Hard to say much that hasn't already been said. I too really enjoyed this game. It takes off where the first one left off with a couple of quick enhancements for game-play (rolling up over things) and a slightly different story. The gist of this game is simple - the tiny Prince has a ball and must roll up things to make it bigger so they may be turned into stars, satellites, constellations, etc.
What I love about this and the first Katamary Damacy was that you can put the game in, relax, and just play. After learning how to work the controls and grasping the logic of it, you end up (or at least I did) playing the game for hours. No complications, no heavy plots - just an easy, nice, light game with bits of off humor and several challenges, whether you try to make the katamari (the ball) as big as you can in as little time, trying to find that one object that's been eluding you for ages, or trying to beat your last time on the race track. The sequel does have a few differences in that there are a few challenges or *restrictions* to different levels, such as making the katamari as big as possible by using as few objects as possible, or the challenge of rolling a katamari underwater among several other things. But the general feel of the game remains unchanged and the "King" is... the King.
I recommend this game. It's fun for people of all ages. Admittedly there is some content on there that is adult oriented... and I still say that deep down this game is a stoners delight (anyone see the way they manipulated the **Hollywood** sign in the later stages?) but in general it's just great and not particularly violent. I'd shy away from the game if you're looking for a meaty plot or state-of-the-art graphics and game-play. But for someone that just wants to turn on their system, and disappear into hours of mindless yet oddly addictive challenges, by all means pick this up.
**The music on these games was always a plus too - in Japan they actually have soundtracks! But... an obscure fact, the music played in the 'items collected' menu is I believe a song called "Giraffe in Green" by Jun Miyaki.. at least Jun Miyaki did a rendition of it a few years ago (2002). You can hear it on a compilation titled 'Post Modern Bossa" - it's actually quite beautiful, but slower than this one.
Great game that fills you with love

Most people are confused and skeptical when you describe Katamari Damacy (or We <3 Katamari, in this case) to them, but so far, everyone that I know who has tried the series has loved it.
We Love Katamari is basically just more of Katamari Damacy with a new two player mode, which is the best part. Having two people control the Katamari adds a good amount of challenge and fun to the game. Teamwork is crucial and successfully rolling a large Katamari in two player mode is a very satisfying accomplishment. You'll find yourself cheering and yelling as the thirty second clock starts its countdown, and when the level ends, you'll look at the other player in a new light. You've rolled a Katamari together and that means something special. It's like in romantic comedies when people awkwardly trip onto each other and fall in love.
Noone truly understands the game, but We <3 Katamari is that awkward stumble that can somehow bring people together. It's just that great of a game.
Great Game

This is one of the most addicting games I have ever played. The graphics are cartoony and very cute, which creates a very fun and distinct artistic style. Also the music is amazing. It has upbeat J-Pop/J-Rock songs which just add to the whimsical feeling of the game. My friend and I would often find ourselves singing along.
As you roll your way through each level trying to make your katamari larger and larger you can collect new characters and little accessories for them. Doing so is one of my favorite things in the game. There is something addicting about putting flowers or giraffe hats on you're characters. But the most fun part is the two player co-op mode. In which you and a friend can team up to roll a katamari together. When you first start off it can be a challenge but after five minutes or so, with good communication, it becomes quite easy and enjoyable. My friend and I played for hours.
This game rocks.

It feels so strange describing this game to people who have never heard of it before. "Yeah, you play as this tiny little prince, and your father, the King of All Cosmos, got drunk one night and destroyed all the stars in the sky. Your job is to go around the earth with this psychedelic sticky thing called a katamari and roll stuff up into a big ball. Really, that's all you do - just roll as much stuff as possible into a massive ball, and if it's big enough, your gigantic, well-endowed father will shoot it up into the sky to become a new star. And, uh, that's the plot." WTF?
Yeah, you just gotta play it. And that's the best advice I can give. What exactly is it that attracts me to such a bizarre game? Perhaps it satisfies some strange compulsion of mine to just...roll things up...into a ball. I dunno, it's just plain fun. The controls are very simple - you only use the left and right analog sticks to navigate through your brightly colored, exceedingly cluttered environment. What really adds to the enjoyment of this game is the sound. Every object you pick up lets out a unique sound as it's unapologetically absorbed into your ball of junk, and it's quite amusing. Furthermore, the soundtrack is catchy and upbeat, and you're sure to get the songs stuck in your head for hours (days, weeks, months...lol). I also love the fact that this title is enjoyable and playable for both gamers and non-gamers alike. The controls are quick to pick up, and simple objective is easy to jump into. Truly, this game is just off-the-wall fun, and if you're willing to try something unique with a healthy dose of craziness, give this game a roll.
A Family game, nery fun.! easy for all..

My kids (ages 8 and 12) love this game. It's a quirky game in which you "roll up" different objects into a ball or katamari, trying to get it big enough within a time frame. You use the directional joysticks on your controller to move your katamari. One of the differences between this game and its predecessor is that you get to choose which character will do the rolling, and you get to dress it up.

I bought this game for my six year old grandson. It has minimal non-realistic violence and is also entertaining to watch as well as play. The concept is simple and easy to master.
