This game is so dumb! Why don't people let the world of Pokemon die? These people are going to keep making dumb games like these if people don't stop buying it.

Pokémon is childish!

Pokemon; is like so old; and Nintendo is sitting on the ledge of their backs trying to revive a game and trading cards for little babies and toddlers. Even the whole Pokémon fad are mostly consisted of 5 - 12 year-old Asians that can't do anything better than to play some Japanese crap.

Get to play something like Mario, and also play the old arcade classics like Galaga, Donkey Kong, Xevious, Pole Position, more others and the legendary Ms. and Pac Man which are all classified as the most popular games of all time - thus which you call are REAL games and not like a game that involves baby cute monsters with annoying little Anime characters battling with their.

Or, if you don't prefer to play REAL games then you'd rather spend playing sports and other stuff in the outside world. Oh; when will this craze ever die? So we can get back to our living needs?

Pokemon must die.

Sorry Pokemon!

Ok, I saved up $40, for no good reason. I was extremely excited about this game, the wireless adapter, the improved stuff, the islands, and all that jazz. Oh. My. Gosh. I was highly disappointed. The only good part is the wireless adapter and islands. Ruby and Sapphire was wa-a-a-a-a-a-y better. I miss my Treecko....Anyway, it is basically like the first one, better graphics and the islands, and the wireless adapter. That's all? And didn't the Pokemon fad stop in 2002? I mean, really! I want more improvements! Honestly, a hit would be a sequel to Ruby and Sapphire. If your looking for this game to have cool improvements, this is not a buy.

Pros: * Better Graphics, thank goodness
* Islands cool
* Wireless adapter cool

Cons:* Same thing
* Nintendo is getting to pumped about Pokemon
* Ruby and Sapphire a lot better, made the game look cruddy

Sorry Pokemon, graphics and islands don't cut!

Oh yeah, see my review on Final Fantasy Tactics, It's titled" New thought for Final Fantasy". It's not negative, O.K.? Thanks for reading my review hope it helps!

lame attempt of a remake

This game is a remake of the original red and blue pokemon games. while the first 2 were really good because the concept of pokemon was new, these are just remakes of the first one. pointless if you ask me. why would nintendo make a game exactly the same as the first. Yeah, you can link up with ruby and saphire, but why? It doesn't help the pokedex, in ruby and saphire, but it also doesn't help in fire red and leaf green. And why did they give it a different ad like,"new concept captures the game better." and also a different title I mean, I can imagine something like "POKEMON BLUE ADVANCE" but giving it a totaly different title is dumb. I don't think making this game has a point. if you want this game don't get it. Get red or blue. The originals you can't find in stores but you can find it online

MISSED opportunity!

Once again, Nintendo has found a way to blow a good opportunity. Don't get me wrong. The games sound good, but there is one problem: they lied about catching them all. If you could catch them all, instead of picking Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle as a starter, you could find and CATCH them in the wild. You can't do that in these versions. Maybe I'll get this game or save my money on something else. But, for once Nintendo, make a version of Pokemon in which you can REALLY catch all the Pokemon without buying another game in order to catch a certain pokemon. PLEASE?!?!?

Whats the point?

Dear god nintendo is remaking red and blue (green in Japan) versions!! Fire Red and Leaf Green are just red/blue verisons with updated grpahics and sounds and a few new features like the wireless adaptor, Ruby and Sapphire pokemon, able to trade with sapphire and ruby, and these new islands. Basicly you cannot go to Honnin or Jhoto it's just Kento another thing thats pretty sad about these games nintendo can make wireless link cables yet they can't put the new wrolds in? Red and Blue version where the best versions ever I'm sticking with the originals

Deja vu indeed.

It's not in the game.

When I was quite a bit younger, I picked up an import of Pocket Monsters: Green, and enjoyed it a whole lot. Why? Because there was some sort of magic in it, that pulled me into the game's wonderful world, that made me care about EVERY single move I made.

Recently, I picked up Pokemon Fire Red, just because I had never owned Pokemon Red, but only Blue and Green. However, even with the new items, trainers, etc., it still seemed like a rehash to me. And then I realized something, after playing toward Erika's gym...

The magic was not in the game.

I screamed. I wrapped myself in coils of shadow. "HOW COULD YOU?" I wanted to shout. "HOW COULD YOU DESTROY IT?!" The magic was gone. I tried to go back to Green, and there I huddled behind my ultimate, beloved Batafuri, trying to escape the empty world of Fire Red.
I tried it again after a month.

I shrieked again. Doom had come. No magic was there: all it was was a blank, cold slate of cold steel. I watched as my player zoomed around the screen, burning most all the wild Pokemon with my Charmander that I refused to let evolve. "This used to be fun," I thought. "I used to enjoy this..."

Better than ever

I have imported Pokemon FireRed from Japan and played through the Elite Four and a majority of the Island areas. It seems as though everything they've done wrong in the past, they've done right this time. Even some aspects that you never knew were lacking have been enhanced. Best of all, you will finally be able to get every last Pokemon (aside from Mew, Celebi, and Deoxys) if you've got access to Ruby/Sapphire, Colosseum, and FireRed/LeafGreen. The revamped Red/Blue from yesteryear will bring back a lot of old memories with the nearly identical storyline, but once you complete the main story, a whole new set of sub-stories begin. There will be enhanced e-Reader support and enhanced trading via the wireless adapter. If you get close to someone who's playing in the Union room, their character will show up in your Union Room, even if you can't see them. They could be in a nearby car or at another table at the same restaurant. As long as you stay close enough, you can trade with someone without ever even knowing who it was :)

Definitely get this when it comes out if you are even remotely interested in Pokemon. This truly is the best edition yet!

WHEN POKEMON HAPPENS TO GOOD MOMMIES ..

Okay .. so I'm a mother of 3 who has to be told by my kids to stop playing my game and come and eat dinner .. oh well. LOL

Anyway, this new version of the old game is pretty good. I certainly enjoy it much more than the original. My only problem is that I got VERY spoiled with Ruby and Sapphire. I miss planting my berries and I really miss my Blaziken! LOL I felt like I had to play this game FOREVER before I got my silly "running shoes". S L O W M O T I O N .. ugh! LOL

Pokemaniacs MUST buy these two new games however. It definitely adds to the experience and it was certainly nice to see some old names again. You can't trade with Ruby/Sapphire, etc. until you defeat the Final Four, but experienced players shouldn't take too long to get there. There are a few berries scattered here and there also, but no gardening. However, berries can also be traded once you are the master of the Elite Four.

BIG TIP -- Buy the NINTENDO POWER Strategy Guide if you haven't played the old Red/Blue games for a while. I felt a little lost at first and almost made a few BIG mistakes. BIGGER TIP -- do NOT buy the PRIMA Strategy Guide (see my review on that item).

No complaints really about the game .. certainly fun, true to form and brings back good memories. It was kind of fun to see a "MEAN" rival again -- I won't tell you what I named him! LOL I just wish that they had made it a little bit more updated .. more in line with the Ruby and Sapphire series .. but, hey, I hear "Emerald" is coming out soon so we don't have too long to wait! :)

Game on!
