Fun fun fun

I've always seen the problem of diminishing gameplay in favor of better graphics as one of the worst problems of video games anymore. But, these two games have it all, seriously. heh, even though they are a little old, that only means that they won't eat up your computer resourses while you game away. They're loads of replayable fun

God has given us a sign of the future....

And that future is that Fallout 3 must COME OUT!! Seriously, these games have it all. If you like the BG series, buy these games. If you utterly HATE those games (like me), BUY THESE GAMES! It's cheap! I'd pay $80. I had these burned from a friend, but still bought the Duel Jewel when it came out (I couldn't believe it). The Manuel IS in there, it's on the disk. This game is so good that D&D 3E stole half it's system from it (exp and "Feats"). Blackisle is caught up with stoopid D&D games, but when it all falls through, you bet your @$$ they'll be back to the OG: Fallout. Tactics and the new console game aren't really fallout, just Interplay cashing in on the series. Lionheart uses the same system as FO, so definately buy this game. Buy Arcanum as well: Fantasy done right!

Hours and Hours of Re-Play Fun

These two games are great. They are very similar so if you've played one and didn't like it stay away from both.
The game is old, so people who enjoy flashy game play may not like this as much, but to those who enjoy games with re-play and multiple options will enjoy this game.
The plot line itself is linear, and won't really change depending on what you do, but you can do so many things with you character that its worth re-playing for that simple fact.
Fallout 1 is relatively easy. An average player (like myself) could easily beat it within a week or serious game play. Fallout 2 though is much more difficult, but has more options and is more fun. I still have yet to beat Fallout 2 despite many hours of playing, but then I suck and video games.
To very hardcore players the games may be too easy, and a lack of multiplayer may send away a lot of new players. But for those of us with crappy internet still and too much free time, this is incredibly action/rpg/turn-based video game.

This ain't no cake walk, but it is rewarding

This is a very fun game. Just don't expect fast paced action here.
If you like time to think about all your actions and plan out your
approch you will love this game.

A Very Fun and Entertaining Game for The Price!

Both games in this bundle are very fun. A great RPG. Once in a while the screen goes black and where I move the mouse, sort of erases the black, so it seems to have a glitch with my dell computer but all-in-all the game is awesome! I think the glitch is probably with my computer so don't hesitate to buy if you like RPG's.

Substance over blingbling

This is one of the top 10 rpg games of all time, some say the best. It is a testemant to why substance is so much greater than bling, and is considered one of the defining games of the genre. Of all the RPGs I have played, this is one of two that has a permanent spot of my Hard Disk (other being Torment). If you have never played it you owe it to yourself to do so, if only to see what makes for a truly great game.

Yes, the graphics are out-dated. Yes the battle is turn-based. Yes, this is the example of how it is to be done. You will in fact appreciate turn based battle after experiencing Fallout and Fallout2. And you will see how these graphics in fact add to the game play not take away from it. They set the atmosphere of the game (dirty).

There is something very satisfying about hearing the "SPLAT" followed by the "AAAAAAAAH" as a circle of flesh blows out from the side of an advancing Mutant, caused by your Shotgun blast (with the gun affectionately known as the Pancor JackHammer).

And just as satisfying is the "ZZZZT" "UUUUUUUUUH" you get from frying some punk, using your energy weapon. A great four seconds of animation as you watch the vermin's body zizzle from top down then bottom up, skelotal remains finalling falling to the ground in a "THUMP".

Or if you prefer the really big guns, you can go for something like the Flame Thrower. Good Golly Molly, how long can that guy run around burning aflame before he becomes a final crispy critter mess.

And unlike many games with sequels, both these games are very worth playing. You will enjoy all aspects of the game from character creation, to battle, to quests, to researching online how to enhance your game playing experience. Get it while you can. It is becomming more and more rare.

"Once more into the breach my friend".

Good but Overrated

These were the first rpgs I ever played. Regarding Fallout,

Pros:

-- Great character creation system

-- big world to explore

-- combat system took some getting used to but was fun.

-- Mostly decent voice acting.

Cons:

-- Truly cheesy writing, and the ultimate plot's pretty lame.

RPG fans love the amount of free will you have in the Fallout series, but I find that sort of thing dull. I don't enjoy playing "bad" characters or doing whatever I want. If you like that sort of thing, up this review a notch or two, because you have a great deal of freedom to play in varying styles.

(Although you can conceivably do "whatever you want" in Fallout, in practice, though, there's a basic path the designers want you to follow. Some encounters are meant to happen early, some late.)

The writing here is overrated. It wouldn't past muster in a bad HBO original movie.

Fallout 2 was more of the same, but harder. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much, and didn't finish it, in fact.

A good introduction to rpgs, but I hope there are better efforts out there.

Post Nuclear RPG, huh.......

This is the best game I have ever played. If you ask me I say it is like a box of pot. When you try it you like it. You can't stop doing it and you get addicted to it and everything like it. I tryied to stop playing it one day because my parents said I was on it to much. I couldn't stop playing it. All the weapons to pick from such and plasma rifle, rocket launcher, flame thrower, there is no end to the weapons. Have your guy with cool armor, leather, metal, some kind of robot armor (looks like a big robot). Get humans, mutants, dogs, or even robots to travel on your search for the G.E.C.K. If you like RPGs or for any case, I would buy this game.

It's Like Heaven, Except Sinners Get In Too

These two games are in my opinion synonymous with good, great, wonderful, amazing,...but just as much fun. In Fallout 1 you get the joy of wearing a wire, having man's best friend as a companion, blowing up a military base, working for sleazy casino owners, gambling, a prostitute, large array of weapons, a storyline that's simple and fun, good voice acting, superb characters, a lot of items, and Bloody Mess. The bad parts of it are the NPCs...they just don't...they're not that controllable and will do things you don't agree with. But in Fallout 2 that's all solved it has a lot of F1 and a lot more. You can live out your Godfather fantasy in New Reno, You can become a slaver, adult film star, and a lot more. There’s a lot more locales and new characters and Harold! The lovable mutant from F1, and he has a buddy growing out of his head. So buy this and be amazed

It's a wonderfull game.

Today is 29.09.2001 3:07, wroten by: Ludvik Sovadina from Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia). That game is my favorit game. Fallout 1 and 2 is the best games from the Fallou trilogy. That means that the Fallout3(Tactic) isn't that good, as the first two Fallouts. I play it again maybe for six times, because it have newerending combinations.I stil play it.
As the great Luis Armstrong says "It's a wonderfull world".
I thing It's a wonderfull game and it's full of surprizes!
