot of cases.

Pokemon Sapphire is great!

I love this game! I own it in Japanese and it's awesome!
the Game play is cool, you can now battle with 2 Pokemon at a time, the Pokedex is cool, and you can link up to 4 players at a time! Seriously, i am looking forward to the North American Release! People: If your a true Pokemon fan, buy this game! It is the most promising pokemon game ever!

Newly found information: There is a total of 135 new pokemon. Which makes the grand total(drum roll please!)......... 386 Pokemon!! Sadly, the most i heard you can find is 200. So, you will probably have to buy both games to get them all.

Special: Gamers in Japan got a Special boat ticket at a Pokemon Fair and it took them to an island where they could find Latios(in SAPPHIRE) and Latias(IN RUBY). Hopefully there will be an event like this going to malls in different states as previous times.

The Best Game For Game Boy Advance

This game is wonderful. I have played all the previous games but the graphics, sound, and gameplay don't compare to Sapphire. You can choose your gender in this game. Your rival is May if you are a male and Brendan(that's my name also)if you are female. There is no Team Rocket (thank God) but they are replaced with Team Aqua in Sapphire and Team Magma in Ruby. A lot of the old Pokemon don't appear in this game and you cannot trade with the old games. It is not compatible with Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 either. It will be compatible with Pokemon Colliseum for Gamecube probably. There is no Jhoto or Kanto (many people are annoyed by this but a game pak can't store everything). There is also no visible night or day. There are two kinds of bikes in this game. The mach bike can travel fast and the acro bike allows you to do cool tricks. The contests can be fun also. The elite four are easy also if you train your pokemon well. The ledgendary pokemon in this game are Registeel, Regirock, Regice, Kyogre,Latias, and Rayquaza. Groudan replaces Kyogre and Latios replaces Latias in Ruby. Here's a tip : do not forget the master ball in Aqua hideout and use it on Latias. Or get a crobat, give it the quick claw and teach it maen look. Then go crazy throwing ultra balls at it (weaken it also). Here's another tip: When catching Feebas, fish in every tile 5 times on route 119 with an old rod until you find one. It's weak so throw an ultraball at it. I reccomend catching a male and a female so you can raise more and not have to go through this torture trying to catch another one (because it only appears in 6 outm of 400 tiles). In conclusion buy this game. It is surley worth thirty dollars. I hope this review was helpful.

Pokemon Sapphire for Gameboy Advance SP Rules!!! #1 GAME!

This game is absolutly the best Pokemom game I have ever played. It has cool all new and better sound effects and music, it has more citys and bigger citys and towns to go to than other games, and you can fight with two on two battles! The graphics and colors are magnificent and the different Pokemon are awesome!
The contest is cool because you can see if your Pokemon is cool, cute, tough, ect. It has more TM and HM moves to choose from and it even has a cool new feature that lets you use a special HM on an odd looking tree or cliff and you can create your own secret clubhouse base! The story begins as you choose a boy or girl. Then you start in a small town, Little Root, and your goal is to
become the best Pokemon Trainer in the Hoenn Region, the contenent you play in. It is fun and I assure you it will probobly be a great adventure for anyone. Overall this game is
the best I've seen and I would give it more than 5 if I could!
