Best game ever!

This is truly the best Resident Evil made so far! When i first turned it on and watched the first opening movie i was amazed! The graphics are great! So after that i got the first moment of gameplay. Same controls. Im used to em but they were a little difficult to master when i played the first resident evil.I go up the stairs what are there? Zombies! Different zombies actually. There graveyard zombies! I have a knife and try and kill em. I somehow do it. Im thinking ugh this game is gonna be hard! What do i do? Keep playing and run oit of ammo fast and die! If you really want to be able to beat this game you need to buy some kind of strategy guide or something. So why are you reading this? Go buy the game! Its the best so far!

Every part of this game has been permanently burned into the recesses of my brain. Maybe not the specifics of plot or location, only the fear, that sheer terror I had from beginning to end. This is what video games are all about - the ability to step inside a movie or novel and live those incredible moments as if they were your own. I forgot I was sitting safely in my house, my life was on that screen.

If that doesn't tell you this game is good, I don't know what to write. The plot is unbelievable, the graphics are unbelievable, the game is unbelievable, the only problem I have is that you aren't really motivated to play it again after you finish it, but the game is really long, so I'm not too disappointed. I've had a PS2 since Xmas, and I still haven't seen graphics to beat this game. The story rivals my favorite movies, and I HATE video game plots!

Now before I start talking about how bad this game is, I would first like to state out the few positive things about this game. .The graphics in this game are truly stunning, and it certainly creates a truly scary atmosphere, but, unfortunately, that's about it on the positive side.This game is an absolute mess. The controls are horrible, and the puzzles make this game a tad too difficult without a stategy guide. Now for what I really wrote this review about, the game's story. It's like a jolly awful b-movie. The voice acting is atrocious, and the story is about as believable as Pat Buchanen becoming president (brrrr!). Believe me, it is extremely corny! The people who made this game could have done alot than this! Rent the game if you wish, but please don't buy it! When it's all said and done it's a complete waste of time, and a rip-off!

If you like the original Resident Evil you will probably like this one for the most part. However, I liked the original Resident Evil, but found: Code Veronica extremely annoying.

The annoying part has nothing to do with the game itself. The puzzles are a bit bothersome at times, but nothing to complain about. The graphics aren't bad and the story line works pretty well.

The BIG problem I have with the game is the play control. The editorial comment says "less than perfect controls", well that is an understatement. You have to hold down the right trigger to use your weapons, this makes firing while running and firing while retreating overly complex. Moreover, you have to go into the menu screen every time you want to pick up or use an item. There just had to be a better way.

Most of the time I would say that the play control only diminishes the fun of the game, but doesn't ruin it. However, in this instance it does. The control sucks the fun out of the game just as the zombies do the blood out of your neck, while you are fumbling around with the controller. The game isn't very difficult, but the play control makes the game more work then it is worth.

First off the positives: The game has great graphics and interesting puzzles. It stops there.

Now, I'll slam it. The user intereface is terrible. The controls are clumbsy and slow at times. The inventory list usage is awkward. The movement of the character is also slow and clumbsy. Getting past the first attack proved difficult until the movement of the character was loosely mastered and found the character's slow movement extremely frustrating. This is not a game for the easily frustrated. I wanted to throw the controller at the television.

Okay I'll admit it when i first got RECV I loved it. I was hooked. Then I got far into the game yadda yadda yaddda. And then. BOOM boredom. Sure it has amazing visuals and great sound and control. But it didnt catch my attention for a long enoough period. Even though it is a great game to own.

I am about halfway through this game and so far I am disappointed. As others have stated, the graphics are really good. However, this doesn't hold your interest for long. Let me discuss some of the problems I have with the game. First, fighting with the knife is generally useless against tougher zombies, so you just rely on your firepower, which take little to no skill to use, and consequently the only actual action is extremely short and rare. Because of this, I havn't really gotten exited about the weapons at all, or finding new ones. Second, the puzzles are so inane that they are almost insulting. Everything is 100% SPOONFED to you, as if you couldn't handle anything more complex (seriously, putting the password to the computer on a sheet of paper laying next to it? ) It basically seems that the game has you doing these things just to keep you busy. I havn't looked at the maps more than once. Finally, the voice acting is pretty awful (why is this part so hard for so many games? ), it definitely beats say, blue stinger, but it is still pretty bad. I thought it was stupid that they tried to make Claire look like another TNA Lara Croft... Overall, I would recommend you rent this first. I am only trying to win it now because I have handed over 55 bucks for it.

Terrible game......just the same game as RE four years ago with nice graphics....stupid game it's just about killing it's terrible! DONT BUY!

The Best RE yet

This is the best in the RE series yet. It looks wonderful on Dreamcast. Clear and fluid graphics with solid gameplay. The ability to use 2 weapons in 2 different directions is a new feature that has really added to gameplay and gives the player an opportunity to make it safely through tight situations. It is a must buy, if you have a new Dreamcast make this one of your first games!

Good as everyone says it is!

Just an all around great game. It's fun, doesn't get boring, and is challenging, sometimes too challenging. There are lots of RPGs out there that can get boring, but RECV, you just want to keep playing. Scenes are great, graphics are great, the playing is great. A game to have!
