It was in great shape when I recieved it. The game is fun and exciting, it contains all of the favorite episodes of Doom. I thought that it might have been challenging to play the game boy version, but I found it to be similar to playing it on PC. I recomend this game to anyone who loves the Doom series, or to anyone who loves a good shooting game.

I was so excited to see a GBA version of DOOM that I went out and dropped sixty bucks on a GBA SP. I am not at all disappointed with this port of the legendary PC classic. The game plays just like the pc version, and although the controls are difficult at first, you get used to them fairly quickly.
The gameplay does slow down noticeably in some levels as opposed to others, but it is never choppy or too hard to handle. The small screen does take something away from the PC version, but that is to be expected from any game ported to PC. Also, the monsters have green blood, which is not a big deal for me, but some people found this really bothersome. Also, they disappear shortly after being fragged, which can cause confusion in some of the larger levels when you can't see the bodies in rooms that you have already cleared. Some people complained that the game is too dark; I didn't notice this. but I have an SP with the backlit screen, so I don't know if that makes a differnce. Anyway being said, this is an amazing port of the best shooter game ever made, and since you can take it anywhere, you will never be bored. (unless your battery runs out).
I have not yet tried multiplayer, but I bought two cartridges and I will test it out soon.
DOOM, the greatest game ever, but now hard to see too!

If you are bored on a trip or at work, this game is perfect and the best thing since pockets on a shirt. The worst thing you can do is fire up the original on pc for a while, then check this game out on GBA. It's really small and hard to see what's going on sometimes. But of it's that or no DOOM at all, I'd take this in a hurry! It's really good all in all. Buy it if you like DOOM.

....running Doom on a 486DX 80Mhz 4Mb RAM 14" like I used to when I was only 22 and together with three other chaps "re-allocated" time from our engineering classes to blast each other either with pistols or rocket launchers.
Who doesn't remember endless nights in front of your PC fighting fire-launching monsters, grunts and bosses, checking your map trying to find the secret passages, desperately looking for medi-kits and ammo....ahhhh...those were great days!!
I won't lie to you, it's not the same on a GBA screen (some scenarios are way too dark) but nevertheless this has brought-up so many great memories that only listening to the score is great fun.
Long live to FPS's.
Enjoy.

My personal favorite game on the gba. its the original at its best, most of the levels, creatures and weapons are still hear in its choppy looking blurry glory. while the graphics may suc by todays standards its the gameplay that counts. The game dosen't stutter or slow down a bit. Blasting demons has never been so much fun. and once you beat it you can do it again and agian. If you liked doom then, you will love it now.

Doom is the seventh best FPS for the GBA and the second released for the system. Doom was first released for the PC back in 1993. The game was awesome. Eight years later the game is now portable. And yes, it is still awesome. Everything from the original is here except for some minor elements that don't detract from anything. Doom is back, back with a vengeance!

Think back to the early days of your computer. No Windows 95, just what most of us call today as command prompt. Back then, Command prompt was called MS-DOS, or DOS for short. When it first started you could purchase games for it like Duke Nukem 3D or DOOM. Well, that old old FPS that we all loved so much has shrunk. Now, instead of using DOS, you use GBA.
Much comperable to the old DOS version, DOOM has hit the GBA. Yes, the game still looks like the old C++ version, but that is now the lastest in handheld FPS's. With all the game still here, minus a few bosses, you have an excellent game to purchase.
Lest do some comparrisons
Then-
Your computer played MIDIs
Now-
Your GBA plays MIDIs
This makes for music that is the exact same as that of the original DOS version
Then-
You used basic controls for DOOM like your arrow keys
Now-
You use the directional pad on your GBA
This meand the controls are very used to if you used to play any old DOS FPSs.
I love this old game and I love the way it plays on the GBA, so go pick a copy of it up!

I got Doom 2 for Christmas, and it is very very cool! It is the first FPS for a Gameboy seystem i've ever played. You get to fight demons and formor humans. You get shotguns, plasma rifles, a chainsaw, rocket louncher, and lots more weapons! The deamons took over the only spaceport, and you have to open a force field so you and the other servivers can get into space away from the ruined planet.
