After you play Roller Coaster Tycoon, advacne your skills with Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. This game is so much better than the first game. You can do things so much better with the options they've provided in the second game. This game brings out the true of building your own amusement park. I can't wait to play Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, in that game you get to ride the rides you'd built.....lol. That should be fun.
A Great Game! A must play! ***** (5 stars)

This game is great! It has better graphics than the first one and the gameplay is better than ever! This game has come a long way to be one of the best games ever! I recommend this game it gets 5 stars from me because i enjoy playing this game, even though i don't have it yet, but I've played the demo and it looks great! The special features are even better including the Rolletcoaster Design Feature which lets you create a rollercoaster without having to deal with money problems and that is a good thing! Also, being able to play in a complete Six Flags Park is really awsome! The new rides are amazing too all the new rollercoaster are fun to build and even building the already built coasters saved in the game. I hope you will like this game as much as I did when I first played it.
RCT2 not worth a separate game nice expansion though

RCT2=RCT w/ loopy landscapes + six flags parks (who cares), more roller coaster types (...'configurations' presented as types bloats up number of coaster types), partial scenario editor (somewhat cool), track designer (somewhat cool; better if they were combined), new bugs (not cool - some rides don't post test results and therefore unridable; no patches ever released), and a much higher altitude limit (totally rad - 400 foot vertical coasters!).

I've had this game for years and it's still my absolute favorite. Few computer games rival it for creativity and addictiveness. Playing it is an educational experience as well, since you have to pay attention to your finances in order to succeed. And those little clone-like guests are just so darn cute.
It definitely improves over RCT 1 (which I also loved). It plays more smoothly, is more detailed, and more importantly has LOADS more new rides, stalls, and--my personal favorite--scenery. The rollercoaster designer and sandbox mode are awesome additions, and the parks in the new scenarios are beautifully designed. The sound effects are also very good, and I really like how the rides have the option of playing their own theme music.
I've heard that some people were disappointed (!) that RCT 2 was still 2D and looked so similar to RCT 1. I think that is a completely ridiculous gripe. Much of the reason I loved RCT 1 was BECAUSE of those bright, cute graphics and the teeny guests. To have changed all that would have wrecked it's initial charm. No one complains that PacMan isn't in 3D.
Besides, RCT 3 is in 3D, and it's nowhere near as fun as RCT 1 and 2!
This game is AWSOME!

I love this game. I like it because it teaches you how to make a sucessful park and how to manage money. My favorite part about this game is the place were you can make rollor coasters whithout distraction. Buy this game! A kid's review.

This game is truly the most addictive game you'll ever play. My problems with it are only a few, but I noticed that the scenarios are now considerably harder, except the Beginner ones. Even the medium ones are strugglingly difficult and the Expert ones are truly for *Veterans* of the game ONLY. I have beaten all three beginner parks, but am stuck on the initial Medium one: Amity Airfield, which requires 3,000 guests. In my experience, you can't usually attract that many without playing for about six game "years".
Anyway, the game is still the same fun game we've all known for years now. Nothing has changed; the premise of this sequel was ADDITIONS. They added some things, but it's all largely the same. Most of the new rides are a bit of a stretch, being re-themes or in coaster cases, different cars. There's still - believe it or not - only about four truly new coaster tracks.
The positives are that the game is still extremely fun and very addictive. If you have about a week's time with nothing to do, RCT 2 will fill it. Gaurenteed. But it's also garuanteed because the game is much slower to load. Two prompts to load the game alone, and one for a scenario, or saving/loading. A minus. However, back to plusses. The new Scenario Editor is a godsend. You can cheat, by pulling in existing parks -- take Crazy Castle for example -- and you can purloin it into the editor, and tweak it. Add more rides, change them, make it bigger/smaller, add themes, alter it fully. Be advised that without removing and re-installing the game, your changing CANNOT be reversed.
There really aren't true cheat codes for the game. However, there are trainer programs. The downside's that they crash the game usually at least once, so SAVE your progress every few minutes. Don't create a new file until you do something major; I do it like this: Jump into the park and build a ride. Save the game as the scenario name, 001. Now from March, Year 1 to August, Year 1, all savings -- every 10 minutes or after a project -- can overrite the 001 file. Then the next time, make 002. That will make it easy.
The game's graphics are the same.
Recommended.

I have owned this game for a long time and still find joy playing it. This game is realistic might I add. It costs mmoney to tear down trees! But realistic can sometimes be better. You can select playing on an already made park, or a real six flags park. There are six flag's rides you can buy throughout the game too. Basically what you do is buy a piece of land, have an objective, an then start building a park with rollercoasters, food places, merry-go-rounds, and a whole lot of other stuff. As you go on through the game you can buy more varied types of rollercoasters and more scenery. This game, in my view, is a must have!
take it from me

This game will keep you going all night long. I initially played this thing for over 4 hours straight before the wife finally shut it off. The graphics and the rides are wonderful and the presentation is flawless. If you loved the first one, you must own this update.
