Unbelievable Experience

This is an awesome FPS. I played the whole thing, and this is not based on the demo. Visually it is outstanding. The bombed out cities are almost frighteningly real. The weapons all look and sound far better then any game I've seen. The german MG42 makes you want to duck. The missions you go on are also realistic. The missions are more like the ones a real grunt in WWII would actually encounter. For instance, one mission is to hold a bridge, and another is to actually take back red square in Stalingrad. This game does an excellent job if bringing what combat in WWII must have been like. It's more then Doom set in WWII, like MOH is. The game isn't especially difficult, but its not that easy. I played on the normal setting, and I was killed several times. Yes, it is scripted like every other FPS, so if that bothers you, don't get it. For the rest of us that don't like to complain about everything, this is awsome experience. It is far better then MOH. The only complaint I have is the missions seem to be too short, and the game isn't all that long. It took me about 10, maybe 11 hours to finish.

Excellent game - way too short

I played the demo and was instantly blown away. I picked up the game, loaded it up, and was on my way to Nazi killing bliss. The graphics are beautiful, the AI is great, and there are a variety of missions to play through the eyes of other nations. HOWEVER, the game is ridiculously short. I have played it a total of six to eight hours and am already on the last mission. As one other reviewer put it, you feel kind of boxed in. There is not much in the way of exploration, and it is very linear. That being said, this is still an excellent game. I have yet to test the multi-player for this particular game, but hopefully it will be as fun as the single-player.

one sweet game

Just finished it and it was truly top of the line excitement. It beats out MoH by a long shot (my opinion). The music was excellent. The graphics were great and I had absolutely no trouble with the program. It was quite life like and I highly recommend this to everyone who likes war games or shooters.

Highly recommended.

I loved it

Probably the best single person game out there. Excellent graphics, actions, control. More realistic feel than MOHAA in that you really need to crouch, go prone, hide, lean, etc in order not to get shot. It will be tough to match.
Enjoy

INCREDIBLE!!!

THis game is awesome! The levels are incredibly detailed and most of the time you can either blow up the flak cannon or antiaircraft guns or kick some nazi butt with them. The russian levels are a lot of fun cause you can drive a tank but the british and american campaigns also have great vehicle levels.
I can't wait for an expansion to be released:)

Excellent 'lose yourself in WW2' game

This game creates an unbelievable atmosphere. The background sound, music and excellent level design with the graphics make you lose yourself totally in the chaos, anxiety and tension of war (or as I imagine it, since I've never been in one).

The fact that you're part of a squad adds a nice touch, and you really feel like fighting and putting yourself at risk for your 'buddies'.

Great job Infinity Ward, this game's a thrill!

Best I've Played

I'm not exaggerating when I give it 5 stars. I learned about this game seeing my boyfriend play it. When I tried it, I found myself more and more interested in it and it's the only real computer game that I love playing. There are a number of different maps (I don't remember how many but less than 15 and more than 5 if that helps). There's maps where it's American vs. Germans, Russians vs. Germans and British vs. Germans. You have a number of weapons you can choose from....ranging from Brens, Thompsons to rifles for example. There will be at least one map that everyone labels their favorite and there really is something for everyone. Whether you like maps that have open fields (brecourt) or maps with buildings (pavlov, railyard, harbor, etc) they are all provided. You can also play in different modes like single player, multiplayer deathmatch (my personal favorite), team deathmatch, capture the flag, etc. You also have the option of making up your own server or going onto other servers where you can play maps or weapons of choice you like (servers with map repitition or certain rotation, rifle only servers, etc.)If you liked this one, you'll like the expansion pack. If you like World War games I'm sure you will like this one. The graphics are probably the best I've seen in a computer game and also probably the most realistic. It's not hard to undertsand why it was the best game of the year.

If you still have yet to play this game as we approach closer to the time Call of Duty 2 is released, it is time for you to play it! You can get it for less than $10 now and have hours of fun! The sound on this game is what sets it apart; truly amazing. If you don't have at least a mid-range 5.1 speaker setup you need to invest in one, or at least play this game with some nice headphones. Either way, leave it cranked. The positional audio will really make you feel like you are there. The lack of blood is a decided turn-off for a game that is portraying an unfortunately gruesome aspect of life. However, this is just a small complaint; the game is well designed and never dull. I love what the team at Infinity Ward is doing and hope they continue with their excellent work. Buy this now.

This game is simply amazing but it's too short. I beat it in like 3 days :P

Its worth the buy though... all together a beautiful game...

Has some problems with the ati 9xxx video cards so be careful, you will need to download a patch from ati to make ur game work better.
