This game is so much better than the first 2 RCTs. The coaster cam is sweet and so is a lot of other features

hours of fun!

My daughters, who are 10 AND 7 love this game. Will definitely buy more Rollercoaster Tycoon games! Thanks for hours of fun!

Mostly frustrating...

We bought this with high hopes -- we thoroughly enjoyed versions 1 & 2, and were looking forward to all of the cool new stuff. After the CD key code would not work, I emailed Atari customer service, only to be told the error message I got was usually due to "incorrect entering of CD key." As if I hadn't thought of this and tried to enter it 30 or so times. I was asked to send a digital photo of the CD key printed on the package, which I did immediately, but after 2 weeks of no reply, we returned it for a new disc. Upon (trying) to install the new one, I found our video card (which was top-of-the-line just 8 months ago) is not powerful enough for the game. Add to this a whopping 700+ MB requred for the game, and it makes most PC's incapable of running this thing. Our 7 year old is crushed that he still cannot play the game he was looking forward to 3 weeks ago. Oh, and I finally got a reply from Atari with another worthless CD key.

The game looks like it would be very fun, but I honestly don't know if it's worth a new video card that is (minimally) $89. I think we'll just keep on with RCT 2 until they get the bugs worked out.

Designing coasters with unlimited money is great!

I play this game for one reason: building coasters. I don't bother loading up scenarios, but instead head right into the sandbox.

Overall, I feel the playability of the game is acceptable. I was having initial troubles with the game freaking out in coasterride mode, but fixed that with driver updates for my video card.

I would like it if the designers had allowed game players like myself more flexibility in the building of these coasters. I thoroughly enjoy creating enormous coasters with crazy speeds. But this can only be accomplished with cheats. Why, if such cheats are built into the game, can they not be just little options somewhere? It would be great to click a button to turn off chainspeed limits, or height restrictions. 600mph coasters are hard to design with such limitations!! ;)

I'm quite happy with the game, and can say it's been a major culprit in my lack of sleep recently. Oh well...such an addicting game. I hate you rollercoaster tycoon!!! :-D

Finally 3D

Roller Coaster Tycoon has finally gone 3D and it's amazing. I picked it up a couple weeks ago and have been having a lot of fun with it so far. Now, while the game is 3D, you can ride your own rides and everything, which is really a neat feature. I'd recommend this game to anyone.

Unprecedented

Without exaggeration, this is in the top five games I've ever played.

For myself, there was a game released in the mid 90's, the first of it's kind, called 'Theme Park'. It was made my a brilliant company, Bullfrog. No joke, it provided some of the most precious moments of my very life, around the age of 11 or 12. It set my imagination on fire. It captured that indescribable joy I had as a child when visiting Disneyland.

As time went on, Rollercoaster Tycoon came out. I was floored, amazed, enchanted.

Now, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is out; it's even a few years old. Never, in my wildest dreams, did I think back then that graphics, scope, and sheer control over your fabulous creation would reach such heights. It still boggles my mind.

This game is a treasure.

Fun Yet Limited

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 is a very fun and is enjoyable for anyone. The only
two down sides are that you have limitations to height and you have to buy
the expansion pack Splash to have the good water rides and Wild to have zoos.
But over all it's very fun.

My son just turned 5 and is obsessed with rollercoasters. He couldn't wait to get roller coaster tycoon 3.(he has one and two also). He definitely wasn't disappointed. He loves that the game allows you to create an amusement park as well as the people that visit the park. It is not a game for children that are not computer savy but great for older children as well. I love it because it is not just a game but encourages him to use his imagination.

Thumbs up.

Great Game

This game is really funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. The graphics are good.
but if game is left on awhile the people and building and scenery get messed up, like the prople heads look like they are at there feet. The best thing about this game is that you can create your own people, to enjoy the park. When I'd tried to make custom charecters, befor I updated the game, it always froze. But after you update it is fine. After you update the game there are really cool new features, like making waterfalls,
new rollercoasters, and new scenery items. A really good game when you get all the bugs out.

Its okay.

This game does have a lot of improvements. It has way better graphics, the coaster cam is awesome, and I love the new sandbox mode with unlimited cash so you don't have to enter in cheat codes and mess up your game. However, the AI for the people in the game have never been worse, in my opinion. I really hope they fix this bug in the expansion pak. For the people who say that roller coasters are hard to build, they're wrong. Obviously, the people who say this have never played the 6 tutorials in the game to teach you how to do everything.

Pros:

1.This game has really awesome graphics
2.More rides, food stand, more EVERYTHING!
3.The coaster cam lives up to its expectations. Probably the best addition to the game.
4.The fireworks display is also really cool
5.The sandbox mode was definately something enjoyable

Cons:

1.The AI has never been worse
2.Not only does the rides break down, the stalls and food stands break down too
3.The new and so called "improved" interface takes some getting used too, especially for people who played the previous game
4.The staff gets bored, tired, and hungry now as well. So now, your staff is basically like the people in the game, except the staff works for you

Aside from these minor bugs that should be worked out in the expansion pak, the game overall is really fun and great and will keep you entertained for hours. If I were you though, I wouldn't waste your money on this. You should just wait for the expansion pak, because then most of the minor bugs will hopefully be worked out. Overall good game. A 4.5/5.
