Masterful and Brilliant

This series just keeps getting better. This is a product of unbelievable quality. Cunning craftsmenship, masterful storytelling, superior graphics, good investment in character development, and a knack for raising the pulse in the blink of an eye make this game more than worth the price. You'll spend many nights wide-eyed with clenched teeth playing this one. The storyline is twisting and intriguing, and you'll find yourself drawn in quickly. It has all the right elements that a game of this type needs, and is probably the best game representing the horror/survival genre available today. Buy it or rent it at least, as it will probably be one of the most intense and rewarding entertainement experiences you've ever had. Fans of the series: prepare to experience bliss.

Resident Evil At It's Best

The latest inclusion in the Resident Evil series is quite simply the best thus far, with some fantastic if obvious plot twists it leaps ahead in the survival horror genre.

Im sure you all know the story by no so I?ll comment on the graphics which are still awesome, This is without a doubt the best game on Dreamcast even a year after it?s release it still crushes most other games. The gameplay is only slightly improved from the originals but hell, ?If It Ain?t Broke, Why Fix It?, The game is well structured with a variety of puzzles, suspense and plenty of action.

Unlike the rest of the games in the series, if you didn?t like the others this game ?Will? change your mind, fans of any genre with love and respect this game for years to come and justifiably so. The voice acting is spot on and the characters facial details when they talk is phenomenal, to the extent that it (at times) surpasses the almighty Shenmue. In conclusion this is one game that defiantly does the Dreamcast justice.

The reason I own a Dreamcast

This is the type of game that defines the word "masterpiece". It is excellent in everything from plot to graphics. First up, the plot is very good. While not as good as previous REs, the plot is very exciting, filled with tons of twists and turns, and we even find out the origin of Umbrella! Secondly, the graphics and sound are phenominal. The characters and textures are gorgeus, its obvious the designers were aiming for photo-realism, and the music and sounds definately are also excellent, from the orchastra quality music to the moans of vicious zombies, it definately sets the mood. Beleive me, if the graphics don't make you wet yourself, the audio will. But, the best thing about the graphics is that the environments are finally in full 3D! You wanted it, and you got it, the end of all your frustrations: a moving camera. Third, the weapons are all here, with returning favorites like the Rocket Launcher and Magnum, plus plenty of new weapons like the Bow Gun {with regular and explosive tipped arrows} and the UZIs. Now, I know what your thinking: "But what about the control, is it still intact?" And I say: "What are you, ignorant? Of course its intact!" Yep, the control is the same including the 180 spin move from RE: Nemesis, but minus the dodge move also found in Nemesis. And, to top it all off, some of the puzzles actually make sense! I'll leave it at that.

Great game - creeps the hell out of you

I didn't think this would be a great game when I went into it, but within a few minutes I was hooked on the storyline and the creepy effects (the slow door opening, the heartbeat in the background, the sound of your footsteps.) This isn't so much an action game as an adventure game with some action elements. It's based on the puzzles and the exposition of the storyline, so it may disappoint those who were expecting the chance to shoot more zombies. Definitely a game to play at night with the lights off (daylight tends to lessen the creepiness of the game.) The graphics are fantastic, better than anything on N64 or PSX.

My only big complaint is more with the awkwardness of the Dreamcast control than with the game controls themselves. A little too big for someone used to the smaller playstation controllers. Other than that, this is a game really worth the money.

RE Heaven

Even now, 2 years after its release, I still play this spectacular game. It is huge in its scope and ambitious in its creation, longer and more exhilirating than any RE game before it.

Graphics:

Superb. These were top of the line visuals when this game was released. The backgrounds are clean and sharp and the characters have way more detail than those in previous RE games. The stylized CG movies are very cool, with plenty of matrix-esque action and nice detail.

Gameplay:

The ill-fated RE control scheme returns in this installment but for those who are used to it there should be no problem. It stays with the standard puzzle and action format as it's predescessors but the puzzles seem far more realistic this time around, like actual problems you might face if you were facing the same situation of Claire/Chris.

Mood:

This game is creepy. There are plenty of heart-pounding jump from your seat moments but this sequel tends to lean more toward creepy pyschological terror that messes with you in the same way as Jacob's Ladder. There are a few creepy environments that come to mind, like Alfred's big dark house on the hill that is a mix of medieval decorations and deformed dolls (there is a life-sized one that has been eviscerated and hung from the ceiling...creepy) or the torture chamber of a really messed-up doctor.

Story:

I like the way that the Ashford family is portrayed, a prestigous line that has lost it's greatness and pride. The Ashford twins, especially Alfred (crossdressing...) are chilling characters. The return of Chris Redford is a plus, and the ending is exhilirating and action-filled. With this plot the RE series seems to be moving away from its B-Movie feel and becoming more similar to a feature film.

All in all this was an excellent game and a recommend it to any fan of the RE Series or any one who likes to play a quality game.

The Best!

Resident Evil Code:Veronica is by far the best Dreamcast game available. Very solid gameplay, the hours just go by like seconds. It has a great storyline and very believable charicters. And it's not just a zombie shooting game, there is an awful lot to figure out as far as stratagy goes, so if you aren't good at stratagy games you may need a walkthrough. But overall REC:V is two discs of pure fun. If you only get one game for your dreamcast this should be it. AN ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE!

Code veronica is without a doubt the best dreamcast game out

So I just got my Dreamcast (it rules)...and the first game I got was Resident Evil: Code Veronica... I invited a couple of my friends over and we start playing the game... So, then I walk into a graveyard, it's quiet and then out of nowhere a helicopter explodes and a couple of zombies pop out of it. My friends and I just ran, we're like ducking under chairs and stuff and then we finally kept on playing and I died in the video game. A couple of zombies ate the girl. And then we were so freaked out we just played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, but back to Resident Evil, if you want a hard game to beat that scares the pants off of you, this is the one.
