Oh My God This Game is Amazing

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 91 / 108

This is the most unbelivable game I have ever played in my life. The amazing lighting the sound the graphics are all 5 Stars in my book. The only trouble that I had in the game was the seven painting room puzzle, and that the game was in Japanese. I love this game every second of it is action packed with more and more surprises as the story unfolds. It even has some characters from the first Resident Evil, but I'm not about to give those away. This game absolutely blew me away. I said this about Nemesis but Code Veronica is the best game in the series.

Disappointing

Although there has been a lot of good comments about this game, I found myself very disappointed. I have played all of the other RE games and this one has a very different feel to it. The fear factor doesn't exist as the genre of RE:CV is more of a shooter than a survival/horror game. The graphics were truly stunning however, and there were excellent cinematic scenes. I like the RE series because it has been very gory, but this game cut out ALL headshots and legshots. That means that you will no longer see the gore of past classic RE games. Although I personnally was disappointed, I'm sure many people will enjoy this game greatly. Give it a rental before you dish out your dough.

dont let those 2 or 3 star guys fool you! Best RE and game

Resident evil. The series we all know and love. I was blown away by the graphics and the deep storyline. It was the best since the original title. Graphics are only rivaled with shenmu, but this kind of game is better anyway. Sound is top notched and gameplay is what we all know and love (or hate). For me, it was a pleasure having the same controls and blast zombies. The only gripe is that they took out the head and leg shots. Waah! All well. they better put it back in the next one. Anyway pick this up now. Its worth your money and you will enjoy every minute of the 15-20 hours that it takes to complete.

sets a new standard 4 survival horror

I cannot begin to express my disappointment with RE:CV. I bought a Dreamcast specifically for this title, and when I began to play it my stomach sunk. First off ALL THE GORE IS GONE, when I first heard this I thought it wouldn't make a difference, but all in all it totally ruins the "Horror" theme of the game. Lets hope their is a code to open it up. The voice acting is still lame, but the story is pretty good, definately better than RE3. The graphics are stunning, the intro is borderline breathe taking. Unfortuantely a lot of fog has found it's way into the Resident Evil universe due to this upgrade. I'd have to say rent this first and see if you enjoy it. I can see hardcore finds loving it.

Best of the Series

If you've played any of the earlier incarnations of the renowned Resident Evil series, you know what to expect: high drama, intriguing storyline, biting suspense, bad voice acting and fun, hidden extras.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica surpasses the earlier chapters in every way. The graphics have been given a "next generation" facelift. Gone are the pre-rendered backdrops with static cameras; in its place are highly-detailed polygon backgrounds with dramatically sweeping camera movements, giving the settings the impression of a well-blocked movie. The blocky characters have been replaced with high-polygon well-shaded models that give the game a very believable appearance.

Storylines have always been a strong point of the Resident Evil series and this release, although developed in-house by Sega for Capcom, did have its story and outline pre-written by the same persons responsible for all of the others. Code Veronica furthers the intriguing on-going story of the the Redfields and the Umbrella Corp.

This game is a masterpiece. I've played the import all the way through as Claire and am ready for the second disc. world's finest console available.

totally what i expected from capcom and the r.e. series. this game rocks! get it! get it! get it! the cg graphics are awesome and the sound is so realistic. i don't know what version the 2-3 star people had but they don't have the one i got. this game will scare the pants off you so turn out the lights and close your windows..."fasten your seat belts. It's going to be a bumpy night."

Quite frankly, if you're reading this review, you're wasting valuable playing time. But since you're here, this is what I thought of the game: This is the best RE ever. Graphics, sound, voice acting and load times are all improved remarkebly! I don't see how this game could dissapoint anyone except for those who are looking for excuses to be dissapointed. O.k., yes the animated gore is less and the controls are a little reversed from the playstation crontroller, and yes you still have to press the action button to go up the stairs, but... these are SMALL gripes. RE:CV is amazing and you won't regret shelling out the cash to get it! So why are you still reading this? Go buy it!

This Game Is Awesome!

Buy This Game Now!It is so scary I couldn't hold the controller still, because I was shaking so much! The sound is awesome especially if you have a home theater or a stereo with surround sound. The Opening CG Movie looks Incredible. The in-game visuals are as good, If not better, Than RE2's CG's! Some people don't like this game because it doesn't have extra gore. I think that's Alright. It gives the game a more realistic feel when you shoot a zombie in the head and it doesn't explode into a million pieces-like in RE2. The Real-time rendered backgrounds and dynamic lighting has some awesome effects. It's a LONG Game! Yet I love every second of the 20 Hours it takes to conquer it. This is a must-have for any Dreamcast owner, or a great reason to buy a Dreamcast!

Code veronica is without a doubt the best dreamcast game out
