Although formulaic, still great entertainment!

The latest installment of the RE series is a very great game. The graphics are super, the sound outstanding and the interplay fun. Sure there are some drawbacks (cheesy, campy dialogue, uncomfortable controls), but they can't detract from the game's overall brilliance. The proof: once you start playing, you really don't want to stop (no matter how early you must get up in the morning!)
Better than RE1 and RE3/Nemesis, it does fall short of RE2 because, although technologically superior, REC:V's story is weaker. There is less tension and emotion throughout the game and the final boss battle in REC:V is very bland and disappointing in comparison to the exciting, pulse-pounding escape/train sequence that closes out RE2 in grand fashion.
Still, great graphics, exceptional sound effects and the sheer number of monsters ready to tear your head off (although they're mostly very familiar from prior games)are enough to get the recommendation nod from me.
Capcom doses it again this time on the dreamcast

Resident Evil first strikes you as a visually stunning game the moment you begin playing it. Characters and surroundings are highly detailed, down to room furnishings, and items within the furnishings (books within bookshelves; dinner items on tables, etc.). Ambient lighting changes depending on the circumstances (i.e. whether you are holding a flashlight or not). And the cutscenes are of cinema quality.
On the downside, the action in the game feels highly restricted. The gameplay is entirely two-dimensional, and you have no freedom to jump off pathways unless the game is scripted to do so. For instance, if in a cemetary surrounded by zombies which attack you while you are on the pathway, you are hit on both sides, stunned, and cannot even dodge them by walking off the pathway. In many respects, Resident Evil : Code Veronica feels like a 2D maze shooter from 1975 embedded in a richly textured, 3D graphical world.
Another incredible annoyance in the game are the controls. The motion controls are extreeely awkward to use, and the user interface to control your inventory is a twisted creation that only Bill Gates could be proud of.
Despite these drawbacks, I gave the game 4 stars. Why? When you are in a dark room shooting up zombies popping up from nowhere, you will quickly forget about the drawbacks of the game. You will be thrilled, scared, and exhilirated at turns. This is still a great game, and you should definitely consider at least checking it out.

I found the game quite enjoyable and challenging. The only problem I had with the game was that if you don't have a strategy guide for the game, you really don't know what to do. The graphics and video are excellent and realistic. Although I found the game to be a little too short. Overall I highly recommend the game.
Wow!

Resident Evil:Code Veronica is one of the best games I have ever played. It has dynamic cameras adding to the "spook" factor, beautifully rendered environments, awesome new weapons(SNIPER RIFLE), two characters each with their own chain of events, some cool sound effects, and it has a lot of value because its relatively long and challenging(not overly challenging though)There's one thing thats missing from this RE that the others had is scaryness. It's spooky, but unlike Re:2 I never jumped. It's not terrible that this is gone, but noteworthy. I would recommend this game to all of you. One tip if you buy this though- remember to put the empty extinguisher in an item box, you'll need it, trust me!

This Game is great. It's as simple as that. Suprises, all around scary, compelling story, and great graphics. Much better than the other Resident Evil series games. Slightly cluncky controls that take some getting used to, that dosen't take away a star making it stay at 5. All around fun.
Very old game.

Please don't compare it with PS3 or Xbox. It will make you feel better.
