The other day i ate 47 fire-hot buffalo wings in a row and then i started to trip. When i awoke i was in the future. February 2004. Half-Life 2 finally was released after being delayed over and over again. Anyway, i popped it in, installed the 1st patch (released 4 days after release) over steam, and then played multiplayer. It was really fun. I hope you all order this product because it will change your life. Also, think about upgrading your computer before now and then. =)

Now, obvioiusly I havent played the game but I have had the privelage of watching the 2003 E3 video of it. It is THE most breathtaking game ever to be produced. You wonder why it took them 6 years to make it? You wont once it comes out.
Physics: You can shoot a gurder bar hanging on top of a construction room and watch it come swooping down to crush multiple enemies, but wait.... one got back up.... but then the bar comes back down from the other side and takes him out again.
AWESOME!!!
Graphics: The graphics are next to life-like, if they bring out an half-life 3 the graphics will be life like. The walls of buildings actually look like bricks. Grass actually looks like grass. And water, well the water is life like.
Enemy AI: They are as smart or smarter than you. Say they chase you into a room in a house. You run in block the door with a table. Feel safe for a while right? WRONG.. the shoot the windows and come bursting through.... AMAZING!
I cant say enough about this game. It will likely get game of the year and possibly best game ever made if it lives up to its video which it likely will.

The sequel to the monumental Half-Life game released in 1998 came out of nowhere to stun both hardcore fans and new gamers alike. Half-Life 2 will raise the stakes by providing a new cutting-edge graphics engine, as well as using highly-detailed character models and advanced facial muscle technology for movie-like realism never seen before in a game. The story is once again written by Marc Laidlaw, so you can be sure of a exchilirating (and frightening) experience.
The game takes place in a fictional city called City 17 in Eastern Europe. At the center of the city is the Citadel, a 200+ story structure whose purpose is unknown. The mysterious structure is closely guarded by an international police force which includes robotic drones, gas mask wearing soldiers, and semi-robotic creatures. And this time you are working for the G-Man. But have you worked for him before, and what is his true identity and mission? Is he an enemy or a friend? This game is sure to pose more questions then it answers, which is probably the most exciting part of it all!
This is gonna rock...

Half-life was an insanely good game...I've been playing it and the expansions for years and it still exceeds many games being released today.
This game is going to outdo the first by far, as can be told from the incredible footage of the film, and will revolutionise the gaming industry and impact our lives forever...
Saw the E3 demo... A must get!!!

This game is going to change the gaming forever!!! A new standard for all FPS! Interaction with all the objects in the game enviroment, with believable and realistic physics, smart-as-hell enemy AIs, and most of all, the graphics! I can't believe it was in a game when I saw the screenshots; I though they were real locations where they used as reference photos to make the game, but then I realized they were in-game screenshots!
Bullets leave marks on EVERYTHING! Bump-mapping wall surfaces, Greates shader effects on water ever, and the facial animation of the characters are just too incredible to believe! This game is the relic of all hardcore gamers! Time to upgrade if you haven't got a decent video card! This game is what the hardwares are made for!

The engine for this game is landmark. I know a game developer who has inside information on the amount of money spent on this engine. Without really letting it out at this time, let's just say it's an enormous sum of money devoted to a game engine.
As the video taken at E3 shows, this game will truly be INCREDIBLE. The original Half-Life took the Quake 2 engine and made a much better single player game than Quake 2 was. Half Life was also the platform for the Counterstrike mod. The other day I went to a site that listed the number of players currently online playing several particular games: Quake 2: ~3000 players, Medal of Honor: ~6000, Quake 3: ~4500, and so on. Counterstrike: ~60,000 people, and it is 5 years old! With THE most advanced engine ever developed and a history of excellent story and single/multiplayer gameplay, this game will be SUPERBLY THE BEST.
Appealing the masses Valve.

If I could rate this game a 0 Star I would, or maybe even some negative stars. Halflife 2 will not have the same physics as Halflife, it's supposed to be more realistic or something or other. MORE REALISTIC?! I'm sorry, but I want my gliding, strafe jumping, bunnyhopping and ramp sliding that is included in the most popular Halflife mod, which is TFC. If Valve ends up making a TF2 it will end up using the same physics engine as HL2. Which means that TF2 will be a cross between TFC and Cr4postrike. I'm sorry, but I don't want it to be at all like CS, can we say "headsh[]t." Valve, give me TFC physics with upgraded graphics and features and I will praise your company.
A realistic game does NOT mean it will be fun or enjoyable. In fact I can almost gaurantee that it won't be fun/enjoyable, just take a look at Counterh4ck(CS for you not so bright). It's supposed to be 'realistic', when really it isn't at all, but is the closest thing that can come to realistic in Halflife. And it's absolutely horrifyingly terrible. When I play it, I just want to crawl up and grab a pacifier because it's so bad.
Now theres the issue of steam. Steam is not going to work it never will! We all know what happened when Valve was going to release it, it got leaked out before the release and was INCREDIBLY buggy, crashed and was just all around the worse thing ever. Quit wasting your time on it Valve, it will never work. Which brings me to another point. How about you make some updates and fixes for TFC, don't waste time on a mediocre mod like CS. We all now TFC takes far more skill and learning than CS.
All in all, this will be the most overhyped and worst game to date.

I was never a big fan of the past half-life but played it to pass the time. The new Half-life 2 is amazing. From what I've seen in previews and sneek peeks, it's finally passing up the other games with DOOM III as it's only real competition for now. It's being advertised with a release date of Dec, but I've read it will be released as early as Sept, 03. The scale of this game is amazing too. Huge creatures, excellent 3D environments, etc etc etc. Lets hope it's clipping and gameplay match the visuals and hype.

THE ENGINE:The source engine for Half-Life 2 is the most advanced graphics engine so far, this will allow Half-Life 2 to be very realistic. There will be ragdoll physics and skeletal animation allowing NPC's to be ultra realistic. Enemy A.I. is supposedly phenomenal.
CHARACTERS: Gordon Freeman has returned for the sequel and Black Mesa has been replaced by City 17 for the Half-Life 2 setting. Also the mysterious G-Man has returned. And everyone's favorite security guard, Barney (Valve says that Barney will not act suicidal during shootouts. Gordan's new sidekick will be Ayx, the daughter of one of the Black Mesa scientists.
THE ENEMY: The creatures from Xen are back, but some are your allies (could Xen have been invaded and they need OUR help?). The pesky headcrabs are back along with a variety of new threats like the fifty foot sriders that shoot lasers. But I hope the sausage dogs that shoot electricty are back.
BOTTOM LINE: Half-Life 2 will revolutionize he gaming industry, and will probably out sell its predescessor. Frankly I can't wait.
