This is very fun but after you beat it there is not much more you can do except play your friends. I suggest buying it if you love fighting games and you are tired of the Mortal Kombat Golds, Trilogy's. All good games just remakes of each other. But I'd say, if you want to buy this...DON'T. Get Dead Or Alive 3 for XBOX but if you can't get an XBOX or DOA3 for it buy this if you are still hanging on to that Dreamcast.
short but sweet

This game has awesome features, for example, like survival mode, where you keep fighting (better w/Danger Reach ...you'll find out) until you receive a KO. Also, the L button + a direction lets you move around freely. Sparring is like a "practice" mode. In Options, I would set your age to 99. Set it to 13 at first, then play. Then set it to 99. ...See the difference? Yea... Tag Mode allows FOUR players to compete, in a sort-of "tag" match. R Button tags out. I think Y or A tags yourself in. This mode even has special "tag" moves, when you tag out/in, you disable the opponent in the process. One little detail these programmer(s) left out...Codes. What is a game without codes, or bonuses, at least, for winning? I don't really know, but it's a great game anyway! ...So, whatever the case, I still think this is an ok game...for what it's worth. Buy it, take it, keep it, play it. Peace out.
Very Addictive & Super Fun game

If you like games like: Soul Calibur, Shenmue, Street Fighter (all versions/sequels), Mortal Kombat (all versions), Tekken (all versions), Oni, or any martial arts/karate game out there, then you will love this game. I played this one at a friends house for 1 hour on expert level and beat it. I love that game so much, it was very addictive...I don't own it yet, but i am looking to buy one for less [money]......
WOW!!...

I never expected anything graphicaly good looking on dreamcast
when playing so much on the Playstation 2 and looking at how
slow the processing is on dreamcast when you play crazy taxi 2,
but this game just pushed all the power that the Dreamcast had and made a game that really looks GOOD! I had bought crazy taxi
#1 for playstation 2 then later my friend was selling his dreamcast in order to buy a playstation 2 so I bought it from him with crazy taxi #2. I took a good look at the buildings and
you could tell how slow the processing was on Dreamcast,so i thought thats what I should expect to see on Dreamcast but when I played this game I was AMAZED!... The graphics were just as good loking as Playstation 2 (to bad for my friend)
The best Fighting game on the DC that rivals Soul Calibur

I won't go into all the GREAT stuff in this game, I think all the other reviews touch on various parts of the game that make it unique and SUPERB!!
However, if you are playing SOLO there is only so much you can do... story mode lasts 5 minutes (that's if you have a BAD day) and you can go through with every character in an hour or two! The sparring area gets REALLY old REALLY fast once you know most of the moves, and virtually the only part of the game that is of any difficulty solo is the survivor mode (which i have yet to complete.) Everything else is basically simple, quick run through and your done.
BUT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS!!! *smile* Remember, it's the BEST multiplayer fighter on the market.

This is my favorite game on the dreamcast. It has the best graphics that I have seen from any fighting game. The control is excellent. The characters moves are spectacular and easy to learn. The stages are interactive and amazing especially when you can knock somebody of a cliff on one stage and wind up at another. Tag battle is unique, something that you do not see in most other fighting games. If this game was as sophisticated as Soul Calibur then it would have been the best game by far that I have ever played. This includes arcade and home games.

I've been a gamer since the Atari days. During the NES era, I turned to PC gaming and stuck pretty much there until the last few years. Sick of the sim-heavy games (& many Doom clones) in the PC world; I missed the faster arcade-style games of the console world. So I got a Dreamcast.
I had really disliked Fighter games whenever I played them before. The learning curve was too much for what was essentially a quick-play style game. (Good moves typically involve memorizing long combos of individual moves)
After playing a rented copy of DOA2 I quickly went out and bought a copy. It is easy to pick up the fighting system, and you can quickly find yourself kicking serious butt. While the special moves still require memorizing combos, they don't seem as hard as other games, and they're not required to be able to beat the first few levels.
This is the one game in my DC collection that I keep coming back to and playing.
One hell of a fighting game

I loved the original Dead or Alive for Playstation, and the first time I laid my eyes on Dead or Alive 2 for the Dreamcast I was drooling. The game is that damn good. The graphics are fantastic, the characters look so real and they are rendered beautifully by the DC's awesome graphic processing power (even the bouncing breasts look more impressive). The game itself is one in a million, the moves are easy to execute and there are a lot of extras that will keep you busy for a long time. This is the second best fighting game on DC, the best is Soul Calibur, I recommend getting both of them, they're worth buying a Dreamcast on their own.
