This is an awesome game. The play is turn based, where you move your units each one time a turn. If you have units that attack, the screen changes to show your unit's health and the opposing unit's health while your units are attacking. After your turn, the computer moves, then it's your turn again. You can design your own maps and play them, play vs. mode against 1 to 3 computers or friends via link cable. There is also Field Training to learn how to play, and war room where you play and earn points. I like the game because its multiple modes of play don't leave me bored. The "design maps" feature is awesome. This is a very addictive game. It's is good for beginners and experts.

I have played and own many GBA games, looking for the best to buy. Try this game if you are like me-you will not need to look any further. A very, very, very advanced chess, yet so easy to understand. Great characters and storyline. This is already a definite great classic.
Parents may wonder about "Mild Violence". Don't worry-EVERYTHING has mild violence nowadays...everything your child plays. If it doesnt say "Mild" though, that's when you get concerned. Also concerning ratings-don't worry about "Comic Mischief". Its the sort of thing you see on Looney Tunes.
The best ever!

From a 9 year old gamer
The game is kind of cool that you first do training with Nell, you then go to the campaign. Once you get to mission 4, you finally meet Max! My favorite is the verse mode. The best thing about this game is the CO powers.
DEEP FUN

GREAT GAME!! Deep and complex for a Game Boy Advance Game... not to mention up to 4 players on one GBA or use of links. I'm still just playing the 'training mode' so as u can see if the training mode is already fun, imagine playing with 4 friends. This game is probably one of the few reasons to buy a GBA along with Castlevania: COTM and some others. A MUST HAVE.......... get it while its still available!!
Absolute Fun!

This is a great game for turn based strategy fans out there who happens to own GBA. I highly recommend it and hope that more game developers would create similar games instead of the usual RPG stuff.
A must-have GBA title

This game is essential GBA. Some of the character art for Nell and the others is not the same in the sequel versions (AW:2, AW:DS), so be sure to play the first installment.
Great Gameplay plus Endless Replay Value = Excellent Game

Yeah, it's that good. Even if you're not a strategy game fan or puzzle game fan, it's hard not to get addicted to this game (I'll let you read the other reviews that talk about the intricacies of the game). The levels are challenging (but fair), the multiplayer is awesome, and there's actually a story to go along with the game! Trust me, you will not regret buying this game because it's one of those games you can play for weeks and still want to play over and over again. Also, if you're looking for a good reason to buy a GBA, this game is the perfect reason. Even my girlfriend, who isn't a gamer, was impressed by this one.
buy one b4 its gone everywhere

When I first saw this game, it didn't look too great. But after hearing so much about it, I decided to buy one and it came out to be the best GBA game out there, even better than Mario Kart. The game has an unlimited replay value because you can make maps. When I saw the back of the box, I saw little maps, but when you play the game, you can scroll to a map size of 30x20 squares. Not bad... I think the best feature is the Vs Mode because you can ally with computers, (this is where all the starcraft players read closer) you can play 3v1, 2v2, 2v1, 1v1. The only downfalls to the game is that it eats batteries TOO fast, I suggest to get an AC adapter or get a grip load of AA's. The map editor only makes maps at the size given and can only save 3 maps.. but what can you expect with a game pak that small? Another downfall is the difficulty... there's over a hundred levels and later in the game, it gets almost impossible that you have to do the exact moves that the game developer made it to be. The fog of war will make you scream and curse at the game But its a good challenege for chess players right? So this game is pretty much a Must-Get (...) Have Fun

my friend told me about this game and how much he loved playing it. So I cashed in my pay check and went to the store expecting a $39.99 game like most of the gba games. I was wrong this game was $10.00 cheaper and I know I sound kinda stupid saying that but this game kicks. You can create you own missions and you can place down units. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this game. And being E rated any body can play it. I would have to say that this is deffinitly one of the best game the gba is ever going to make Period. There is really no down side with the exeption that it gets really hard at the end but after a whiel you will become a pro. SO the finnal verdict
10/10 BUY AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!!
