Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are going to be the best games ever. Coming out in September these games are perfect for people who like the pokemon games and who have birthdays in September and October are gonna be lucky because these games will go out of stock fast. Faster than Jay Leno's Hot Rod's top speed!!!!!!!!!!

Great but could be better!

Im 18 now and im still a big pokemon fan! I love all the pokemon games. I love the old layout theme but i think that it could have bene better if:

Ash or (red) was in the game
The time and date was restored
you could get to lugia/ho-oh island without nintendo's help

MISSED opportunity!

Once again, Nintendo has found a way to blow a good opportunity. Don't get me wrong. The games sound good, but there is one problem: they lied about catching them all. If you could catch them all, instead of picking Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle as a starter, you could find and CATCH them in the wild. You can't do that in these versions. Maybe I'll get this game or save my money on something else. But, for once Nintendo, make a version of Pokemon in which you can REALLY catch all the Pokemon without buying another game in order to catch a certain pokemon. PLEASE?!?!?

This is definatly worth the buy ;)

I love this game! It was the first GameBoy game I bought, and the whole reason I even bought a GameBoy. It has great graphics and the plot is interesting if tiring at times. However, I would not suggest challenging the gym leaders until you've got your Pokemon up to about their level: not because it's hard but because if you don't you'll fall /way/ behind later. The first time I played I had to train for about 5 hours after I reached Indigo Plateu so the Elite Four didn't kill me. (Lorlei was the hardest, thinking my starter was Charizard ><)

The 4-7 Island sequence wasn't as good as I thought it would be, though. I give it a 4 ½ stars, only because it gets LONG, after a while, if you know what I mean. Definably a good buy ;) Buy it! I'm buying Ruby next.

great game!

you know, it's strange. when two pokemon games come out, one eventually outsells the other one! this may be a remake, but has added features, like the six islands you can venture to and find new pokemon from silver, gold, ruby, and sapphire! yipee!

Sorry Pokemon!

Ok, I saved up $40, for no good reason. I was extremely excited about this game, the wireless adapter, the improved stuff, the islands, and all that jazz. Oh. My. Gosh. I was highly disappointed. The only good part is the wireless adapter and islands. Ruby and Sapphire was wa-a-a-a-a-a-y better. I miss my Treecko....Anyway, it is basically like the first one, better graphics and the islands, and the wireless adapter. That's all? And didn't the Pokemon fad stop in 2002? I mean, really! I want more improvements! Honestly, a hit would be a sequel to Ruby and Sapphire. If your looking for this game to have cool improvements, this is not a buy.

Pros: * Better Graphics, thank goodness
* Islands cool
* Wireless adapter cool

Cons:* Same thing
* Nintendo is getting to pumped about Pokemon
* Ruby and Sapphire a lot better, made the game look cruddy

Sorry Pokemon, graphics and islands don't cut!

Oh yeah, see my review on Final Fantasy Tactics, It's titled" New thought for Final Fantasy". It's not negative, O.K.? Thanks for reading my review hope it helps!

This game is really fun. I first played pokmon silver and I think that silver and gold were one of the best ones. I would end up playing it for hours. Anyways pokemon fire red version is a greate game. I will give the "Pokemon Company" that. But after you catch mewtwo in cerulian cave, there is really nothing else fun to do unless of corse you wanted to buy the e-reader, e-reader slider card and get the aurora ticket to get ho-oh and lugia and deoxxys. Well you can spend most of your time trying to catch all the pokemon but there is just one problem to that. There is just one pokemon in the whole game that nobody knows how to get. Celibi. Celibi is a very good pokemon to have if you know how to use her right. There is only one way that I know how to get her. You have to trade her from pokemon silver(If you know how to get her from there, cuzz if you dont then you really need some help). Well I think I m just about done so later.

Fans of pokemon red and blue will love this old skool fun!

WOW! Fans of Pokemon rejoice! For you people out there who think that ruby and shaphire are just too flashy and their repective pokemon weird this is for you.Catupalting you into the old days without have to cope with tinkly music and tinted graphics (red screens for red version? ha ha.)this is great. With all your old freinds(Hi Charizard!)this game will have you throwing away your ruby and saphire in no time. Even if you had the original this is worth it. Anyone who thinks you should pick up the old verison is wrong. Why I gave it four stars: Until you get the RUNNING SHOES (after Brock near the aide)it moves slowly. Safari zone pokemon like Syther and kangashkan are hard to carch. In the beginng its just dumb. Are you a boy or a girl? Is your name red? erm... Whats my grandsons name? Professor oak is soooooooo dumb...
HINTS FOR BEGINNERS
to get your first pokemon try to walk in the grass in palet town. THE LONG GRASS.
get the parcel from the mart in Viridian city. YOU MUST DO THIS!
Anyone who says BULBASAUR is the best starter for beginners is wrong. You can just pick your fav! Train all your pokemon. This will help you move on. Especialy if you cant beat a gym leader. thats all!
