Hours of Fun

If you own a Xbox 360 this game is a must-buy. This game never gets boring because of the 4 levels of difficulty. Not crazy about the song selection as I only like a handful of songs. My only other complaint is the price of this game. Ideally I want to pay $75 for it (its $89.99)but you forget about the price once you start playing. This game is a blast.

Great little investment!

My husband and I are in love with this game. It's a blast. The item was shipped and packed perfectly, no complaints there. If you don't get dizzy from video games, you should try this out. It is a lot of fun.

This is a very fun, interactive game. The guitar is great and overall, the game is a great way to get away from ordinary games and do something different. There are a variety of songs, from easy to difficult and you can pick what level you want to play. I am looking forward to more Guitar Hero games in the future!

There are plenty of other reviews that will go into detail about the game, its features and its track list. All I can say is, if you're still reading reviews instead of adding this to your collection, you should scroll up and hit Add to Cart now.

I have heaps of fun playing this alone while my wife looks on. As soon as we can find a second guitar controller, I can only imagine how fun it'll be to share guitar and bass duties.

Not a good controller if you play Lefty Flip

I'll pass on doing an in depth review, as many others have explained this game longer and more completely than I could. However, I do want to make a comment regarding this controller. The angular guitar does not easily lend itself to playing in the left handed mode. The PS2 version had a more symmetrical guitar that easily flips, but this is not true of the Xbox360 version. Playing while standing with the strap is ok, but if you play it sitting, it's quite awkward.

Unlikely loveable

As a person who grew up missing out on the video game era, I have irrevocably fallen in love with this game. It is for people who love goals and can analytically achieve stars (even gold ones if you good enough) if you try hard enough and practice, amazingly just like any other musical instrument. What is really nice about this game is that my hands are tiny, so tiny that I cannot play any real guitar because my fingers would never reach all the strings so using broad buttons on a small fret board helps. The only beef I have with the game is that at some point I could change from guitar to bass but that option has seemed to have disappeared. Then again it is probably operator error. Overall it is a totally engrossing consuming game with great music. I can't wait for the rockin' 80's expansion pack to come out for x-box 360!

One of the greatest rhythm games of all time

Guitar Hero is quite possibly one of the most addictive rhythm games I have ever played. I have been playing this game since July 2006 when the first game was out and have been totally hooked since then. If you don't know what guitar hero is then do some research on the internet, and you will find out that this is an excellent game. I played both the original and the sequel on the playstation 2,and really enjoyed the features added to the second game. The graphics in the xbox port are significantly improved over the ps2 versions of the game, character models have real depth thanks to the games impressive lighting, texture work on characters outfits are amazing, and the environments all benefit from the graphics this new generation of games has to offer. I highly recomend this game to fans of rhythm games and people looking for something different to play

In the picture you see for the game it shows what looks like a wireless guitar. IT ISN'T WIRELESS. If you don't care about if the guitar is wireless or not then you should have NO PROBLEM with this game. It is fun and a good game for more than 1 person.

The game is pretty fun takes a little practice to get good at the songs. Microsoft should put some free songs to download would be more interesting.

Buy it and don't make plans for a week.

I was very skeptical about the Guitar Hero franchise when I first noticed the first PS2 title on store shelves. Being a guitarist myself, I felt a bit of snobbery toward the title. But after the second game released, the hype built up to the point of hysteria; friends and family members were urging me to try it out.

What an amazingly refreshing and addictive rhythm game. To me, the game wasn't really all that fun until I started playing on the Hard difficulty level. Only at that point do you have to use all 5 fret buttons and have to worry about moving around on the fretboard. The use of hammer-ons and pull-offs become absolutely essential to your success. The songs are just not beatable without this technique. And most importantly, it finally starts feeling a bit like playing guitar. On Easy and Medium, the game feels bit too much like finger-DDR or Simon.

Gameplay is thrilling and fast-paced. Nailing down hair-raising solos perfectly is a great feeling, especially on expert. And nothing quite beats the feeling of the first time you beat Freebird on Expert. It took me quite some time to be able to get that point. The only detraction to the gameplay is the strumming. I find the strumming to be rather unnatural and often exhausting. It often requires way too much frantic motion to keep up with the fast paced rhythms of some strumming sections, and the controller fails to emulate the natural feel of strumming on a guitar. Maybe I haven't practiced enough to get used to it, but I don't find myself getting through the demanding strumming portions very reliably. It's rather ironic that I find the blistering solos to be easier than strumming, which is typically a bit easier.

In any case, the Xbox 360 version offers unique features not available on PS2, including high-resolution graphics (the PS2 is an absolute eyesore in comparison), achievements, and online leaderboards. Definitely well-worth the extra $10 in comparison to the PS2 version, if you have a 360.

So don't hesitate to get this amazing game and shred away to your heart's content!
