Jak and Daxter- Very Confusing!

I would just like to know right now if i am the ONLY person who has completed the first level and it wont let you go to the second. Becuase of this i took the game back and used the money to buy the best game in video game history- Grand Theft Auto III!
Go buy GTA3!!

You remember how much fun it was to run around and jump and dive when you first got Mario 64? It was fast, it was easy, the transitions from running to jumping to landing and running again were seemless. Movement was fun, and there were lots of different places to try it, thats what made the game worth playing. Thats what makes a good 3D platform game, good control and good transitions between movements.
And thats exactly what Jak and Daxter doesn't have. Running and jumping is such a jarring experience, you might as well come to a complete stop evey time. It's really just not fun. They may have well designed levels, but who cares if your controls suck.

This game has it all, fast paced action, great humor, gorgeous and I mean gorgeous graphics, can't turn the darn thing off fun, and fluid, continual play unlike any previous Playstation game. (It even has auto save)

There is no doubt in my mind that this will be a top selling game for it's sheer pleasure to watch and play. Some of my favorite elements are the super, and I mean super power jumps that send you up so high you can see a lot of the island below you. I got a kick out of the big Kahuna fish that should you venture to far out while swimming in the ocean will gobble you up. You know he's coming when the chilling (Jaws like) note puts panic into your heart. I especially appreciate the simple, straight forward gameplay that is challenging but not frustratingly exhausting. There are mini quests you can go on, in any order you wish, with games of their own, such as a simple fishing game that got kind of addictive.

This is a game for kids, teens and adults. A lot of us questioned Naughty Dog, for the decision they made to pass up making another Crash Bandicoot, but let me tell you, when you play this game you'll be happy they did.

I write this from the UK where Jak and Daxter was released last week, so I have played the full version and it is just awesome!Graphics, gameplay.... everything is just perfect. No one will regret buying this game. It is fantastic. Buy it NOW!!!

Jak and Daxter is a great game for all ages. If you have a n64 just think of this game as Banjo kazooie and Zelda all in one game. The game is about6 a boy named Daxter who falls in a dark eco tank when he comes out he becomes an otzel a half wheezle half otter. You have to go find the only person that can change Daxter back but he was being disobidient and played around in the dark eco. Could this be Daxter's only hope?

To tell you the truth , I was looking for a game this Christmas that stood somewhat apart from other adventure titles (Banjo-Kazooie and Crash bandicoot) . Unfortunately , Jak & daxter didn't live up to it's hype . It plays very similar along the lines of Super Mario 64 and I beat it Christmas Day upon Christmas Eve purchase . I read lots of reviews for it , (IGNPS2 and Gamespot) and both said that it was worth the buy even though it did borrow a little from Mario and the others . What they didn't say was how heavily it borrowed and I feel kinda suckered into buying it . Don't get me wrong , it's a fun game ... but it won't take rookies weeks to beat it . The graphics are great , but gameplay wise (which is the most important factor) it's no different than what has already been done .

Fun, beautiful game.

This was a most enjoyable game. The controls are simple to grasp so it's easy to jump right into the game. One of things I loved most about this game were the rich colors used. It makes the game very pleasing aesthetically all the way through and it has good replay value. Gameplay is fairly easy, but fun nonetheless. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Great graphics i.e. the volcano and story line i.e. the miner's work to get the diamond out of the rock, the defeated soldier crying and tie in to the overall adventure. The differences between Jak and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot are not even close other than it is a platform game and adventure. Overall I am glad I own this game.

Our whole family sits down to play this game, my 3 and 5 year old boys, my husband and me. One of us plays while the others tell him where to go. If we get in a bind and have trouble getting past something, we trade off and someone else tries. It's really a great way for us to have some family time together and teach the kids to think things through and work together.

This game really wore on my nerves; on my last nerve, if the truth must be known. Fine, I will admit that the graphics are decent and the story so-so, but the game play--THE most important element of video games, people--is complete garbage. I haven't been this disappointed since playing Blood Omen 2. Camera angles are awful, tending to work against you (okay, in this respect, I'll try and be fair: when it comes to camera angles, most games, nowadays, could use some major improvements). In my defense, I've played enough platformers to know the difference between a challenge and a chore. This game was a hassle from start to finish, an absolute waste of time and money. Do yourself a favor and buy either game from the Ratchet and Clank series. They are ten times more user friendly, and a hundred times more entertaining. Oh, yes, and just so you know, I beat this hunk of junk in a day.
