It's Time To Be God On Your GameCube

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 25 / 28

I was a big fan of the game for the PC. I bought the original one and some expansion packs, until I stopped playing in the PC and decided to play only on my GCN. When I heard one of my favorite PC games was going to arrive to the GameCube, I just went and bought it myself. So how was it? Just check it out:
- Graphics: The graphics are OK, but they're really far from getting it all that the GameCube can offer to its players, graphically speaking. The major problem in here is that you can get as close as you wanted to with the C-Stick. So you can't really see sims' faces with detail, because the camera is kind of far from the sims.
- Sound: The only songs avaliable in this game are almost the same from the original, which are very enjoyable classical tunes. The sounds from the electronic furniture can get you pissed off easily. The voice acting, even though understandable, is highly enjoyable, you can really feel what the sims are feeling, just by the way their voices sound. The dialogue sounds are almost the same from the PC version.
- Fun: The Sims is highly entertaining, eveybody knows it, since it's one of the top-seller videogames in the world. Almost everybody likes to be God, almost everybody loves The Sims. The game follows the same formula from the PC version, but it's not that good. Mainly because of the controls which are really complicated, even though you can get them after a little while. But it's still bad to have such complicated controls.
- Educative: The game is rated T for Teen but you can get for your kids without worry. I don't know why they call two sims making noises in a bed "Mature Sexual Themes". I mean, the game is totally clean, you can get the game for your kids without worry.
Overall, if you were a fan of the original PC game, buy it without worrying yourselves, it's a great game.

The Sims, The Number 1 PC game of all time goes onto the Nintendo Game Cube!!! Sims are basicly people, except the are called sims. On the game, you create a sim, choose it's hair, clothing, personallity. Then you buy it a house. You choose all the furnishings They have hot tubs to Tiki-Man Dressers. Then you play it. You tell it what to do and when to do it.You can make them get a job, talk to neighbors, and even order a pizza. The sims are very much like humans. The can feel jealosey twards another sim, or they can even love another sims. You can have a family of sims and watch them interact with one another. The sims is an excellent Game and I reccomend it to anyone. Be sure to get the Sims for Nintendo Game cube, and Try The Sims for the computer too. It is a great game and I'm sure that you will enjoy it.

If You Buy it You'll Like It!

This Game, I don't think is like any other game I have or will ever play! This game let's you control a little person called a Sim and you can do what ever you want with them. You have to keep them happy by telling them to use the bathroom (or else they will pee on themselves) or keeping there energy high by making them go to bed! You tell them what to do and this game let's you do stuff you can only dream about! Like calling a maid to come and clean your house that you built and then hook up with her. Or calling some people over and going and hanging out in your jacuzzi! Or if a robber comes you have to call the police and get them to stop the thief. This game is like no other, and is in a category of it's own! If you have played The Sims for the PC and if you have a gamecube,PS2,or X-box then you need to buy this it is 10 times better than the PC version. And if you haven't ever played it then buy it! Like my title says "If you buy it you will like it"! I can not say enough about The Sims for Gamecube. This Game will keep you busy for hours!

Oops, didn't make it the bathroom in time!

General/Summary: I was very excited when I heard this game would be coming to GameCube. That is the reason I bought one as I had no desire to own a PS2, PC or X-Box. I have wanted to play this game since I saw it for PC's. The long wait was worth it. If you have played any of the sim games such as Sim City, Sim Ant, etc. and enjoyed them you will love this one. You essentially live out the life of an ordinary Joe like you would live your own life. ''Get a Life'' is the only option when you start, which is a mission based game where you meet certain goals and progress your life and career till you win the game, which is a first for The Sims. ''Play the Sims'' is based on the traditional game where you control everything forever essentially. The game lasts as long as you choose as you play out your life and the lives of others in your neighborhood. This game mode is unlocked soon after you play the other and get past the first level. Rent or buy: Renting is always a good idea if you're not sure you will like this type of game but my guess is that you will soon be running out to buy the game. Gotta go, my Sim needs to go to the can again! Gameplay: The controls are very intuitive and laid out well. My only complaint is that giving multiple commands and cancelling same can be a chore at times but not bad by any means. You control everything as I mentioned. You can turn on ''Free Will'' which gives your Sim some power to control his/her life and it usually does the right thing but you can't count on it. If two things the Sim needs are close it may do somthing like eat instead of going to the bathroom and you can guess the result. You have to keep an eye on them at all times. In the modes when you are alone in your home you may wish to turn ''Free Will'' off but when you start having roomies its better to leave it on because it can be tough to control all the characters all the time, although swapping between them is as easy as pressing ''Z.'' Fixing up your place and buying things takes getting used to but you will pick it up in no time. The only problem I've had is when I want a non-player computer controlled Sim to join or follow me, such as wanting them to join you in the hot tub or play strip poker (yes, thats right) as an example. Another first for The Sims is a two player game which is loads of fun as you and your opponent compete against each other to beat the other guy/gal to certain goals. It can be quite funny in the process. Graphics: The game is in 3D and for the most part you can make out everything in the game that you can interact with. Its a 3/4 top down perspective. I wish you could zoom in more and really have the sense of moving about in real life but the game works quite well as is. I give the graphics a higher score because Maxis did a good job with what they had. The graphics can be a little fuzzy at times though but I wonder if this is the GameCube itself? I use S-video and all of the GameCube games I have are fuzzy to some extent, although overall not bad. Sound: The Sim jibberish is pretty funny if not repetitive. Soon you will know what your Sim needs and you better pay attention unless you want to pass out from exaustion or wet your pants from not making it to the bathroom. Yes, you heard me right. Your Sim counts on you to tell it to do everything. More on that later. The ambient sounds like the appliances, TV, hot tub, alarm clock, doorbell, phone etc. etc. are all very well done.

