Red Faction II is a first-person-shooter. This game is a big improvement over the first. It has great graphics, excellent controls, excellent weaponry, good music and sound effects. You also have levels that have you riding on vehicles which are lots of fun; be a gunner on a gunship, be gunner on a tank, or drive a submarine and even a mecha! It features a single player game and split-screen multiplayer. The multiplayer games inlude deathmatch, team deathmatch, arena, team arena, capture the flag and more. You can also team up with BOTS in multiplayer, but they are not that bright.

This game rocks! It is my favorite FPS and favorite game, period!
The controls are smooth, The graphic details are superb, the GEOMOD technology is a major advance, and the game over all just plain out ROCKS!

good game

basically the game is all about killing a guy named sopot who's a ... dictator with the heart of gold, well not gold more like ... i dont know. anyways you get several teamates all of which help you through most of the missions. i only have the demo from the playstation magazine but i do get kill lots of guys. another cool thing about this game is the debrie(?) that flies around when bullets hit the wall, kinda like the matrix. the geo-mod is also improved, which means you can blast through basically anything. so im gonna give this game 5 stars. so ... buy this game when it comes out and i guarantee you wont be dissapointed.

Guns, Guns, Guns, and More Guns

This game is better than the first (primarily by not making it so dang long). The storyline is about a group of nano-enhanced soldiers trying to kill a corrupt dictator, which happens about 1/2 way through the game (then there's a plot twist, but I won't spoil that). There are enemies constantly shooting at you, but, like the title says, you've got plenty of powerful weapons to mow them down. Like the CAS-14 automatic shotgun, the NICW, the AK-47....er I mean the CAR-72 assault rifle, the bolt-action sniper rifle, the MKAP-94 (one of the coolest guns), the WASP (Wide Area Saturation Projectile...need I say more?), and of course; the .50 caliber assault machine gun (assault machine gun is an understatement....it's more like an assault cannon)! The game's single and multiplayer are both fun (if you don't have a multi-tap, you'll be missing out on the multiplayer insanity). If you want to mow down hordes of enemies and have challenging objectives at the same time, this is the game for you!

Man is this game for filling, except upon finish!! All areas excel!! The game play is Innovating for great realism and for the minor mimicking of other titan titles to cover a cross platform of player's approval. Such as similarities of the rechargeable shields in "HALO" and the multi-featured weapons like "Half-life". Minor consumption of redundant slaughters, kept me a high level of anticipation all throughout. The Revamped Geo-Mod engine rocks and will keep me eyeing for the release of RFIII. Be carefull not to burnout your ps2 from over use.

I thought this was a really good game BUT this game is way to short and if this game was 3/4 longer then it really is i would of bought it but i just rented it and i beat in two days it is really fun while it lasts. Also this game is nothing like the first one and the geo mode [stinks] in this game. If you ask me this game is only worth the rent.

Original was better

Red Faction 2 didn't seem to be as good as the original. There wasn't an auto-aim option so it's hard to hit your enemies, and the levels seem a lot less interesting compared to the original.

Red Faction with a twist

Red Faction 2 is a great first person shooter for the ps2. It combines a lot of intense action with a little bit of strategy. Some of you may think this game is simply a sequel to Red Faction taking place on mars, but your wrong; due yourself a favor, forget every thing you know about the first red faction. A lot of this game takes place in a futuristic city. But some levels will bring you out in the wilderness while others will bring you deep inside a military silo. There's a great variety in levels so you'll never get board. Another great part of Red Faction 2 is the many different weapons. You can get pistols, Uzies, assault rifles and even flame grenades, you'll never run out of weapons. The only mane reason I give this game 4 stars is because the graphics could still use some work and eventually the fighting becomes repetitive. Besides that Red Faction 2 is a great game it is worth [money], buy it.

Red Faction II should definetly be PS2's FPS. Geo-mod, new team based gameplay, its now 4 players, and it lets you play with a keyboard and a mouse. Pretty cool.

When I first heard about Red Faction 2 in the making I was excited, however now that I have had my hands on the game I was a bit let down, there was no cool rigs to drive, though you do have a chance to pilot a suit of armor, and sub, the rest just ride along and shoot. Also in the multi-player you were not able to make carnage out of the levels, the levels were tightly squeezed together leaving no real secrets in the enviroment.

The game did extend from some points of play like holding the guns and throwing a bomb, however I think it lost some of its transformation into this remake, I think they were so bent on making it better, that they forgot what made the first game so good, and that was the ability to destroy enviroments, not just on one player, but on multi-player too.

So while this game is a good rental, I would not buy it, I would stay with the old Red Faction game.
