Easy to play and fun for gamers of all types!

This game is SO much fun! It's super easy to learn and very easy to play (no confusing menus or special hidden abilities). My husband and I both really enjoy playing... I'm a long time gamer-chick and he's never played video games before. New video game players will find this one simple and straightforward, while more experienced gamers will be pleased by the ease of play AND the super rendering of every little Lego piece! There are plenty of hidden secrets and special areas to keep everyone amused, and each level can be replayed again and again.

The cut scenes (movies) are very well scripted and funny! All three "original" SW movies are played out by super cute little Lego people with a few surprises thrown in!

This would be a great game for a household with multiple video gamers of varying levels of experience and would also make for a good "first game" to give to someone who has just recently started playing console or video games.

Fun, Fun, Fun!

What can I say? My 8 and 6 year old sons LOVE this game and keep returning to it month after month. That's probably because they love lego and Star Wars, so if you love these two things then this is the game for you! Best of all, it meets their mother's stringent standards against gaming violence.

This game rocks

I totally love this game! I continuously play it over and over again! I love the worlds, the characters, the music, the sound effects, and everything else about it! It's an improvement over the first one, and that's saying a lot! What I like better about this one is the extra moves, like the detonators, the actual building of legos, and I like the fact that you can watch the clips without playing the levels, if you choose to do so. And I'll tell you, the clips are absolutely hilarious! Also, I like the original movies a lot better than the most recent ones. However, you don't need to like the movies to enjoy the game. Lovers of this game should buy the T-shirt at the Lego website. They don't have a shirt for the first one yet, but I'm pretty sure they will come out with one. I recommended both of these games to a friend of mine, and she totally loves it. I even recommended the first one to a stranger at Target, and he bought it. The second one hadn't come out yet, but I hope he bought it when it did come out.

Anyway, you should definitely buy this one for yourself or as a gift for someone else, especially if you like legos and Star Wars. You won't be disappointed.

my bf and i love legos. we buy lego sets and build them (yes, we are are adults). they're such cute little detailed toys. so of course a video game where you can control little lego dudes sounded like a lot of fun... and we were not disappointed. i am guessing most people who enjoy legos also have love for star wars. you get both in one, fun, cute game. i love playing through the storyline, as all other reviews say, it keeps to the movie, which is really neat. my bf and i spent countless hours playing as a team until we completed the game together. what a fun time! the game makes you laugh a lot too. we're going to get Lego Star Wars I now and fight over who gets to play Anakin.

Very entertaining

This is one of those games that if you just saw them on a shelf on a store, you'd probably never pick up, thinking it is too childish. Instead, this game is extremely entertaining. It has great game play. I was surprised at the variation of things I got to do.

The real kicker however is how they are using Lego characters to tell the Star Wars story. Fans will see a firework of details that will make you laugh out loud. And even if you have only seen the movies once or twice, you will find tons of entertaining scenes.

Unless you hate Star Wars and/or third person games, give this one a shot!

One of the best games of the year

Anyone can pick up this game and play - it is so simple and addicting. Some people might be turned off by the fact that it is so easy, but that's what makes the game so great for me and other casual gamers. Even if you're not a huge Star Wars fan, this game is still a lot of fun. I even enjoyed watching the cut scenes because they're so funny. I ended up also buying the game on my PSP because I knew I'd be more motivated to play through and unlock everything in the game if I could play it on the go.

If there was anything that I would complain about, it's the fact that the extras aren't all that exciting, at least not unless you're a hard-core Star Wars fan. I was thinking you would get to build all these vehicles with legos when you collected all the mini-kits, but all you get to do is look at the finished version of the vehicle outside the cantina, which acts as a hub to all the levels in the game. Once you pass all the levels, you're basically just collecting as many studs as you can to unlock all the characters and cheats.

Fortunately, the levels are fun enough that I don't mind playing through many of them multiple times. As I said before, I bought the game on a second system, so I've played through many levels 4 or 5 times now and it's still a lot of fun.

More of the same - fortunately as last years Lego StarWars was great

My son (10) saved his pennies knowing this title was to be released. He thinks it is great (and it is). The storyline is a bit different to the first Lego StarWars with a few different characters and plenty of them. There is no android General Grevious as the storyline loosely follows the first 3 films (IV to VI), so you get cuddly Ewoks and a token Wookie this time. It's pretty much more of the same though (Lego StarWars I) which is rather good as the original was great anyway. The game works very well on the PS2. Lego PC based games like RockRaiders, Island and AlpaTeam are always great but seem to crash regularly, none of that here.

You can select and now even make your characters - and you don't have to have Jedi powers to make things move/open. As before single player mode is great fun. This time you can also build, or occasionally jump into, vehicles and drive them about. Plus you can man gun emplacements. Sometimes a cheeky Lego guy nicks the one you have built before you use it. You even get to fly your fighter & destroy the Death Star - although strangely it comes after dispatching the evil Sith Emperor & the 'Stop Luke & listen, I am your father' bit. It's all not quite as believable as the superb 'real action' StarWars Battlefront II, as the characters and sets are cute Lego pieces. It does mean the fighting has a very non-violent feel for youngsters as the Lego pieces just break up when hit, rather like paintball - so that's great for little ones (I would say 4+). This Lego based nature of the characters and sets leads to great exploding brick animation. As before the two player mode is first rate (almost as good as 'Incredibles, Rise of the Underminers'). There is also the fun 'give him a slap' mode when you get close (and often you get the annoyed character slapping you back if it's a 'friend'). The clever jokey humour runs through the game, rather like the films. Yes, The Force is strong in this one. Highly recommended.

A continuation of the greatness of the first game

While the gameplay is very similar to Lego Star Wars I, this game delivered everything it promised. Again, playing with another peson may be one of the best aspects of the game, and the cuts scenes are again very funny for us Star Wars nerds. The additional features in this version (off-track flying, red bricks, gold bricks, etc) and the additional length to the levels make this game exciting for us older folks and really makes the game worth the price. It's a definite must play for anyone who enjoyed the first game, enjoys Legos or enjoys Star Wars.

Fabulously Entertaining!

As someone who grew up with Star Wars, I chuckled when these games came out. Hasn't everything Star Wars been done? What a pleasant surprise! I bought this for my 5 year old for his birthday. What a fantastic game! All four of my children throughly enjoy this game, and would play it for hours if I would let them. Their father and I have been found playing some marathon games as well. Every time you play, even a level you think you've beaten and completed, there's something else to find! We loved it that works with Lego Star Wars I as well.
