When I started playing this game, I thought it would be just like Soul Caliber, but I was way wrong. It's much much better. More game modes, better game modes, better graphics, great gameplay. This is truly an all-around great fighting game.

well they tried to make a storyline, but it wasn't to my extent a real story. They give you a few lines, and you mostly have to figure the rest out. If your looking for a game with a story, dont buy this. but..

If your looking for an all out fighting game i think this is great. its pretty realistic ( exept for all the damage a human can take without his/her fighting being affected, but hey arent all fighting games that way?) i think this rates as a fighting game better than all the others like teken, streetfighter, or marvel vs capcom. this game definetly rules over them. its not to confuseing, but i must admit it gets boreing after a little tme of playing. While its good for a short rental period, i would wait till this game gets a bit cheaper to buy it. right now its up there with NFL2k1 and other very popular high priced games where it doesnt belong.

There is also one strange fact i noticed about this game. its got quite bouncy breasts and other semi-perverted parts to it. Whenn you give the girls a certain costume,(i might mention another good feature about this game is its many costumes for all the different charectors. altohugh some are rather awkward such as that freaky disco dude's mohawks and telitubby suits, but their fun.) anyway if u give the girl their costumes with their skirts, your in for a suprise!

Wow! These graphics are the best ever!(Except for Jet Grind Radio) This fighter is fun! It is hillarious how the english interpretations always end up never making sense(everyone talks in Japanese) Also, It is very easy, but you can adjust the difficulty level. Varied fighting styles and great arena's make for the best 3d fighter on the Dreamcast to date.

I not much of a reviewer so, I am only going to say is that this is a worthy follow up to the first one. I have to say, I liked the first one because of the appeal by the women and in this one it's even more unbelivable(I'll leave it to your own imagination). The graphics will blow you away and every character has a cool story that follow up your gameplay. Loads of fun. If they could only use weapons in the next one. Cool thing is that this sequel is more fairer than the original. In the orignal 2 quick blows could seal the fate of your opponent in this one at least 4-5 counters is needed to put you away. Just take my advice and get this game.

Great game.. if you have some friends to play it with

This is one of the superior fighters out on the market today. Wonderful graphics, sound, and gameplay! The different combos, reversals and grabs always keep it interesting. I would like more stages to play on for the different game modes such as tag team and survival, but the one they provide is good enough. This game is most fun in multiplay. Tag team is awesome, and the interactive stages in the Versus mode really get the blood pumping. If you don't have anyone to play with however, the fun may not last long since there are very limited options in single play aside from Story, time attack, and survival. There are no secret characters, mission mode, etc. But if you get some friends together, be prepared to be playing for a long time. Dead or Alive 2 is addictive!

Collisions badly handled, too little variety, but solid game

1) Be forewarned that the graphics are a little "lazy" - the collisions are handled fairly poorly, so that fabric, hands, legs, etc all overlap and slide into each other pretty much all the time. Body parts do not stop when they hit body parts.

2) Be forewarned that characters, costumes, and backgrounds are limited -- I'm spoiled by having dozens of characters and arenas... the limited variety in DOA2 is frustrating.

Otherwise solid game...

And, hey, do not make the mistake of comparing the look-and-feel of this game to Soul Caliber, ok? This is closer to silly cartoon-like games like Marvel vs Capcom or Mortal Kombat Gold. It is cartoonish, highly stylized. It is not trying to be super-realistic. It's a beautiful, internally consistent, and good-looking game taking its stylization into consideration. Game play is fine. Fun! Easy enough, and with some variety for skill-building...

This is one of the best games I've ever played in all of my existence! You have STORY MODE (each character has a different storyline complete with segue movie clips), VERSUS BATTLE, SURVIVAL MODE, up to 4 player TAG BATTLE, multi-leveled fighting arenas and stages, and loads more! A monumentally vast improvement on the first title. My friends and I hold weekly tournaments. Female characters are super sexy with mind-blowing 9 hit combinations, grabs, deflects, and other such trickery. BUY THIS GAME!
