If you have a minute to spare while you're running around doing missions, stop and look up. The graphics in this game are beautiful. The sky is fantastic and you can sit and watch it change from night to day. I was also impressed with the variables that the game allows for. You can do anything. You can follow quests given by certain people or make a name for youself. It is paradise for any ex-Thief players. You can steel everything. I would recommend this game to anyone.

Marrowind is an x-box game that never ends. You have lots of characters to choose from and you can be whatever you want. A thief, scavenger, traveler, merchant, and thats only to name a few occupations you can be. This game's graphics are very good and it's very addictive to play! Me and my friends all love this game, and I'm sure you will too!

Morrowind is an excellent game for Elder Scrolls fans and those that are oblivious to the Elder Scrolls saga alike. If you are running a powerful computer you will be in awe of the vistas that this game will produce. I recommend this game for any die hard RPG player that has a lot of time of his/her hands, believe me you will need it due to the countless quests and "things" that you can do. Also when you get the game make sure to download the patch as soon as possible. When you download this patch it fixes some bugs and creates a heath meter for the enemies that you encounter. This helps you know what you are up against. Instead of blindly slashing at an enemy that happens to have an ungodly amount of HP.
In addition the game comes with a construction kit. With this you can construct houses and dungeons, castles and forests then incorporate these products into your current game. But keep in mind that this construction kit may contain some spoilers, such as weapons and items, also the locations of certain cities, dungeons/crypts. But you can avoid that if you like. There are construction kit guides online that you can go to that will definitely help greatly.
Buy this game you won't regret it!

Besides being a great game, it can run on a 600mhz machine with xp, 256mb of ram and a 32mb video card perfectly.

The people that are not happy with this game fail to give you any kind of alternative. This game has flaws in the types of creatures encountered and perhaps the method of level advancement but in comparison to BG it is really much better. The only thing BG has is a better party system. Morrowind is limited to one party member but has has a much more "open" storyline. You can do whatever you want with your character for as long as you want. The playing area is HUGE! I've been playing it for about a month and have only explored a quarter of the map. The encounters become a bit simplistic at higher levels but I can live with that. If you enjoy exploring and looting then this game is for you. If you want detailed encounters with NPCs then you should look elsewhere. I would say the NPCs are on par with BG (If you exclude the number of people in your party; Morrowind is a solo game). It's worth 30 bucks.
Best 3-D RPG ever!...

