A great multiplayer experience.

This game is very fun. The single player is enjoyable despite it being a little short, graphics are really a treat for the eyes. The game features some intense combat as expected from a Call of Duty title. But the real treat is in the multiplayer part of the game. You gain experience by completing challenges and killing the enemy as you play online. As you level up your character you unlock new "Perks" and weapons to play with. The game is highly addictive for this reason. I highly recommend it for any shooter fan.

Top gaming experience for me.

I have played many online FPS's but this has to be one of my favorites to date. I have logged many hours online and am stuck to my chair once the action begins. The story is very short but gives you a little practice before online play and is pretty entertaining. What I most like is the upgrade experience, different perks, and the many different variations of games. From death match, capture the flags, and bomb the others base. It is not perfect, you will run into online problems, but it is almost expected. Though it is pretty infrequent and shouldn't discourage you from playing. Over all I say it's worth the money and activision did a great job. Also if you like the controls of a computer FPS's better, try out the fragfx controller from splitfish. I am putting a review of that as well, check it out.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare may well be the game of the year, it is one of the most fun I had in a game for a while, especially for a first person shooter. Resistance: Fall of Man, Rainbow Six Vegas and Call of Duty 3 are the only first person hooter games I got and that all are good in there own way. Call of Duty easily beats all of them out of the competition. Call of Duty completely delivers in almost every category that a game is based on. The graphics are the best (But a lil better on 360), The sound is immersive that you would think you were actually on the battlefield if you were blind/. The presentation is great, its like you are actually in the game sometimes.

There are a lot of people complaining about the single player campaign, that it is too short, and I'm very sad to report that it is pretty short. But even though it is short, the replay value is great even after you beat the game. First is obviously the online play, it is one of the deepest online mechanics, from customizing your own class to customizing your weapons the online play will keep you playing long into the end of next year. Plus once you beat the game, there is an arcade mode in which you play the campaign only this time there is a point system and you earn points from killing enemies. There is also split screen with 4 players which was absent from Call of Duty 3 for the PS3 last year which annoyed the f*** outta me. But even so there is very little things wrong with this game and 10x better than call of duty 3 so pick it up cuz this is one of the best games for the PS3 this year.

PROS
-Gameplay - tight PS3 controls (can't wait till Dualshock 3)
-Graphics - one of the realest graphics I have ever seen
-Sound - Call of duty has always been famous for its authentic sound and this one's no different
-Campaign - short but one of the best campaigns of all time in my opinion
-Online (Multiplayer) - FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!!
-Replay Value - VERY VERY HIGH

Graphically, this is the best next generation shooter yet. Resistance: Fall of Man has a better story and some better options, but this is graphically superior, in my opinion. RFOM 2 will give it a challenge.

I've always been a fan of the Call to Duty games, they offer great action and gameplay with good graphics. Call of Duty 4 continues that tradition with fantastic graphics, especially on the PS3, great action and very good game play. The graphics and action in this game just pull you right in, the game feels and looks very realistic. The on-line game play is very good as well.

If you like the other Call of Duty games, you will love this one. If you like other FPS type games then give this a try, you won't be disapointed.

First, I think the PS3 console is amazing especially when you purchase the Sony HDMI cable. The only negative comment about PS3 is that they should have included the cable. Now for the game:

I bought the game due to its $20 off after Xmas sell at Gamestop.

Pros: Excellent graphics, beyond ROM. Challenging and long lasting if played at the Hard level. I always start at the hard level so I can appreciate the gameplay.

Con: Too much action. Sometimes I was frustrated with shooting my own team mates and the enemy is far and distant. Unlike ROM your adversary is apparent and visual. Its still fun, so with time I'll adjust.

In my opinion only, it still doesn't compare to RE4 gameplay. Hopefully when RE5 comes out in March 08, it will live up to its anticipation.

Excellent FPS game, I have played in a long time...
The frame moves pretty smooth, and very nice story line.

Definitely recommend this game. The single player is fun. And the multiplayer is fantastic.
