Super mario world was great, but now it's portable and you can play mario bros. on it too! Luigi is now a playable character because he jumps higher but doesn't accelerate as fast.BUY THIS GAME IF YOU LIKED THE ORIGINAL!

The greatest game from the early 90's has made a strong, well-deserved comeback. Many changes have been made, but there hasn't been anything done to any of the levels or anything else that would change the originality of the game.

The depth of this game was one of the reasons why it was such a hit in the early 90's. There are 9 large and detailed worlds with 96 complex, beautifully designed levels with secrets that open up hidden levels. The levels also contain numerous baddies to defeat. The enemies range from Sumo Brothers, Urchins, Bom-oms, Thwomps, Rexes, Boo Buddies, The Koopalings, and the mighty King of the Koopas Bowser. Plus, there are characters such as Dolphins that help you along your journey.

The graphics of this game are nothing short of exceptional. In the cartridge there is a special color palette with numerous shades and tints making this the most colorful Game Boy Advance game on the market.

The play control here is nothing short of perfect. It is very easy to manuever Mario/Luigi plus jumping, running, flying, and attacking enemies is very simple with a little practice. They will not frustrate young children, or anyone else for that matter, and within minutes the controls become second nature.

Many new features have been added to this game to spice it up from the original. Luigi is now a playable character in this game. The difference between Mario and Luigi is that Mario is very fast and agile, while Luigi is a little slower. However, Luigi can jump to much greater distances by floating. As always, you can ride on top of Yoshi from collecting special Yoshi eggs found in levels. Yoshi not only provides extra protection but he can also swallow enemies with his long tounge and spit out fireballs at enemies.

Another huge addition to this game would be the Multiplayer Mode. Up to 4 players with only one game pack can play Classic Mode. In Classic Mode you and your friends have to team-up in order to defeat an array of enemies by head-butting them and knocking them off their feet. After that, you must run into them to defeat the enemy. After completing each level, you get a certain amount of points based on the number of enemies you defeated, coins collected, etc. Each level gets harder and harder with either more enemies or enemies with different powers.

The second type of Multiplayer Mode is called Battle. For every player in Battle Mode an additional game pack is required. In Battle Mode, the object of the game is to collect 5 coins before anyone else does. You can use special items such as POW Blocks, Koopa Shells, and Eggs to use against your opponent(s). Use what you have around you in the environment to help you succeed. For instance you can collect Starmen (makes you temporarily invincible) and Hearts (turns you into Super Mario) and you can even trap your opponent in a garbage can!

Overall, this game one of the best all-time, and it's defintiely the best Super Mario title out there. It's a must-buy for video game fans of all ages and the combination of a high replay value and great enjoyable make it a game that is extremely hard to put down.

I know nothing about this game except that my kids cannot stop playing it. I have to take it away. I've bought several game boy games for them but they only want to play with this one. For kids ages 6-9, it is easy for them to just start playing without knowing anything or reading instructions. Some Game Boy games require you to be a kid prodigy. Not this one. It's easy and extremely fun and keeps them quiet for hours. For that reason, I love it.

Super Mario World was, I believe the 1st game on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and I know that it was the best Mario game but the ranking of the Mario games is pretty close. Super Mario Bros 3 is just 2nd place although it is definatly a classic. This is the first game that features Yoshi and is really a great game. This is recomended to gamers everywhere.

I have the Game Boy Advance an the graphics are amazing, with a Maximum of 32-bits. If you play Mario Kart:Super Circuit or Rayman Advance, then you'll know what i'm talking about. I want to be the very first to get Super Mario World because that was the first game that I got for my Super Nintendo and because you get to ride Yoshi. I also want this game because it is very long and has hidden secrets that are kinda hard to find. I know that in the game boy advance the game will be better because of the inproved graphics and because it has Mario Bros, Classic, which can be played with only one game pak with 2-4 players.

Yes, I remember when this game first came out and how great I thought it was. Yeah, the music is "classic Mario," and Mario 64 has now opened a new dimension for our favorite plummer brother, but this game still rocks. The color is nice, and I still find several of the levels to be just as challenging as when I first started playing (oh so many years ago). I think "Tubular" is still up on my top 5 list of fun (and super challenging) levels in the land of Mario for all time. So, my recommendation -- get this game as it will provide hours of fun. And remember, those red levels are the ones with multiple exits so enjoy searching for more ways to finish the levels. And if you are considering buying GBA, get it now. It is super light, fits right in a pocket, the playing time is superb, and there are tons of great games out there!! Enjoy!

