Dont waste my time

Wow! The game comes out in Dec 31, 1969! Does it come with an optional time machine?

As far as I'm concerned the game is vaporware. Don't give me that "oh no! someone stole the code for HL2!" The game is probably not even close to being playable.

More than Expected

I bought Half life 2 very skeptical. Ive played many first person shooters, RPG's in general and this game blew my mind. While it didnt take me extrememly long to beat it the storyline, character development, graphics, and details put most other games to shame. Keep in mind I did run this game on a laptop I have at college flawlessly. This game has great graphics, a challenging yet not impossible set of levels and an extremely realistic plot. I encourage anyone to purchase the half life series. I bought the game of the year edition that came with counter strike-source too which i think is a great idea. The only problem now is my expectations for other first person shooters are very very high. Let me know if anyone can find a game that rivals this. The only problem i had at all with this game was the second vehicle you drive the little buggy, was kidna hard to control but i guess that adds to the difficulty. Buy this game if you want intense, realistic, and in depth gaming. You WILL NOT be dissappointed.

Looking good! Now all it needs is to come out...

So far this game is looking really good! The graphics are very good (but not godlike as some reveiwers have put it), and the gameplay is superb. It's nice actually having things not slide around like the floor is made of teflon, and actually having lead be very hard to push over sand. The new facial expressions make the AI of this game that much more beleiveable, and this game's realism has surpassed that of all others I have played.

The story seems solid, although I have no real proof. Right now, I'm just going on gut instinc and past experiances. Half Life 2's script was written by the same guy who wrote the marvelous script for Half Life 1, so, unless he was abducted by aliens, emotionally scarred, or had some other life or personality changing experiance, we can expect the same quality of a story line.

But, like everything else, there is a downside. The oficial release date keeps getting pushed back. There's really not much we can do, and even less that we can say. So, the time has come to stop b*#%!ing and moaning about it and shut up.

OMG I just LOVED the part when Bill Cosby had that duel-to-the-death with Roseanne!!!...
BILL COSBY IS THE MAN.
He's my favorite playable character in HL2, aside from that hotty Steven Seagal, or maybe Tim the Toolman Taylor...
Hmm...So many choices...

Getting STEAMed up!

Do NOT under any circumstances buy this game for any reason whatsoever. It will not run on your system, or any system at all for that matter. The steam engine, which is what runs all of Valve's games at this point in time, does not work. If you check the Steam support website, you will find that basically every tech savvy gamer out there is getting the error "missing file: Steam.dll". Hundreds of people are complaining about this and have been for over a month. If you get an older version of the game, the steam engine will auto-update itself to the newest (i.e. non-working) version. There is no fix. There is no workaround. Valve has been promising a patch to fix this for a long time now, but no patch has been forthcoming. My advice: buy Doom 3 instead. At least it works.

the reviews have been coming in and pcgamer scored this game about 96% The reviewer said that this could be the greatest game he has ever played. Hl2 has been sent to rating boards to get the game rated, so expect the announcement of it going gold soon. As for halo 2 it will be an excellent game but the xbox cannot touch the pc in terms of graphics. Also i dont think they will change the multiplayer at all because why fix it if it isnt broken and also it has never been on xbox live before. It was also sad to see the leak of halo2 i think bungie deserves the money since they are putting everything they have into that game.

Half-life 2 blew my mind. I was completely drawn into the game. Everything was very realistic, and storyline just sucked you in. I'm a big fan of the original half-life, and needless to say I was anxious for the sequel to come out. My expectations were not only met, they were far surpassed. The only weak point, and I hesitate in calling it a weak point, is the ending. I was expecting more storytelling and an overall orientation of where things stood after finishing. Oh well, I'm very pleased. BUY IT!

By the looks of HL-2 at the E3 Expo,i think HL-2 will be a game everyone wants to own.The graphics is so good and the best part is the physics engine. It is really awesome. Those people who are fans of halflife should get the video which was shown in E3.As for the hardcore shooting gamers out there, this is one game u surely dont want to miss.
Although i havent played it,i would give it 7 stars (out of five)!Shame on u if u havent ordered it already!

Cheating in gaming vs a company that makes money

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 4 / 19

A problem with people that have played counter-strike and just about every other game is that they do not understand that
1) Cheating is a fact of EVERY GAME not just pertaining only to valve-made games. People get bored of a game (or think they're better than everyone else) and download a cheat that someone else has made. This leads to problems that a gaming company tries to fix, but these people that make cheats spend their lives making these disruptions. (just look at any virus maker)

They are made to mess people up and in fact cost gaming industries a ton of money and customers.
2) Valve is a company with a class of people who need to be paid for their knowledge of how to make games great. They plan for a new game while they are making money off ones they've already done... Does that make them criminals? not in my opinion. They do want to make their games fun and they HATE cheaters like the gamers themselves, because most of them are gamers. They want people to have fun.

And, Half-life 2, by what I myself have seen in previews time after time there is no comparison to a game that is currently owned. Some come close, but these people seem to know what they're doing. Thanks for your time.

The 5 Stars are for the fun I have had just watching the previews of the game and them showing off their creation to the world, just a tad bit at a time. (Get a taste, you'll want to come back for more, This time it better be in bigger portions!)