The Glory of The Sims Continues

The Sims for Gamecube is awesome. The gameplay is great, the graphics are unbelievable, and overall this is a great game:

Graphics:9.5/10
The graphics are totally sweet. the -.5 is because you can't zoom in too close and thats a real bummer. But other than that, everything looks real and will blow you away.

Storyline:8.5/10
The storyline is simple. On Get a Life, you create your own Sim, start off in your moms house and you have to accomplish goals in order to move to the next, goals such as move ou of moms house, get a job, get rich, etc. On Play the Sims, you have to accomplish 1 goal in Get a Life and you can play the freestyle Sims.

Controls: 10/10
The controls are really easy. All you have to do is move the cursor, click on an object, say what you want to do with the object, and your Sim goes and does it. As simple as that.

Music:6/10
The music to the Sims is kinda dorky. Its like old classical music with a new twist. Its ok, but it gets annoying after a while.

fun: 10/10
With the Sims, you can keep yourself entertained for hours. You can also play with a two player mode and live with the person your playing with .... Also with all the people, equipment, and accessories, your Sim will be as entertained as you will be.

Overall: 9.5/10
This game is the real deal. So much fun by yourself or two player mode. Dont rent this game because your not gonna want to take it back. An instant classic and an instant buy.

I would have given this game three stars, but this is one of those games where its frustrating at first but it grows on you.
It is basically a good strategy game in which you run the lives of your sims. The best part of all this is that you can build your own custom families and houses. (Being rude to the neighboors is always fun). But like some other reviewers agree, it takes A LOT of time to get any where with your life.
There's three modes in the game:
Get a Life - You create your own sim and play as him through life compleating tasks such as fixing the TV, or getting a good job.
Play the Sims - With this you can create a whole family and run their lives.
Multiplayer - This is were player one's sim and player two's sim can live in the same house and test varous skills such as who can fix the expresso machine faster.

The only bad part about this is that you have to unlock it. From a new game you can do just one thing: Get a Life and start in your house with Mom. As you play through stuff gets unlocked.
I still haven't unlocked the Multiplayer mode yet!

Also, unless you have the strategy guide, there's constant checking the manual to figue out how to do stuff. I would have given this game five stars if it had included at least some of the expansion packs for the computer version, or at least include SimsOnline.

Now if you'll exuse me I'm going to try and unlock the Multiplayer mode.

Knuckles the Echidna signing off.

I'm playing this 24/7

The Sims is a great game cube game. I didn't play on my game cube very much until I got this game. In this game, you can play two games: Get A Life or The Sims. In Get A Life, you start out by living with your mom, but later you get your own house and a job. Then, you need to get a promotion in your job so that you can be room mates with the "cool" people. It's hard to get a promotion, because in order to get a promotion, your Sim has to be happy. He/she can't be hungry, dirty, tired, smelly, etc. In The Sims (different then Get A Life but still on this game cube CD) you can create people in your own neighborhood, create houses, and put chairs, TV's, computers, and any household item in the houses. You can make friends, throw parties, order pizza, insult neighbors...but life doesn't go so smooth. Sometimes there are robberies at your Sims house, and you can lose your job if you aren't careful...

This game is great, and I know what you just read above is confusing, but if you get this game, you'll love it.

One of the best games I have ever played!!

The concept of The Sims was to be able to control a family. The games name origanaly was named The doll house. But since the game was a simulation of a family being controled by someone else the name The Sims was born. I have all The Sims games for PC (execpt online). The game was created very well. Graphics are very good. People speak in simulation language and the curancy is simolians. To be sucssful in the game you must keep your sims live well balanced. If you are looking for a game that is fun and will keep you busy for hours this is the game for you.

This is game is so fun! It's kinda boring at the start because you have to live with your mom but after you beat that level, the next house is pretty fun and it also unlocks play the sims mode. Get a life mode is fun (that's where you start out with your mom) and it has two player games and stuff. The play the sims mode is way better because you get to have a whole neighborhood and get make houses and families. Here are some codes for this game!:
get to the cheat code menu- press L and R buttons at the same time from here you just type the codes
all objects are free- FREEALL
unlock all two player games, locked items and skins- MIDAS
unlock first person view- FISH EYE
unlock play the sims mode at all times- SIMS
all thoses codes work too! this was a really great game you should buy it!

I don't know waht I was thinking when I wrote this.It sounded really bad.Duh!

The Gamecube version of the Sims is alot like the other one, except more challenging and more FUN!Every game needs a challenge,so let's not complain about THAT either!!

There are 2 ways to play this one. After completing a strange short dream-sequence,either play a levals mode starting in the home of a grumpy, lazy old mother and try to work up to living in the ultimate mansion, with a partner and even kids.Frustratingly, you'll need to buy a larger memory card to be able to return to a game after switching it off.The other way to play is the regular Sims style.

Creating your Sims is more fun than the computer version, with clothes of every colour and even your choice of eye colour, although it is hard to see the eyes from your couch. But hey,how cool is it to play this game on the comfort of your couch!!

If you think you might like the Sims then buy it!!Occasionally you may get bored but it's pretty great!