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind is truly a masterpeice in every catagory you could think of; graphics, sound, background story, game-play, controls, etc. It wins in every catagory. Where to begin...Where to begin? What can I say? Morrowind is the ultimate 3-D RPG. I guess I'll start in the graphics catagory:
Incredible!... Beatiful scenery. Even on low or medium details, there really isn't much of a difference. Really, the 3-D graphics are absoluteley super-pretty in morrowind.
Here are some specific graphics moments to pay attention to in Morrowind:
#1: Dynamic spectacular lightning system. It isn't perfect, but I've never seen an RPG released before or at Spring 2002 that has produced such fast lightning system graphics. When someone goes near a light source that emitts light, IT ACTUALLY EFFECTS THEM. When it's any weather type at any type of day, there's actually a emitt of the weather/time of day light/fogg cast all around all objects and textures in morrowind. Splendid. There's actually a volumetric sun. It looks awesome. It casts bright light & shadow on all objects & textures in morrowind. So good! When someone pulls out a torch, the flashing lightning actually really looks realistic how it effects all objects and textures near it + the character using the torch. When you go near any light source it effects you. Fogg is amazing. Truly realistic. Amazing ash-storms. Awesome! And more.Unique dynamic lightning indeed.
#2: Shadows. WOW! Any object or textures casts a real-time shadow that casts onto any object or surface and changes size and acuratelley mimics the character's outline. Amazing.
#3: Water! INCREDIBLE!... THIS is the true star of morrowind. If you don't have pixel-shader enabled card, the water looks ok, but not great. Now let's talk about the opposite. WOW! The water actually has active ripples activated by wind swaying! And the reflection quality within the angle's view is amazing. Truly realistic. When it rained, I looked down at the water and my jaw dropped down. EVERY SINGLE DROP OF WATER ACTUALLY cReATED A RIPPLE + REALISTIC DROP EFFECT TO THE WATER! AMAZING!! And the realistic transparent view is amazing.
#3: Super-High polygon counts. WOW! Every object ha very high polygon count making their design realistic. The world truly nearly resembles real life quality design. Incredible.
#3: High-Resolution realistic textures and objects. Holy [cow], look at the resolution of textures. WOW! Everything is almost real quality texture resolution! And the objects realisim is amazing. I can't even explain it.
#4: Weather system. OH MY GOD, random changing weather, from rain to ash-storms, to foggy days, to dark days, from afternoon to night to morning time, to sunny days, etc. It's all awesome.
Those were basically all the major graphics notes. All else does not apply.
Sound? Great. Awesome. I'll start with the musical score:
Music:
WOW! Incredible classical music score. Suits the game perfectly, is very relaxing, is dynamic, but can be repetetive.
Sound:
Nice. 3-D hardware audio support is nice. Realistic reverb + voice + sound effects(except foot fall and weapon attack harm effects)and more. It is truly great.
That was sound, here is game-play:
Game-play:
Game-play??? Amazing. YOU CAN LITERALLY DO ANYTHING YOU WANT OR GO ANYTHING YOU WANT!!It's so incredible...here are some special notes:
#1: LIVE ANOTHER LIFE!... Play as any character you can imagine, from the heroic warrior to a secret assassin!
#2: Explore another world. The enormous game world is open, and free to discover. You can literally go anywhere you want and do anything you want!
#3: CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS:
You can involve yourself in a guild politics and a huge variety of quests. Thousands of characters remember you and your actions.
Performance:
Great. Ran fine on my computer, Dell Dimension 8200, P4 2GHZ 512MB of RDRAM, GeForce 4 Ti4600, Windows XP, and so on. Performance was VERY satisfying. The frame rate rareley dropped to an kind of slow state, and when it did, it was hardly noticeable with all that's going on in the world.
Story-line:
Nice. Cinematics and chats + omens and more represent the story well, and the story is graceful and interesting.
Morrowind is the ultimate RPG. No, rephrase that: The ultimate game. It truly is. If you've saved up about around 30$, and your looking for a game to spend on the market, THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT. Even for a First Person Shooter lover, this game is what YOU WANT. If you can buy morrowind, the money you saved that you spent is worth it!

First of all this game, in my opilion, is great. It is a first person RPG. It is one of the best games I have ever come across. Now is what dont understand is that either people hate the game, or they love it. Nobody thinks the game is just O.K. The game is a bit weird though, it is in midiebil times but there are these half human half creatures running around, that is what I think is weird. So review the game more to see if you really think you want to buy it or not, because you could be one of the people that hate it. Im just trying to help.
nyways the thing i like about this game the best is the music and sound combined with the graphics to make the game perfect, almost, the one thing I hate about this game is that you have to have a higher end system to run it. I have a 1.7Ghz processor and a geforce2 mx400 32mb. 256mb (133) sdram. And it runs kind of choppy at times and it takes its sweet time to load when I walk outside. But other than that it is the tightest game I have probably ever played.
Large world to explore

This game is one of the best and most flexible RPG games I've seen. It is extremely customizable, letting you play the game you want to play. I'm not just talking about a world-builder option, but the game itself is extremely open. Starting with selecting your character, you don't ever have to look at the stats to get exactly the avatar that suits your playing style... with lots of races, classes, subclasses, guilds, and even astrological sign. Once out in the world, every time you do something you would normally do, you get more experienced in that, making your character fine-tuned to do what you like to do. I spent a day swimming off the coast, gathering pearls, exploring a wrecked ship and undersea caves. At the end of the day, my athletics skill was up, I could run farther, swim better, (and fight those nasty pirannah-like fishies better). To broaden your horizons, low level skills are pretty easy to buy advancement in from trainers, but to get those high proficiencies in your favorite skills you gotta use them again and again. I love seeing the message flash by on the bottom of the screen "Your longsword skill has increased", right in the middle of winning a tough battle. Around every corner is someplace to explore from raiding egg mines to political intrigue in the high nobles courts. Be a theif, secret agent, apprentice mage, and accolyte of the local Imperial Cult, all at the same time.