This game is one of the most fun things I have ever played! The first time I played it was on my cousin's SNES.I was around 6 or 7, and I did not have a clue about what I was doing. Now as an avid gamer I can truly appreciate this game to it's fullest!
Trust me, if you are a Mario fan, or just a game freak, looking for a good game, look no further! Super Mario World is here!!!

Starting from the top, Super Mario Advance kicked off its series with a port of Super Mario 2. Now, Super Mario 2 was of course the worst of the series, because well it originally wasn't meant to be a Mario game. I was disappointed, well, until Super Mario World was announced. At first I was skeptical because most ports have some problems, however, for this game it wasn't the case. Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World is everything you could want and more if you want a solid platform game, or if you are like me, want to relive the memories. It is truly amazing that there are some games that are over 10 years old, yet when you play them again, it feels like a new experience all over again. Super Mario World is one of those kinds of games. I remember my first boss battle, meeting Yoshi for the first time, clearing that last jump at Butter Bridge, and avoiding the dangers of the Sunken Ship. This plainly shows that if you want a platform, no one does it better than Mario.

The graphics are remarkable, and even to this day still amaze me. From the watery depths of Soda Lake to the mud covered Chocolate Mountain, the backgrounds are wonderful for each level, and the Game Boy Advance truly brings them out in full. The character animations for Mario and Luigi are well done, and the enemies look as good as ever, and so does the interaction animation. For example, when koopas lose their shell they will search for it, and when you stomp on a skeleton monster it will fall to pieces, only to surprise you by coming back to life. The lighting effects, backgrounds, and character animations will not disappoint, and have made a great transition to the Game Boy Advance.

Some would think that because this is a Game Boy Advance game the sounds would be below par. However, if you are familiar with the music from the SNES version you will know that they were all brilliant. The transition from the original to the Game Boy Advance has done nothing but improve on the music quality. The haunting music from the Ghost Tower is still there, as well as the relaxing charms from the water levels. The music will definitely not disappoint, however the voice acting is another story. It is interesting they gave Mario and Luigi voices in the game, and they actually sound good. However, they soon become a tad monotonous. After hearing "Mama mea" a hundred times every time you lose a life, it eventually will wear on your nerves. All in all, the good outweigh the bad here, and the music is good enough to keep the volume up on your Game Boy Advance.

Basically the flow of the game is that of a classic Mario game. The story is no different from the usual rescue princess from Bowser, but hey do you play platforms for the story? Back to the gameplay, you move along throughout the levels overcoming obstacles, enemies, collecting coins, and power-ups, and trying to get to the end of the level, or the "goal." The goal looks like a field goal post with a bar moving up and down the post. The higher you connect with the bar the more points you get. When you get 100 points something special happens, but you will have to find out that secret for yourself. The other concept of gameplay is the additional item grid at the top of the screen. The item grid will hold a power-up that you have stored away. By pressing select or when you are attacked the item will slowly fall and you can grab it, restoring your power. Speaking of powers, you all should remember the classic mushroom and flower. However, the new cape ability gives you the chance to fly for a short time. You can also use the cape as a weapon. There are other abilities but I won't spoil them for you, even if you know what they are. Lastly Yoshi makes several appearances throughout the game, and his addition makes the game even better

How about that replay value? Some would say because it is a platform it would get boring as soon as you complete it...that is wrong. The wonderful thing about this game is the secrets. In some levels there are alternate ways to beating it, and if you find the hidden goal you will be rewarded. Sometimes with a new type of item, and other times you will get a new level. Speaking of levels there are over 90 stages of gameplay, each with their own unique puzzles and challenge. You will also have noticed another game option on the title screen. That is the Super Mario Brothers Arcade. It is a classic multiplayer game that you can play with your friends, the objective? Get a lot of points by defeating enemies while staying alive. While it was in the first Super Mario Advance, that doesn't mean it isn't fun. It is always fun to beat your friends, and this extra option is another reason the game is a joy to play.

Overall, this game is incredible. After, all these years the game is as fun as ever, and its light hearted gameplay will give any gamer, whether old or new, a great experience. It is also shows that Nintendo really knows how to port some great games. All in all, if you are in need of a great platform for the road or just missed out on the original, be sure to pick up Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World, it's a winner!
