My mom bot it for us because she saw it was number 1 in parents magazine. But i loved it anyways. the graphics are better than on jak and ratchet. the gameplay is fun. iliked that you get to ride rhinos. there's a dance part in there that is funny and the little movies between levels are so funny. all and all this game is a lot of fun.

This game is really fun, i couldn't tell by looking at the back what the game actually looked about. After having it and reading so many good reviews on this game i just had to try it out.The game is adventure and brilliant from age 7 upwards. Ride rhino's,throw balls and the most of all the best part of the game is where every so often you come up to an animal or something and say if it is a gorilla, it is amazing how he pulls the banana off the tree and you stand on the leaf and when he lets go, you go flying. Tak is a jungle type of game collecting feathers on your way for extra health, brll.

I bought this game three days ago for my kids, ages 11, 13, 7. All three kids love this game. I as a parent like this game because it actually has some creativity and is not just a shoot em up platformer. The only complaint that I have heard from my children is on the collection of things. The kids have played it straight for three days, are not close to solving it and it seems to challenge their skills more than most other platform games. Maybe I will get to play it soon. The humor in the game is better and more wittier than I've seen. Also, you get to play with the animals throughout and I have not seen that before. For instance, you can put a sheep on your head and sneak past the rams. The voice talent I thought was great. The graphics are the best I have seen. I hope people enjoy this as much as my kids seem to.
A fun but slower paced game

After playing the intense Devil May Cry I decided to play Tak. I found it kinda boring at first, maybe the first hour, and wondered if I bought a clinker but this game gets funnier and better as you play it. The bosses are not too hard or easy. The play not too hard but there are some puzzles that take some thought, and you don't have too many enemies coming all at once except in a few areas and then it gets silly fun. I loved the JuJu Gods that you meet and they open secret areas for you when you deliver the items they want. The Chicken suit is totally a hoot, or maybe a clucker(?), and at first I couldn't get the hang of it but that was the callenge. Sneaking around with Sheep on your head was fun interesting in it's results. The reward cinematics are totally hilarious! I love getting to those because they are so darned funny. The Shaman who sends you off is not having things go well and keeps usuing you as the errand boy, but maybe you end up the hero? A few areas seem a bit repetitious but not on the whole. I found myself getting lost a lot because the areas are complicated levels sometimes. I find the snow boarding or sandboarding fun but difficult somewhat. Just have to get more skilled at it. I haven't finished this game yet but I have had fun so far. I would try it out, it's great for young folks and old alike. You can take your time on this one.I personally like the graphics for the cartoony style with the Simon Bisley like backgrounds, check Simon out on comic books. Mummies, shamans, jujus, moongoddes and offspring, chicken worshipers and nerbils. A lot to see here! Siberkat

There seems to a high number of positive reviews on Amazon with regard to this game. Not to question the integrity of these posts, I would strongly caution anyone thinking about the purchase of this game to rent it or at least do some research on the internet. We purchased the game and were very sorry we did not look into the game prior to purchase. We read and listended to many of the posts here and after playing firmly disagree. While not a horrible game, it is not very good either.
www.gamerankings.com is a site that has tons of reviews from different sources. Tak is reviewing medium to low.

If you like surprises (and who doesn't?), then get ready for Tak and the Power of Juju. It's based on some Nickelodeon property that most gamers have never heard of before (including myself). The box art shows a picture of the starring character, Tak, who looks like he's wearing purple eyeliner (did I mention that Tak is a he?). And when necessary, Tak will even don a chicken suit. Is this a nightmare waiting to happen? In most cases it just might have been. But this is far from your typical licensed property. Underneath the frightening exterior is a game that's entertaining enough to get adults hooked.Mario Sunshine aside, you won't find a prettier action/adventure on GameCube. It doesn't pull off any new graphic tricks, but it packs several of the effects you've seen spread out in a number of other GameCube games. Overall the game has a very polished look.
Tak and the Power of Juju is anything but an average marketing ploy. This game builds brand awareness and expands it into a market that was previously unaware of its existence. But unlike the average movie or TV-based game, Tak is fun! And unique. And addictive. It's what an action/adventure should be. Like Vexx but with less frustration and more creativity.
Calling all parents: when you go to the store to pick up a surprise game for your child this Christmas, consider the power of Tak. Tak and the Power of Juju appears to be a kiddie game, but it's much more than that. It's safe for the kids but it doesn't play like A Bug's Life or any other kiddie game. When the kids are sleeping you might want to carefully open the game, play it for a few minutes, re-seal it and stick it back under the tree. Or you could just leave it open and tell the kids that Santa brought it for you. Whatever you choose to do, chances are you and your family will really enjoy this game.

I bought this for my 5 year old son. He is really into these games and is capable of completing them pretty much on his own. I like the atmosphere of this game. The graphics are fun and well done. The characters are funny. This is not a dark and serious game like so many. The good (and bad) thing about this game is it's length. This is a very long game. The good part is that it won't be finished in a weekend. The bad part is that my 5 year old played it for over a month without finishing it and has burned out. Hopefully he will regain interest after playing something else for a while. I have really enjoyed watching him. (and playing parts of it when he'll let me).
pretty ... fun!!

this game is fun,has some challenging parts but not too much to stop playing. I would recaemend this game to only someone 9 or older. For a 7 year or younger old, they would be on the same levle for months. But for someone with MAD gaming skills it would be really fun.
Tak is so awesome!

I really like it. Me and my cousin played it one day for almost 24 hours straight. It does have some hard levels. If you buy it you won't want to get off of it! It is so much fun!

Does anyone remember Banjo Kazooie? Well if you do, you will LOVE this game! There is no way to express how FUNNY,CHALLENGING and COOL this game is.
It is so much fun to play this game, it's one of those games you play to watch the storyline, and to laugh your A-double crooked letter off.
There really is no way to compare Tak with anything else other than Banjo Kazooi, 1 and Tooie, its an exciting and funny game, worth every penny.
In summary just buy this game, theres no reason to miss out on one of te funnest games of the year!
P.S also check out MA:GitS, Kingdom Hearts, NCAA 2004 and Socom 2 if you find this game fun. My favorite is Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, its a lot like Halo for PS2.
Overall:
Fun- 15/10 A lot of fun, Not to mention FUNNY AS HECK.
Gameplay-10/10 Not too Complicated, Not too easy, JUST RIGHT.
Difficulty-10/10 A lot of fun, but not too hard.
Graphics- 12/10 So COOL.
Overall- 47/40
Does that not sum it up for you? This game is MILES above average. In fact it's MILES above "Extremely Great". Buy this game, there's no need to rent it first. But if you'd like to, you should rent it, You won't be dissapointed if you try this game out.
