a great innovation in its time

The first ratchet & clank really helped PS2 in the sense of platforming, and just good old fashioned destruction. Before this game we didn't have much to define this perticular genre. Now adays, the second installment of ratchet & clank is out and i have already beat it 5 times. This game is great, but after beating ratchet & clank: going commando so many times, you realize that the second installment is a lot smoother than the first. My advice to you is to rent this particular installment and pick up the second at a game store in your town, you definately won't regret, becauase you will definately see the difference!

Ratchet and Clank really what a video game should be. There is a fairly funny story line and plenty of action to back it up. While it does look like a cartoon, many of the challenges may be a bit tough for the younger generations (that's coming from a 20 year old). I have been looking for a game like this since Crash Bandicoot. There is plenty of jumping, shooting, and combos of the two to keep you entertained while maintaining easy access to the immense library of weapons at your disposal. 5 out of 5 stars.

this is an actionpacked adventure of a game. i love it and so many people aresaying how they hate rachet i dont get it. i think rachet is so cool all you should lighten up. i mean rachet isnt supposed to be this typical straightarrow save the day heroe. hes a dude a funny arrogant wizecracking cat. im glad they didnt make him a goodygoody like most characthers hes much cooler than mario. mario looks more like a chef than a video ame characther anyway. you guys dont undersand the concept of rachet. hes supposed to be funny humorus a break from all those straightarrow heroes like batman and superman. and i like that concept a whole lot you people need to loosen up. besides this game has graphics that make you feel like your in outerspace. wonderful characthers loads of humor and plenty of weaponsa at your disposal. ive played this one trough it is so much fun. you serious snobs.

finally action in a platformer

rachet and clank is my all time favirote platformer game. its excellent the graphics are simply amazing and being controlled at 60 fps. theres not one pop up stutter or flaw in the graphics WHATSOEVER. the graphics are outstanding the levels are enormus and detailed. the game is consestint with polish and giant snow moautins vistas and exoctic lands all with not a flaw in design or one single graphical mistake. rachetv and clank has better graphics than jak and daxter or probally just about any other game currently avilable. and yes the weapons are wondeful they range frompowerguns like the ryno the blaster the hyprocitiator and the devastator. to silly things like the glove of doom the chicken morpho ray. then there are those reliables like the swingshot. the characther animations are wonderful rachets so cool looking and funny hes a dude type. an asskicking mechanic pole grinding hip cat i love him. in addition to the 36 weapons and gagets you can access. theres fun things about the game later in the game rachet can even skateboard. the aleinlike joyus flavorful music goes down well with the diverse envirorements and the voiceacting is exceptional. i like the music when its at a fastpace sounds right down to buisness. the music is one of the best things about rachet and clank. the sound effects are good. and because of all the bad guys and opstacles youll always have something to do. unlike most platformers where you somehow find yourself running around pointlessely. the load times are incredibly short and are actuaully just flight seqeunces. for people that dont like it i love to hear reasons why. what the controllers. people notice the controllers there not bad at all matter fact there pretty damm good. they just make some minor mistakes. if youre a person who wants a damm good platformer. an action packed outstandingly designed incredibly playable and very fun game. who can play without being disgusted by hardly noticeable flaws buy rachet and clank.

My 3 year old LOVES this game.

I know this is rated T for teen but I tell you my 3 year old is in love with this game. He will play it for hours at a time if I let him. I also have to say I love this game as well. As soon as we finish this game I am going go out and get Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando. The graphics are great and it's challenging and so much fun to play. This game is worth every penny.

in this game,you have have to stop the evil chairman drek from blowing up your planet,and other planets,you'll have a big showdown with him in the end.19 levels,one of them is a tutorial level.buy this game next time you see it.

the two rachet and clank games have been the best games i've ever played the first was excellent the second was was awsome i would recommend you buy number 1 first because you would more likely know what's going on. and i would recommend rachet and clank 1 and 2 100%

Ratchet & Clank is just about the best game ever. It has a good plot with many clips that go along with the story. There is good controls and it is very fun. This is a game you cannot stop playing until you beat it! It is challenging and extremely fun. Theres more gadgets than you could ever imagine like the suck cannon, swingshot, bomb glove, blaster and many many more. This is a good game for anyone who likes action/adventure type games. It is better than Jak & Daxter by a long shot. This game deserves 10 out of 5 stars because it so awesome. Get this game...now. Its also at a greatest hits price ($20 probably)

This is one of the most enjoyable games ever. This is the second best platformer, next to Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando (that ultimately deserves first place). The graphics of this game is particularly fluid. The controls are dead-on. The music, I must say, is particularly enjoyable. Heck, even the story is funny. However, what makes this game particularly awesome is that the camera doesn't pose itself as a nuisance. In most instances, it will pan out to see the boss and everything around you (unlike Naughty Dog's games). Overall, this game is a must-buy. For the Greatest Hits Price, you won't be disappointed...

This game is so much fun, not only are there over 30 inventive and amazing weapons and gadgets including a Morph-o-ray which turns your emimies into... CHICKENS and if you upgrade this weapon by using hidden gold bolts the chickens will be huge and explode when they get neat an enemy! On top of all this mayhem is a flawless design with bright beutiful graphics and amzingly interesting levels which will amaze you. Al though the game is rated teen it is fine for people of all ages as the violence is toward robots not other humanlike intelligent life forms. This game also has a huge replay value becuase after you beat it you still need to do skill points which are tasks in different levels like shooting ships down with one of your many guns. All in all first time through this game will take about 10-15 hrs for an average gamer but it does get harder as you progress. BUY IT because its nice to just be able to get rid of boredom by blowing up some bad guys at the end of the day.
