This is my favorite game ever!!! I got it for my birthday (and I know that it was really hard to find) and it's the greatest! It's really fun to tend to the crops and animals and walk around town, shopping and talking. You can name your animals anything you want too. Every day, you can also go out and go to the tree behind the chicken coop (near the stream) and get some honey from the beehive to put in your shipping box.
There are special events on the calendar too. There are events like beach day, cooking festivial, thanksgiving festival, and horse races. Your television set also has different channels like the weather channel, special events, life on the farm, and my personal favourite, duel chefs every tuseday. There are also the harvest sprites that live in the little tiki behind the church. It's best to try to bring them orange, purple, red, or yellow grass everyday. Then, you should get them to like you very fast. The grass is held in the beach which is right by the Rosa Square.
This is the BEST game ever!!!!!

As you probably heard, Harvest Moon, is a very fun game. If you are new to Harvest Moon (HM) I will tell you that this farming (I know, I know, FARMING)game is extremely entertaining. I first got this game when I was eight or something and I thought, ewwwww, a farming game. It turned out it was my favorite gameboy game EVER! It's all I play. Harvest Moon FoMT is a HM game that you should play after you've played Harvest Moon GB. HMFoMT has many features like a whole town full of people and their own dramas. You can own five animals: dog, sheep, cow, horse, and chicken. As rumor has it, you can have puppies! You can only own one horse, though. You can own up to FOUR(that's right four) houses, and can marry the Harvest Goddess. There are six bachelorettes for you to court, and harvest sprites for you to play with! You can even have a kitchen and cook delicious meals. The graphics are GREAT, too. For a site that is really good go to www.fogu.com/hm4/ . I hope this was helpful, and if not, go to the website I suggested!

Hi, If you are reading this review listen VERY closely! I'm an 12 year video game freak kid who's on a mission to find the most fun video games (duh!) !!!!!!!! Here's some stuff on one of my FAVE games, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town!!!!!!

When I first got Harvest Moon, I was a little nervous. I thought, "Am I that in to farming???". But guess what?, Harvest Moon totally ROCKED MY WORLD!!! I played it for months! Than I took a little break from it to play Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life, another great Harvest Moon game! Then, I got hooked back on to it and here I am. Here are some of the way cool suff you can do:

. Chose one of 5 girls to Marry
. Raise farm animals, crops, and your kid!
. Sell crops, animals, fish, and ores
. Enter contests and have fun in festivals
. Interact with other characters in the game
. Fish
. Buy seeds, food, tools, sacks, and the blue feather!
. Ask the Harvest Sprites to help you with your work
. Mine
. cook with rescipies
. build on to your house
. plus tons of other stuff!
.

When you first hear about Harvest Moon games, you wonder if it is some new-aged SPACE game or something because of the word, 'Moon', but it has NOTHING to do with that. Then your friend tells you it is a Farming Sim, and you start to not want it if you have never played it.

It is very intertaining and it is a good way to pass the time. The veriety of things to do is one of the best things about the game! Four houses, available expasions for things around your farm, Sprites to help you with your animals and crops, and 6 Lovely Ladies that you are able to Marry at one point or another. (With the needed things)

The controls where obviously thought out for the player and the feel of things, so that in a tight situation you don't have to take your hand off of the gameboy to press certain buttons to get to a menu you need. Sometimes the controls are a little touchey and if you are barely touching the R or L button and press A or B, it will cause you to pull out an item when you are in a race against the clock...

At first it goes a little slow, but once you get enough money to get the things that will really help you run your farm, it gets a little more fun and a little les repetetive.

My overall score war 5 Stars because if its excelent gameplay and the look and feel of it all.

This game is great; the graphics are practically as good as the ones for harvest moon 64 and there are just as much things to do and there are tons of cool animations. also, the world is pretty big; theres even two mines. there are some new crops and you can have a ton of animals after expanding the chicken coup and the barn. you can actually read the books in the library too and there are toooons of recipes you can make with the kitchen. i think its a great game and i cant wait for harvest moon AWL to come out!!

Harvest Moon Rocks!

As a big fan of Harvest Moon, starting with the Super Nintendo version and going to Gameboy Color, Playstation and N64 versions, I highly recommend this game. It is not a game for everyone; if you get bored without a lot of action, doing a lot of the same things over and over, or having to convince yourself that it's fun to do farmwork, I'd leave this game on the shelf.
I found it far more indepth than the SNES version, with the same number of bits. It is a lot like Back to Nature, which is the Harvest Moon game for the original Playstation. It's really a great game and is a lot more interesting than it appears at first.
First of all, the most fun I found with this game is that you have 5 choices of girls to flirt with BUT you also have competition; each girl has a guy competing for her attention. Also, you can cook, make all sorts of great foods with over 100 different recipies. In addition the festivals and contests are just so much more fun.
All this added to the initial fun of just planting crops, raising animals, and making friends in town makes it one of the best harvest moon games out there. A great sim and a great game.

