Great game but buggy

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 3 / 4

This game is super fun and I'd give it 5 stars fro everything, except the game is pretty buggy. Not just the occasional character becoming invisible or struck behind something (switch to other character, drop out and then drop back in), but sometimes some have to restart the game kind of bugs. There have been three occasions where I would get struck in a stage and would have no choice but to restart the machine (gamecube) and redo the stage. Really takes a lot of the fun out of the game.

More of the same, but that's a good thing

The first Lego Star Wars game was a bonafide guilty pleasure that featured the universe of the Star Wars prequels in Lego form. It shouldn't have worked but it did, and it was all the more successfull because of it, and was easily one of the best Star Wars video games of all time. Now, Lego Star Wars 2 thankfully focuses on the classic universe of the original trilogy, and features everything that made the first game so great. The charming graphics and animation, the simple controls, the addictive gameplay, the unlockable secrets and tongue in cheek humor; it's all here, and it's all in fine form. Chances are if you dug the original game, you'll have absolutely no problem getting into this game, but it's not without it's flaws. For one thing, just like the first game, it's too short, and it's ultimately too easy. However, considering this is mainly aimed at a younger audience (but it's a great game for everybody), it's not that surprising, but it's still a welcome treat. All in all, if you liked the first game but yearned for the original trilogy universe compared to that of the prequels, your prayers have been answered.

Lego star wars was a great game, and nearly everything is improved in this version. The blaster characters have melee attacks, there is an improved diffuculty and the puzzles are harder. And it's about the original trilogy. But the ai is a worse. Enemys always target you and not your pal, and your freind doesn't do damage unless you're playing co-op.
But the most anoying thing is scenes when the enemys keep coming, you can't stop them and they don't come at regular intervals. But, all in all, lego star wars 2 is a great game because it improves on the original in every way. ALmost

It's fun and not violent, because if you kill someone you don't kill the person, you just break it and it just falls in pieces.

Great Game Gets Even Better

Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (LSTII) is everything a Star Wars fan could want. It improves upon the original Lego Star Wars I (LSTI) in certain areas, though not many areas (except length of game) needed to be improved. There is NO learning curve if you played the first game, which allows you to jump right in and not worry about a bunch of new controls. That's not to say there aren't new controls or actions that your characters can do. However, any new action has a "this is how you do it" screen pop up. I bought it yesterday and took my time playing it for just a little while, so I am only in Episode IV, Stage 3. In just that short amount of time, I was very pleased with the quality of the game's graphics and sound--seems to be even more improved over the original's. Likewise, there are certain doors or areas you cannot go into and are specific to other characters, requiring you to replay levels, which is always fun with this game. The characters so far that I have played as are Princess Leia, R2-D2, C3PO, Rebel Soldiers, Luke Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. All of them control like the characters in the first game--but hey, that isn't necessarily bad. They have added new animations (such as Luke moves and ducks while shooting). Force powers for Obi-Wan include the original push and pull, but now include the ability to confuse or cause certain characters (Jawas, Tusken Raiders, etc.) to fall asleep. You can now build and ride more vehicles and creatures(so far only the landspeeder and was able to ride a Bantha and a Dewback).

For $39.99, you can't get a better game. All the "you can beat the game in 5hrs." people apparently are just flying through the levels and not exploring. I am only 7% into the game and have played it for 2hrs.

Get this game!

What can I say? My 8 and 6 year old sons LOVE this game and keep returning to it month after month. That's probably because they love lego and Star Wars, so if you love these two things then this is the game for you! Best of all, it meets their mother's stringent standards against gaming violence.

Fun Game... To Easy... and Too Short

I liked playing it. Its a lot of fun... but like the prequel game it's too short with no challenging game elements. I'm sure a lot of kids play this so I'm not judging too harshly. I liked it and I play all the latest games...

Lego Star Wars II has better game play than the original Lego Star Wars. The environment is more interactive and it has much better action possibilities.

it has bugs. and glitches lots of them. it's like it was rushed to production. though it is still fun.

Overall a very good game, with a rating that makes me comfortable playing it with my son, but with enough humor, story and action that it is fun for an adult.
