Very good for a Star Wars game

I've got to state up front that I suffer from major Star Wars burnout -- the first movie (1977) was great, everything else has been merchandising -- so my praise for this game is not given lightly.

Gameplay is smooth and dynamic, some Star Wars games we've had in the past have been really dreadfully behind the times, this feels like it's state-of-the-art.

The space combat is a welcome addition. My son clued me in on new characters previously not available to be played. It looks great on the screen.

Overall? For a Star Wars game, very good. For any other game, ok. It's an improvement on previous Star Wars games, but for my money I just do not want to hear Obi Wan Kenobi's voice encouraging me to trust the force or take a droidica apart or anything like that. I'm just sick of Star Wars in general.

Now, my son, who's eleven, thinks this is the best game he's played since Halo 2. So go forth and figure.

I bought this game yesterday after much anticipation. After a few hours of play,I didn't get the same feeling as I did with the first one. The graphics are slightly better(not much)then
the first. I felt that the space battle scenes where ok,but could be better. Being able to be a jedi was an improvement. Not being able to issue commands to troops is a down side. To sume up,SWBII is ok. Rent it first though before you decide to spend $49.99. Or wait until the price goes to $19.99.

Unlike other reviews, I can tell you everything you need to know about Battlefront II. First of all, many other reviewers have commented about the earn points to play as different soldiers feature.This is not such a big deal because you do not have to die to become a new unit.Just walk over to a command postand press the triangle button. Yes you can play as any hero from the Star Wars movies imaginable, but there are some other overlooked features as well.You can take part in fast-paced space battles, play a well thought out board game style game called Galactic Conquest(completely different from BFI's version), play 6 of your favorite levels from the original Battlefront including Hoth, Genosis, Endor, the Cloning Facility level(I can not think of its name), and play minigames such as capture the flag.They have also allowed 4 player action if you are willing to go out and buy the adapter for it.Bottom line, BFII greatly surpasses BFI but because of BFI levels that do not appear in BFII, I would not ship your old game off to the used game section at GameStop just yet.Besides, you will only get $10 for it anyway and its worth more than that.

I cannot believe that guy! This game is much better, I can counter everything that dude said!

1.The space battles, I admit, are all the same, but they do not get old! Never.

2.The reason jedi die more easily is so the other team HAS A CHANCE! If jedi were all powerful, than you'd win every battle, and the game would be too easy!

3.Utapau was a fine level (featuring General Greivous too!) but a two level battle must not have fit the budget or something. I also happen to know that when making a game, they have to watch the number of sides and poygons there are, if there is too many, the game will freeze or something, so they can't make levels too big!

4.I an an "actual (ridiculous) fan", and happen to know that ATAT'S are only used in that battle ONLY in star wars! So they wouldn't appear in a battle they aren't supposed to be in! The juggernaught tank is so big, it wouldn't fit in the battlefield! As for new viehicles, the old game only came out a year ago, so they probably didn't have time to put in ALL the thing like ATPT's and such!

5.Battles are NOT cluttered and confusing! They are just as open as the old game, plus, if you press select, the "mini map" pops up to full screen!

6. I agree with all the mistakes. But the nebulas are to put some colour in all the blackness of space. They moved the shield generators because it all needed to be in the same place, it would be too hard to remember the different places of thing for all 4 ships. If it's in the same place, it's easier for gamers.

In the end, I reccommend this game alot, so don't go listening to that dumb idiot MALGOROTH (GEORGIA) he has NO idea what he's talking about!

don't listen to that JERK! I say the game is perfectly wonderful, for STAR WARS fans and gamers alike!

Best Battlefront Yet

This game is action-packed. You can play as both soilders and Jedi. You can play as The Emporer, General Grivous, Yoda, Darth Vador and more.One downside is that the commands are harder to do. Besides that, you can finally have space battles. You can sabotage ships so the can stop moving, you can destroy their communicate with their flet, eleminate their amunition supplies, and their defendes. If you can conquer their ships, you pretty much won the battle.There are new charcters too. On the republic side, the is a person who has a rapid fir machine gun with unlimited ammo. On the CIS side, there is a robot who has a wepon the can take out multipule enemys. On the rebels side, there is a monster that does something.

HOW EXCITING!!

I got this game and the SW Episode 111 dvd on the same day which was the release date. Once I started playing this game I was very pleased. This is the only thing that really bothers me is the story mode because you have to complete certain objectives that got kind of annoying but besides that they still have Galactic Conquest which is awsome and so is Instant Action and you get to play as Jedi/Sith celeberties and HAn,Chewee,Jango,Baba and Lehia. This is a game I strongly recomened this game to die-hard Star Wars fans such as myself and fans of the original SW Battlefront and to some Battlefield,Halo,Unreal, fans. This game is so will worth the money!!!!

Ok, I was wrong: THIS is the best Star Wars game ever!!!

Like the title says, I was wrong. Battlefront II is the best game in this genre: From the ground battles to the space battles to fighting as a Jedi/Sith hero, this is what the original Battlefront should've been.
The best part is, as a beginner, i found cheats for infinite health and ammo to beat the game. This is a good thing for people who want to win the game and then they can play to win without them in the future. I know it's wrong to use cheat codes, but some people like to use them.
Anyhow, this is the game for Star Wars fans. If you liked the first Battlefront, you'll LOVE the second one.

Recap: Star wars battlefront 1 was the best selling star wars game of all time. It was in my opinion also the most addicting game ever. Even if you arent a star wars fan you would still love the 20 plus solder types and vehicles.

Review: People have said that Battlefront 2 isnt a huge leap over battlefront 2. Well, it is. The gameplay is similar, and why would you want it to be any different? This is the most intense action game ever. What other game has over 30 different soldier types and over 20 different vehicles? NONE!

People have said that the game gets repetative, that is untrue. Especially when no two battles are ever the same! The AI has no track to follow like in other games like HALO which made that game incredibly repetative. The AI in BF2 is also smart, not too smart, but smart enough to put in a incredible battle. The game is so hard because the AI is so good. That is the biggest plus of all because it has unlimited lasting value. Because the AI is so good this is NOT just a multiplayer game.

I am a huge vidio game player and have never played a game more addicing and exciting as this one. The space battles are a new aspect of the game. They are awesome and hard! You will get shot down a lot no matter how good you are, plus what other game lets you land in an enemys capital ship with a boarding party. Imagine landing 10 troops in a enemy capital ship and then sabotaging it and escaping just before it explodes!

The jedi aspect is a cool idea for BF2, but not all that great, I have to be honest and the jedi fights arent all that cool, but it is fun for a while. Let me just end with this, this is better than the best selling star wars game ever, and has already sold more than the first game, you are missing out if you dont have this game as most people who have the game agree.

Intro

I first bought battlefront 1 and i totaly and compleatly went crazy over it!when heard a battlefront 2 was coming out, i was very excited.so excited i pre-orderd it the day i heard about it.when i got bf2,i loved it.the gameplay is so much better,and you can play as a jedi AND in space!!!!can you beat that?if you read other reviews,thay might say that thay didnt like bf2 because you have to earn points to unlock other units (which ,by the way, there are 10 new units to play as)yeah well,GET OVER IT!!!!!!i personaly love the challange.the only problem i had with this game is that the makers only kept about 6 of the old levels(they got rid of rhen var,which was my favorite level!).all in all,a great game.if your hesitant to by this game because you dont know much about it,BUY IT,you won't be sorry.
