GTA IV-This is simply the greatest of all the GTA's. I just can't put down the controller. No, I'm not a video game junkie. There is just so much more to do in GTA IV you just want to get it done. The missions are unreal and just awesome. Again this is the best GTA ever.

its great

Grand Theft Auto is excellent in overall game play. The new missions are fun and more challenging. The player has control over some tasks in specific missions. I love new add-ons in game such as internet connectivity and camera phone capability. The player can call up friends for rides, health, wanted levels or just to hang out. Car and bike handling are more realistic which makes it more difficult to drive. The radio stations are great since the music is newer with actual DJ's, some from New York Radio stations. I would highly recommend this game to gamers everywhere.

Best game ever made.

OK. most of you reading this review are familiar with the previous installments of the series. So all I am going to do is touch on the points that make this game Soar above all of the previous ones.

1. The graphics. Of course we would expect this out of a 360 or PS3 as compared to the previous versions, but I should tell you exactly what makes it different. Wreckage. Far more realistic than before, the wrecks seem far more fluid, and realistic than before, If a wreck is pretty bad, the car just stops working, rather than bursting into flames, which is not very realistic. When you wreck into things, the damage that occurs is more realistic than before. For example in previous games running into bushes was like running into a wall, yet running into a light pole at a slow speed was quite destructive. Not the case here. When you run into a light pole something actually happens, the light goes off and live wires spark upon the street. (No, you can not get electricuted buy the wires, but still its pretty cool.) You will not just barrel over trees either.

2. Save points. Finally, after a mission is over it saves the game, no more running back to the "safehouse" and getting in trouble for something minor and ruining it all, that is a GREAT advantage of this game.

3. Losing a warning level over 2. It was really aggrevating that if you managed to get to a 2 level warning, you were done for, unless you made it to a safe house, now, there is a radar range meter that lets you know where to go and how far to go to start hiding from your warrant level. That is brilliant addition to the game.

4. Taking the taxi: If you dont feel like driving to your next mission, then dont, just take the taxi. While it is a little tricky to get in the taxi without truing to steal it, it can be done, and it is a great feature.

5. Going to the hospital: You dont lose your weapons. Also another great addition. No more going to the hospital and having to load the previous game to get back to where you were. Just take the Taxi and be on your way.

6. Realistic car handling/better "dash view". For most cars, instead of the old bumper view, which is hard to navigate around on, this view includes the hood and looks just like you are driving the car.

7. Body reaction to pain. there is no more just running out in front of a car to stop it...If you do that you will be run over and it looks very real, your body flys about in a random manner. (It does affect your health.) Also, there is no jogging down the street faster than a car is driving, if you miss your chance to take it, then too bad, better look for another.

8. Weapons and explosives: I cant say enough about how much better the sounds of explosions, and bullets firing sound. It is far more polished and realistic than any other installment.

In short, its the same game you are used to loving, just much more polished and realistic. Check out new york city vs GTA IV comparisions on google to see what I mean. There is a tremendous attention to detail in this game. So much that I think It would rival many major motion pictures.

Have fun my friends, its a helluva ride.

Overall, this game is one of the best I have ever played. Unfortunately, you can't really replay it over and over again, but after you beat the game, you can still interact with LIberty City. Some of the missions you can't get by without cheating, but it is still a great game.

Good but over-rated

It's a fun game to play if you liked the GTA series before, but it was over-hyped with all those perfect reviews when it is clearly not perfect. The most apparent flaw is the cover system, it works sometimes but other times it won't work the way you want it to and you might end up getting killed. Sometimes the game wouldn't even let me fire my gun while in cover which is very frustrating. If you played Gears of War you'll be disappointed with the cover system. There is about 30-40 hrs of game play. I wouldn't recommend this game to buy, but it's worth a rental.

I have to admit that I can only play this game for a little while at a time. There is only so much mayhem to cause before I get bored and go back to some other 360 title. It will probably take me forever to finish it. So far, I have enjoyed the robust story. The gameplay is pretty intuitive also. However, Rockstar, as always, hits a few negative spots with me. First, missions that are way too complicated or simplistic mixed in at the same "level". Second, the opening/loading cutscene...hey Rockstar, I don't want to have to see this stupid hooker sucking on her lollypop every time I play the game...I should be able to skip this. Third, being able to interact with everything is cool...I can steal any car, but can't get into any building or break any window...just odd. On the same note, why is it that the hood can fly off my car, but if I clip an OPEN car door in traffic, it wrecks the WHOLE car? Shouldn't the door just get snapped off? All the same, a worthy addition to the franchise. Problem is, GTA isn't my favorite series. Only 3 stars.

best one yet

Best GTA yet and not that sleazy. They need to have more music in the movie parts to fit the bill just like Vice City. Give it some old school taste to it. Also not many voice overs that I have recognized yet. Gary Busy was hilarious. Have not played it that much but will be soon.
