If you are bored on a trip or at work, this game is perfect and the best thing since pockets on a shirt. The worst thing you can do is fire up the original on pc for a while, then check this game out on GBA. It's really small and hard to see what's going on sometimes. But of it's that or no DOOM at all, I'd take this in a hurry! It's really good all in all. Buy it if you like DOOM.

this is a MUST GET GAME OF THE SEASON. you HAVE TO get this game!!! i have played PC version and GBA version and GBA is soooooo much more fun. the PC version is kinda better since the blood is actully "red" instead of green. and plus a couple of our old monster friends are gone. but the GBA is way better because the graphics are just a slight bit better than the PC.. although most people dont tell the difference. also the gameplay is alot better. i give it this rating:
graphics:10
sound:9
FPS:9
replay value:10

Admit it, you never thought you'd ever see Doom (or any first person shooter for that matter) on a handheld, and certainly not on the GameBoy, but what we have here is one hell of a game for the GBA. The graphics are a bit dated, and the enemies look like ants from a little bit away, but this fast paced action shooter is a surprisingly solid GBA title. I only hope the upcoming GBA conversion of Wolfenstein 3-D is as good or better.

Wow. This game amazed me alot when it came out beccause I thought Doom64 (. . .). So I decided to try this one. I was impressed greatly. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because of its graphics. They could have been better. The weapons, also, were not that amazing. There were only like 4 or 5 weapons. I was dissapointed at that. But despite that, everything else seems good. This game has plenty of levels, like 24 or something. I am on level 12. It's way too hard already. I can't imagnine the last level! One thing I didn't get about this game is when you kill a enemy, there is green blood. I don't value that too much. I wish that it looked more real. Anyway, the levels are great with great monsters in them. The music is sort of weird and the sound effects aren't that great but I can cope with that. There are 4 different levels of how easy it is or how hard it is. There is three ways that you can start. The multiplayer mode is awesome. I don't know why it was rated teen. This game seems more on the line of mature. Great game with a good amount of faults but not real bad faults (. . . ).

If you are looking for one of the best first person action games, Doom is for you. I have this game and it rocks! You get to battle demons and zombies and all those other monsters from hell. The weapons are one of the best on this game, featuring rocket launchers, shotguns, pistols, plasma rifles, chainsaws,
and the best weapon on the game, the BFG9000! This game packs a
lot of action so you won't have to take your eyes off the screen!
So what are you waiting for? Get this game for Gameboy Advance! If you don't have a Gameboy Advance, I suggest you get it because the prices for it have dropped a lot: From [price range]!

I have played Doom on about all the systems possible, PC, Snes, N64, and the PSX. None of them came close to the PC version. That all changed when I saw the Doom version on the GBA. Let me review it this way. In the snes version you could play all the episodes from the PC Version, but you could play all skill levels on the first, three on the second, and two on the third. That disapointed me because it got really hard toward the end. Plus you got no saves, that means if you got far you couldn't save your progress. The graphics aren't good either. For example, the monsters look the same from all sides, that means it's about ten pixels for each monsters. Now let's look at the GBA version. You get to play all the episodes from the original, and all the skill levels for every episode. You get four saves. That means you can have four players with their own saves. Plus the graphics are much better, the mosters have a front, back, left side, right side, everything. Now that's a total of about 50-60 pixels per monster, and you get it all on a PORTABLE video game system. There is just one thing people have been fussing about for a while. WHY IS THE BLOOD GREEEEEN. Well I went into research and found out that the blood is green so the game could get a Teen rating. If you love Doom games, or FPS (First Person Shooter) games, then you must get this game. If you haven't played FPS and you have a GameBoy Advance this a good game to start with.

Well, it looks as if Activision has successfully ported the all time first-person shooter classic almost flawlessly. It looks amazing and really shows off what the GBA can accomplish graphics wise. The same music from the original PC classic is included, and it sounds just about the same. Some of the minor changes I noticed were that the blood is green (instead of red, probably to earn it's Teen rating) and that they have modified the levels a bit. It is not an exact copy of the original, but it is pretty close. It is by far the best first-person shooter out right now for the GBA. You get all three episodes and all the correct skill levels ("hurt me plenty","nightmare",etc). If you are an on-the-go gamer or want to show your friends what your GBA can do, you should definitely go for this classic.

I was so excited to see a GBA version of DOOM that I went out and dropped sixty bucks on a GBA SP. I am not at all disappointed with this port of the legendary PC classic. The game plays just like the pc version, and although the controls are difficult at first, you get used to them fairly quickly.
The gameplay does slow down noticeably in some levels as opposed to others, but it is never choppy or too hard to handle. The small screen does take something away from the PC version, but that is to be expected from any game ported to PC. Also, the monsters have green blood, which is not a big deal for me, but some people found this really bothersome. Also, they disappear shortly after being fragged, which can cause confusion in some of the larger levels when you can't see the bodies in rooms that you have already cleared. Some people complained that the game is too dark; I didn't notice this. but I have an SP with the backlit screen, so I don't know if that makes a differnce. Anyway being said, this is an amazing port of the best shooter game ever made, and since you can take it anywhere, you will never be bored. (unless your battery runs out).
I have not yet tried multiplayer, but I bought two cartridges and I will test it out soon.
