Boring, but addictive

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 1

I bought this game Friday night. I played it all night, finally going to bed at 7 am. While it's loading (it takes a while to load stuff) I think how boring it is, but I just can't stop playing it. It's addictive. The Sims look like lego people, and it sounds like they're speaking French or sumthin. All you really do in the game is look for "essences", design the inside of buildings, and design houses. Overall, though, I like it.

Simple, boring, and tedious.

There is nothing remotely challenging, interesting, or fun about this game. It is the most boring, most tedious, and least fun Wii game I have ever played, and one of the very worst games I have ever played on any game system. There are no redeeming qualities about this game. The only way in which one might find this game amusing for more than about 5 minutes would be if one were about 4 years old or mentally deficient.

The first clue is the characters themselves--all of them appear to be about pre-school age. Normally, I'd be upset at Electronic Arts for making a game like this, but by making all the characters toddlers themselves, and putting several of them right on the cover, it is clear that Electronic Arts is not trying to hide the fact that this game is designed for toddlers. Still, it'd be nice if the ratings system had more categories--there ought to be one that warns teens and adults that they will not find a particular game such as this one remotely interesting.

This is not like a normal Sims game very much at all--it is much, much more tedious and boring. This game is all about building things, and building things is not at all fun and is very boring, tedious, and simple. Any 4-year old will master the skill within 15 minutes. Generally speaking, the game tells you exactly what part to use and where to put it until you are done building whatever it is that you're supposed to build. You bump into the other people in the neighborhood, and all they ever do is tell you to go build something for them. The only other things this game involves are, basically, walking around shaking trees, digging in the ground, and fishing in lakes, all of which are very simple and quickly get very boring. You do all these things to get these things called "essences." But all these essences do is allow you to build more things. And that's it. Yes, it's all about building things. And there's nothing remotely interesting about building these things, and nothing interesting about any aspect of this game.

If you were thinking about buying this, I'd definitely advise renting it first, although I wouldn't waste your money even on a rental if you can avoid it. Some games I do not enjoy but can easily understand how others might. This is not one of those games.

On the other hand, it could possibly be a great game for small children. I'd consider trying it out if I had a child of anywhere between 3 and 7 years old, or if I were the guardian of a mentally deficient person. Otherwise, this game is absolutely horrible. There is nothing remotely fun, interesting, or challenging about this game. It is only slightly better than watching paint dry.

I bought this for my youngest son (8)and he and my older son love it. They actually play it more than Spider Man Friend or Foe (which they received at the same time).

Best Game I've Ever Played!

It's absolutely fun! There are endless hours of fun and infinite possibilities. And the fact that the characters look like little kids is very refreshing and wholesome. It's a cross between Animal Crossings and Harvest Moon. It's really adorable!

First SIMS game

This is the first game of the SIMS genre that my family has ever purchased (or even really seen much of). For years I've heard people talk about "Sim this" and "Sim that" ... "Sim City" etc. Based on the popularity I figured there had to be something to it. So when my 9 year old wanted Wii MY SIMS I figured, "finally, we'll be part of the SIM craze."
Ok, I just don't get it. The game seems tedious... no the game IS tedious. And WHY god, WHY would EA make all the Sims talk in that "teletubby gibberish? As a parent do you know what an hour of listening to that babble will do to your brain? I'm getting ready to climb a tower with a high-powered rifle. If my son ends up liking this game, I'm moving the Wii to the basement.

I give it 2 stars because I know kids love it... so clearly I've crossed over into the "you hooligan kids get off my lawn" phase of life, but lord have them speak a real language.

My son loved the idea of the Sims games for the computer but never quite got the hang of what buttons to press to get characters do do certain things (when social services came to take away a baby one time it was major trama in our house and I don't believe he's even tried the game since). While with most Wii games he has trouble working the controller to get it to do exactly what he wants on cue with MYSIMS he's having a blast creating his own little world.

If your a big fan of the regular Sims for the computer then you may not enjoy this game as it seems very simple and of course the characters are cartoonish but for kids and adults who just want to have fun, relax and take a break from everyday life then it's a fun game worth checking out.

My Sims is the BEST game that I own for Wii! It's a lot of fun, but some of the times the tasks that you are given are way too hard. Basicly, this is a more kid- friendly version of the other Sim's games, which are mostly for teens. You create a character , you can vary its hairsyle and hair color or there clothes, ang even their voice. In the beginning you go to a town and the whole place is a big mess, so you help to fix it up. The town's people give you tasks, and once accomplished you get star points. The more star points you get the nicer your town looks, and there are more places you can unlock. Once your town gets to a certain star level, Sims will appear in the hotel every day and they can be invited to live in your town. Some of the Sims will open up businesses and others will just live there. Your character can talk and interact with the other characters in the game. Once you give a Sim enough stuff or are nice to them a lot, they will give you a cool item, sometimes a blueprint or even clothes. You can decide what kind of Sims live in your town, I personally like a variety but if you want everyone in your town can be obsessed with food! Overall this game is very addicting and entertaining. I definitely reccomend buying this AWESOME game!

Highly addictive!

The game is very addictive will lots to do. You can spend endless hours building house, performing tasks or interacting with other Sims. My only complain: the lag time between actions. The game could have been designed better to avoid that.
