Godzilla

I have a 4 year old and a thirteen year old. My 4 year old loves all Godzilla products including movies. This was bought for him. They both love it. The neighborhood kids love it. One child is 5 and the other is 9. They all want to come to play Godzilla. I would recommend this product even if your child is not into Godzilla. There are many animals you can battle with. As you battle you unlock many new creatures.

Not bad, fun for awhile.

Earth is under attack by an alien force. Power crystals appear which give off radation and all of the classic monsters return and get very powerful. You begin as Godzilla and are assigned different missions all over the Earth. You can choose your own path. Will you help the aliens invade, or will you fight them off.

You earn points in what ever plan you choose. These points can be used to buy additional things to help you in your quest. You can also combat one-on-one with friends. For me this was the most fun aspect of the game, as the silly story line would get old after awhile.

This is an average game, made available on the WII franchise. There is nothing spectacular that sets it apart like some of the other great games that make use of the very unique system that is the WII.

Fantastic!

This game is a blast, my 11 yo plays it constantly, and he is VERY picky about his games. Lots of action and numerous fight combos. Highly recommended for monster game fans!

I'AM BABY BOOMER GENERATION AND SO I BOUGHT THIS AND HOPED THIS WOULD BE A FUN GAME...WELL, ITS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS...I HAVE BOSE SPEAKERS AND THE HUGE SOUND OF THE MONSTERS WALKING, RUNNING, FIGHTING, BUILDINGS COMING DOWN, PLANE AND TANK ATTACKS MAKE IT HARD FOR ME TO COME OUT OF MY GAME ROOM I ENJOY IT SO MUCH...OF COURSE I'AM SURE THE NEIGHBORS AND MY DOGS THINK SOMETHING HORRIBLE AND SCAREY IS GOING ON OVER HERE..WELL, IT IS, AND IT GREAT FUN...CONTROLS ARE GREAT, SOME UNUSUAL HUMOR I DID'NT EXPECT...HAVE YOU NOTICED?? VERY FUNNY....I ESPECIALLY LOVE GODZILLA'S HEAVY BREATHING AFTER HE'S KNOCKED DOWN...GREAT, GREAT GAME, EVERYONE SHOULD OWN A COPY, YOU WON'T BE SORRY...HAVE FUN...ONE LAST THING, IF YOU EVER HAVE A CHANCE TO PURCHASE BOSE SPEAKERS, THIS GAME WAS MADE FOR THEM, I'AM IN A AVERAGE SIZE COMPUTER ROOM AND WHEN GOZILLA IS WALKING THE HEAVY SOUND OF HIM IS BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS AND FLOOR SO HARD YOU FIND YOURSELF STEPPING BACK FROM THE SCREEN, AND THE ROARS JUST SWIRL AROUND YOU WITH HUMUNGOUS SOUND...YES, ITS A VERY SCAREY ROOM TO BE IN WHEN GODZILLA AND EVERYONE IS HERE, BUT I LOVE IT...

a bit slow moving

Game has some good potential but felt too limited. Would benefit more from a more open environment.

Also the controller doesn't feel as intuitive as I would like. This makes the action feel rather sluggish.

Pretty good, but probably below my age level.

I play a lot of the mainstream video games even though I am in my early 30s. I was super excited when I heard that Godzilla Unleashed was coming out because I was interested in inviting my friends over and destroying them as various monsters.

I agree with many of the other reviewers who say that the story mode is pretty weak. As this wasn't my primary interest in the game, we can let that be. I think that if I was in high school, this part of the game would probably suit me better.

As for the fighting mode, it is a lot of fun at first as you learn the different moves. However, you have to play the story mode to unlock many of the more compelling characters. Moreover, the graphics are only mediocre, and it is not a game I would bring out in a party. Again, I think if I were younger I would overlook these drawbacks.

All in all, I think it is worth purchasing if you can find it in the $30 range. If you are in high school, go for it at the normal price!

Pretty Fun Game

Being that I had never played a single Godzilla game before the day I
received it in the mail, I must admit... when I turned the game on, I
didn't really know what to expect. The game has a confusing setup, and
seems to focus more on mindless destruction of major cities. But then,
what 10-13 year old boy DOESN'T want that in all of his games? Now, I'm not saying the game isn't fun. Quite the contrary. I'm just saying that if you are looking for a game with a good storyline, this is not what you've been searching for. However, once you have all of the controls figured out, you can have all the fun you want just running around New York City destroying huge buildings and beating random giant monsters. Overall, I would say that this game would be good for the kind of people who enjoy games like Soul Caliber or Super Smash Brothers. However, this game has slightly more complicated controls. But, once again, when figure all of the systems out, it can be pretty fun.

Better a Monster Masher than a Car Jacker

I'm not an avid video game player, hardly play them at all. I got this for my nephew, who is six and a bloody genius when it comes to wielding a video controller. I watched as he flew through this game. He loved it and that alone is enough to give it five stars from me. I wish I was up to speed, video game wise, so I could give this game the proper review it deserves, but I'm not. I only know my nephew has been playing this a lot over the last three or four weeks. He squeals with joy and that's pretty good. Better him playing at being a monster masher, than a car jacker, and that's a fact Jack.

Fun, but not addictive

The worst part about video games is the addiction factor. Everything around the house gets left undone while you think "just a few more minutes" or "just one more kill". You'll be safe with Godzilla Unleashed because you can actually walk away from it.
Don't get me wrong, this is a fun game. The story line is a bit hokey (I would expect nothing less) but you get to choose who you will be. Its always fun to destroy buildings and kill other monsters. The crystal thing seems a bit of a distraction, but it does provide you with another enemy. I'm not a huge gamer, so it could just be me, but I found some of the moves using the Wii-mote and nunchuk to be somewhat awkward. The graphics are fair to good (I've seen better and much much worse).
I am definitely not a person who will play a video game on my own for hours on end. But if I have a chance to beat up some friends I'll stay at it for too long. This can be good or bad, but with Godzilla, you won't stay up all night.
For Wii parties, not my first choice. For something different, and sort of a trip down memory lane, this is pretty fun. I think kids in the 10-12 range will like it the most.

Enjoyable game for all

I really enjoyed playing this game. The tutorials are very nice and the hands on approach makes learning the moves much easier. Also you aren't bombared with moves. You learn a few at at time and once those are mastered you learn more throughout the game.

The graphics are ok,to me the game seemed kind of dark but this is Godzilla and it didn't look bad just a little boring.Being able to choose which character you want to play as is also nice.It gives you a chance to try out different moves and decide who you play best as or change things up a bit and play as a different character. The game is not so hard you want to give up but not so easy you can do it with your eyes closed.I think they found a nice medium in play that will keep you interested enough to want to finish the game.

One thing I did not like was some the repetition coming from air command or whoever is giving orders. If you don't do what they want you to do they will endlessly repeat it.Like kill whoever over and over can be annoying.

Over all this is a fun game most of the family can enjoy with the multiplayer option.I think It is a game to rent before you buy to make sure it is right for you.
