RED FACTION IS AN OLDIE AND A GOLDIE. IT'S FUN TO PLAY GREAT ORIGINAL STORY LINE WITH FEW BUGS. I'VE PLAYED IT TWICE ALL THE WAY THREW AND EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE IT'S FUN TO JUST PUT IN AND GO. REMINDS ME OF WOLFENSTEIN WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT. YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH THIS GAME.

this red faction essentially switches places with the first red faction. The first one had a great storyline and one player mode but its multiplayer lacked in levels, options, and only supported two players. The second is completely vice versa. Its stroy has noting to do with the first and it becomes laborous at times to get through it. But dont let that deter you from this game. The multiplayer is the best fps ive played on the ps2 and with so many options its hard to go wrong. 4 player with 2 bots is ideal and with the ability to level up bots to the point where they are insanely good provides quite a challenge. Overall i'd say this is a must buy for the multiplayer and you wont be disappointed but if your just going to play the campaign mode go ahead and skip it.

RF2 is a pretty decent shooter. You are a nanotech solider trying to rid the world of General Sopot and a few plot twists later your done with the game. You'll get to wield a lot of nice weapons from machine pistols to crazy rocket launchers and rail gun. A few vehicles show up in the game like a flying assualt ship, a mech assualt armor thing, a submarine, and a tank. It varies up the gameplay a bit by having different things to do other than run around and shoot. The difficultly varies through the game, but it does steadily increase the further you get into the story. You will be done with it in under ten hours, so its very short and if you can't find it to buy you can finish it in a rental. I think I completed it in about six hours all together. If you have played Project:Snowblind you'll find this game very familiar, just no bio-augmentations. Overall pretty fun, just doesn't last very long.

If you are a fan of Red Faction then you may be a bit dissapointed. First off, few levels actually require any strategy, follow the obvious path and kill all the enemies. Second, there is no disguising or hiding bodies or talking to people. Destructable objects? This is a joke compared to the original. You can no longer "create your own door". The game only lets you destroy things to pass a scenario or somthing so miniscule that it is not really fun to destroy. There is also barely any reference to the first game. Parker is not even mentioned in this game. The graphics, nothing special.
Positives: Sometimes you will pair up with a squad member who is invincible. So in this case it is best to just to take cover while they kill all the enemies. The AI is also better. The graphics are better, also. There are also some veichles that you can control. Unfortunantly though, half of the vehicles that you ride in you can only control the guns. There are now more weapons and you can hold a weapon in one hand and throw a grenade with the other. There is also the ability to hold two of the same guns at once. There is again a multiplayer, but it has some new levels and several new game modes. There is also at least one level in multiplayer that is the same as one of the original's multiplayer levels. It is a good game for shooter fans if it is 20 or 30 dollars.

Move over halo here comes RF2!!

I played halo. so what? i played X111. who cares? i played red faction 2. AND THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST GAME EVER!!! Tis so fun. see what i like to do is get super health, get a WASP, and some satchels and shoot people when they are far away from me and when they are close up i throw a satchel on them, an automatic death. This game has awesome graphics and i absolutly love the multiplayer option. me and my little sister have contests to see who can make the funniest name for the characters and i usually pick sir robin because i like sir robin from monty python and the holy grail. well anyways typeing in a name enables a little screen at the bottom saying you killed so and so. when you kill the other player on his/her screen it says so and so killed you. which is funny because with the name it will say "Sir Robin killed you". well anyways, i love this game.

First things first red faction 1 blows away dis game. This game has an extremely short single player, hard to follow plot, and is NOTHING like red faction 1. Now ur tryin 2 stop some dictator named sopot but the plot wuz so boring i dont kno WHY they were fighting against him. Thers no ultor, mars, parker, none of it. Just some weird group of elite soldiers fighting against dis guy sopot. The single player wuz SO boring dat it took me almost 3 months to beat it......and no not cuz its long. I played dis game for bout an hour or 2 when i first got it then shut it off. Then after 3 months i piked it up again and beat it, but the only thing dat kept me playin wher the guns. Its cool havin a grenade launcher/machine gun lik the rangers in black hawk down hav. But otha than dat dont buy dis game. If ur dat intrested in it rent it......youll beat it in dat week anyway.

this game kicks (...)! if you FPS's then buy this game! it has many different guns, awsome vehicals, and kick ass levels and companions. You fight along side a team of six. you play as the demolitions man, alias. over all, this game kicks halo, 007, doom, and perfect dark streight in the (...)!

This FPS is not as good as the original in terms of storymode. The graphics are better with the GO MOD tech engine that has great damage system when shooting rockets against walls and so on. The enemy AI is average with them taking cover from your gunshots. This is basic gameplay by just shooting anything that moves and you can't drive vehicles, you can only shoot out of them or "riding shotgun".
Multiplayer is fun but not as good as TimeSplitters 2. If you've got many FPS or action games with shooting get something new like RPG or sports or anything else because this offers nothing new except for the great damage engine.