One of the best in the Harvest Moon series!

This game is probably one of the most fun and addicting games for the Gameboy Advance. I love it!! As a huge Harvest Moon fan, I was not disappointed. Sure, the idea of a farming game may sound boring... I know when I first heard of the series (Harvest Moon 64 was my first game in it) I thought it would be a yawn-fest. But now the HM series are some of my favorite video games! There's so much more to it then just farming. Choose a girl of your choice to marry ... there's a tomboy (Ann), an animal (especially chickens!) lover (Popuri), a book fanatic (Mary), a nurse (Elli), and an... err, alchoholic (Karen). For me it was hard to choose between the five, and took me a looong time when I narrowed it down to three (Popuri, Ann and Elli). Besides marriage, you can meet and socialize with the many villagers. Some, in my opinion, are complete dweebs *cough* mayor *cough* and some are friendly and nice *cough* Lillia *cough*. But there's more!! Yes, you heard me, MORE!! ^_^ Besides farming, marriage, and making friends, there are tons of festivals! There's the New Years Festival, the horse races, the frisbee tournement, and more. Some festivals can add to how much your bride-to-be likes you, such as the fireworks (you watch them with your girl) or the starry night festival.
After you get married and have the best farm you can have, there's still more. Your wife can have a child, and you watch your kid grow up.
Then there's other elements such as cooking hundreds of fun recipes, watching an entertaining TV show every morning (Hee hee, My Dear Princess and TV Shopping Network are my favorites!), fishing, mining, and... it'd take hours to explain all the rest!
This game is one of the best I have ever played. I recommend it 100%. ;)

I have this Harvest Moon and Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. I won't even play AWL anymore because this one is so much fun!

Pros:
-Addicting!
-Do everything how YOU want to.
-Unlike AWL, crops are very profitable.
-Unlike AWL, there is a lot to do. AWL is extremely boring compared to this!
-You can have the Harvest Sprites work for you!
-5 girls to marry! (I married Karen ^-^)

Cons:
-Marrying the Harvest Goddess is hard and unworth it
-Wild dogs scare your outside animals
-Typhoons and storms are VERY annoying
-Some bad translations/glitches

The cons seem to not even be there because it's so much fun!

Harvest Moon games are always fun and addictive. My favorite one was 'Back to Nature' on PSOne. I coulden't stop playing that for months! It was a truly unique gameplay experiance. Friends of Meneral Town looks like a handheld version of the amazingly great PSOne game, Back to Nature! That is a great thing because you can play this on trips and stuff. I havent played this yet but i'm sure its going to be awesome. What can they mess up? We need more series like Havest Moon. More unique games that stand out from the rest. Support good gaming and buy this game. Its gonna be great!

HM FOMT is yet another masterpiece in the great Harvest Moon series. Based on the game HM BTN (Harvest Moon Back to Nature)it doesn't introduce a giant bunch of amazing new ideas to the entire Harvest Moon series, but for the handheld portion of the HM series, its a giant step. And if you don't want to spend money on a PS1(if you don't have one) or just haven't played the game, you should definetly play this. Fun for veterans and beginers in the HM series.
Here's what I think of the game itself and why.

Graphics:10/10
Story:10/10
Controls:8/10
Music:9/10
Sound effects:9/10
Concept & Gameplay:10/10
Overall:11/10

Graphics: For the GBA, the graphics are pretty good. The colorscheme is impressive too. In the town you can see every brick on the street!

Story: Very nice. You see, when you were young you spent a lot of time on an old man's farm. You met a girl there and played together. Then when you had to go you promised to return. Now the old man has died and left you his farm! From there on, what happens is up to you. But whatever you do has an interesting reaction.

Controls: There're OK, but could be worked on. You can't go diagonally, and it's all to easy to get the selct button confused with the start button, and it's annoying when you do.

Music: Nice and cheary. The intro has a nice whistling tune to it. However if you play enough, it can get a bit repetitive.

Sound effects: Again, done nicely. As with a lot of these games, during night (8:00PM and after) the music ceases and is replaced by night sounds. Here, mainly a very convincing wind, with rustling leaves. Some sounds sound childish, but it fits the game's style. The only flaw is that some of the sound, like the waves of the beach sound artificial... Unconvincing.

Concept and gameplay: Terrific, classical HM formula for fun. Running a farm sounds boring, but makes a VERY addictive concept.
Although starting with with a small rucksack is annoying (ONLY 3 SPACES!!) it makes a great challenge, and provides motivation to buy a bigger one.

Overall: This game is absolutely great. It may take a few Harvest Moon days to get used to, but once you get used to it, you'll be stuck to it like glue. Well worth $30. BUY IT NOW!!!!!
