Hours of entertainment

I've never played this game myself, but I can tell you that I can't pull my 13 year old daughter away from it. She's spent far too many hours playing this game and absolutely loves it!

fun, if not for the lag...

Mix what's great about 'The Sims' with what's great about 'Animal Crossing,' and you get this game. MySims provides endless hours of fun as you move through the world making new friends but also having a hand at shaping your town. Pick who moves in, decorate your neighbors' houses and the rest of the town a certain way, and you can have your town appear to be more scary, geeky, cute, etc. As you progress, you also unlock new areas of the town allowing you to invite more people to move in and set up shop. Fun fun fun!

However, progression in MySims also starts bringing about longer loading times and lag. When I first bought it, I played this game for a good two weeks straight. Unfortunately, my patience started wearing thin with all the loading/lag (at times, I could get up, go to the bathroom, come back, and it would have just finished loading, if it had finished at all). Haven't touched the game since. When I have more time and the patience, I'll try to go back and finish my game. Until then... But a fun game nonetheless - I still rate it 4 stars! If only EA would have addressed this loading issue earlier, it would be a much better gaming experience.

MySims not Animal Crossing

I really tried to like the game, my 6 year old likes the workshop and building/decorating of your house. It lacks the charm of Animal Crossing (you gotta love Tom Nook!), and the constant loading is a annoying, but we'll play it a bit more before my final verdict.

Right now, EA Playground is our family favorite. I'm also loving Mario Galaxy.

MySims is for everybody.

MySims is what it is. A building game. If you love designing homes in Sims and Sims2 games on PC then you will definitely find your niche in this Wii game. You have real progression and even an end goal. Loading times are no stranger to Sims fans so I usually just enjoy when it loads before the tiles are done coming up to cover the screen. This is a great game and I recommend it to any one to try.

Fun for me and the kids

My daughters, ages 8 and 12, really like this game and so do I. We each have our own town (there are three slots available) and have fun watching each other play. It is appropriate for young kids (nothing suggestive like the sims PC games) but still fun for adults. I wish there was the ability to visit their characters and towns when I am in my game. I also wish that we could play with more than one player at a time. Those are small wishes though - we all love this game. Load time is a little long, and there is a load screen every time you enter a room or go to a new part of town. It is easy to lose track of how long you have been playing.

MySims a game as short as its title

While I thought MySims was overall a fun game, it was relatively short. Going from a 1 star town to a 5 star town took very little time and effort, in effect ending the game. However, the game still continues. You may still make things, invite other sims, and learn new patterns from them, but all the "secret areas" have been uncoverered and collecting every type of essence(a special item that you need for creating things in the game)is very easy as well. The game itself is a nice time passer, similar to solitaire. Of course most of the playtime in this game consists of loading screens, which arent quite as much "fun"

A surprisingly fun hit!!

To be honest, I'm not a fan of the Sims series. And when MySims was announced I had no plans to buy it. But in the end I bought it for my sister for a birthday present. And I'm glad I did.

This game is incredibly addicting. From the building items for your neighbors to interacting with the chibi-sims, it's an all-around fun game. It doesn't play like a Sim game and without the Sim talk the characters use you probably wouldn't think it WAS a Sim game. But going around sprucing up your town to get people to move in is enjoyable and never repetitive. It's very difficult to put this game down once you start playing.

I only have two complaints about this game. The bigger your town grows the longer the load times are, as is the staple of the Sims series. And there's just too many characters (though they are adorable) and not enough places to move them in. The majority of the town involves excavating and wandering, which makes the story interesting with many fun items but there's just too many of these items and just not enough lots. I hope if there's a sequal there's less emphasis on the essences and more on the characters. I also hope these characters return in a sequal, too.

Definitely pick up this game if you're a fan of the Sims or Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing; the game plays like the latter two as well (though thankfully without Animal Crossing's real-time clock). It really is a fun game and a good addition to your Wii library.

More fun than I thought it was going to be

We bought this for our 10 year old son to play. He started building his town as I watched while doing other things around the house. My mistake was sitting down with him and really watching and helping him out!!! I was hooked!! The next night he helped me create my town. Now I understand how you can sit there for hours playing.

Lots of fun but something is missing

The game is great and have a lot of features that take advantage of the wii controller, the construction and design of furniture and other elements in the houses of all the characters make the game very appealing.

The downside of the game is that there is no interaction between character, unless you need essences for coloring and building materials.

If you think that this is another game of sims where interaction and relations are the main goal, you are better of buying another game. This is a different approach, a very nice but different approach.

I recommended if you have kids, because it is very fun.

Speaking through my girlfriend...

i bought this game for my girlfriend...and it was a game that i thought would be really stupid but i knew she wanted it...so i got it for her

at first it seemed incredibly boring but after watching her for a while i'm kind of getting into watching her do stuff and i find myself giving tips on what i think her sim should do...haha...i have yet to play it but its looking more and more appealing

she absolutely loves it and spends most of her time over at my house playing it...so i figured i would write a review...

she said that the game deserves 5 stars for fun but the game overall could use a couple improvements (as any game can) and so she said that for overall she would give it a 4

this game is great for anyone who likes a "calm" game to play with objectives and fun little things to do when you're not completing tasks (things like fishing, prospecting-basically walking around with a metal detector type thing, talking to people, planting trees and taking care of them, collecting objects, building all kinds of things, etc)...great for people of all ages
