That Brush is Frustrating!

That's the only reason why I didn't pick 5's for both. I didn't buy this through Amazon, I bought it in a game store. Otherwise, the graphics are beautiful, the music is good, & there's lots to do so the game isn't going to be a short one. But there aren't enough save points in the game, the voices can start to bother you(especially when you have to keep doing a part repetitively because the brush won't work for you & if they have a long part you can't skip it)& the brush is very picky, but when you can't use it you do miss it. I'm sure once I finish it, that it'll be played over & over again though. It is very enjoyable even though certain parts of it have made me curse at it. I'm only 50 hours into it, so I'm sure there''s more cursing to come.

Being a big fan of Japanese art and culture, I loved this game. The storyline is loosely based on the story of the sun goddess, Amateresu. Of course, much of the real story has been twisted a bit to make gameplay more interesting.

This game takes Japanese water color artwork and brings it to life. The landscapes and characters are beautiful.

I was sad when I reached the end of the game..I wanted more. While watching the credits, I discovered that the game designers had given me what I wanted. I'm not going into detail (don't want to spoil it), but if you watch the end credits after beating the game, you might just find that you need to play the game again. ;)

There are so many side quests in this game, it would be nearly impossible to complete them all before beating the game at least one time. Many of these side quests will enhance your abilities or give you special items that are not available from the merchants that are scattered throughout the lands.

After beating the game two times, I still want more! I hope there are more games like this in the future, and I hope that they are good enough to rival Okami.

It is good because it feels like Zelda with some interesting and innovative features like the Celestial Brush and some RPG elements, but sometimes, that resemblance don't let show the greatness of this game. It is beautiful, fun and entertaining. The annoyance of the voices of the characters during dialogs and the bad precision of the analog stick for the celestial brush hurting sometimes the action during battles, don't let me give it a 5 star rating. Even though, it is highly recommended to anyone enjoying a game full of action adventure and RPG elements on it.

stunning graphics and creative game play makes this game a must.. i've been having so much fun playing this game. just watching some of the beautifully drawn landscape is fun. everything seriously looks like it's drawn with a brush.. i have god of war 2 but this game has me hooked.. so god of war 2's collecting dust for now.. it's that good..

but too bad this company went under...

If not, this game's for you. If you are... Well, this game, with its storyline,playability, graphics and music is still bound to make you gasp in wonder of how much fun the dear old PS2 suddenly became once again. Pure poetry =)

This game is phenomenal in every aspect. The graphics are amazing with the characteristics of a comic book. The storyline in its own is entertaining and keeps you interested in the game. I love this game.

Better than any Zelda game released in recent history.

Zelda was a huge influence on this game, but I think it really outshines any of the Zelda titles since Ocarina of Time.

My only complaint is that the canvas-style of the visuals isn't done very well, so it looks a little muddy. Otherwise, great game.

If all you need is FFPs with lot of gore, then Okami ain't for you. Otherwise give this game a try, you won't ever regtet - beautiful graphics, a good, twisting plot, superb music (I just ordered the OST - worth every penny!), funny characters, jokes, landscapes, creatures.... everything done perfect. Kudos to the team for the remarkable job.

One of the best and most unique games on the market. If you like Zelda or have any interest in adventure games, this is a must-buy.

* Gameplay is similar to Zelda but with a twist, that twist being the brush you can use to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. Broken bridge? Draw a new one. Windmill not spinning? Draw some wind. Etc.
* Lengthy. 40-80 hours, depending on how many secrets you want to unlock.
* Almost impossible to die, although some of the optional side quests are challenging.
* Good story, although some of the cutscenes are long and unskippable.
* Good music, albeit repetitive.
* The fantastic art style gives the game some of the best graphics of all-time.
* High replay value.

I`m not a huge game system player as I used to be, but I made spare time to play okami! Its completely original and the art style is unique from any other games I played. Theres a lot to do in the game and its probably the best Playstation 2 game! The only thing thats annoying with video games is that every single female villian has giant boobs and one of the characters has this thing with jumping in tops....anyways,its probably the best game I`ve ever played!
