I bought this game for fifty-four dollars and eleven cents. And it's worth it. This game is probably the longest I've ever played. There is tons of Final Fantasy cameos: (Rikku, Yuna, Paine, Auron, Aeris, Cid, Cloud, Leon, and Vivi to name a few) All of the worlds are really fun and interactive. You can examine almost everything. You play the first 3 hours as a boy named Roxas, and that part can be a little boring. But it kicks off as soon as you become Sora. Out of all the worlds, I'd say the Mulan world (Ancient China, Land of the Dragons, whatever it is named in the game)was the best. But in my opinion, this game was a bit disapointing. I was expecting a lot though. But anyways, there's all sorts of minigames.
Mini games such as leading Minnie to her throne while guarding her from Heartless (She can actually do the spell "HOLY". It's pretty cool) trying to get dogs out of bags (Yes...you have to get a dog out of a sack), trying to get to a wall that's throwing balls at you, defeating about 20 Vivis, and more. But one bad thing about this game is the cut scenes. They get really annoying after awhile, because it seems like everytime you move, one starts. But overall, I think everyone should at least rent this game before buying, but that's just me. =)
awsome, Awsome, AWSOME!

I've been waiting for this game for a year! I was surprised on the fact that the Triangle button is to open chests, talk, and also does trigger comands! I almost had a Heart attack with: "A scattered dream that's like a far off memory, A far off memory that's like a scattered dream, I want to line the pieces of them, yours, and mine." It's like the words that started the series! And followed by another one of Hikiari's (I don't Know how to spell her name) great lyrics! I love this game and I'm sure you'll love it too!
Kingdom Hearts rules. It's as simple as that. IT JUST RULES!!!!

This is such an awesome game!!! Whoever calls this series childish must not have their head on right because they are absolutely wrong!! Disney and Final Fantasy work brilliant together, and even though I've never played a Final Fantasy game I'm hooked the characters are so cool! A lot of the worlds from KH1 are back, but there's also just as many new worlds, including the long overdue Disney's Castle. I also adore the Pirates of the Caribbean, it's really funny! There's no gore, the most violent thing in the entire game is seeing the skeletal pirates, and even they aren't that creepy! Besides, you just defeat them quickly anyway.
I was a bit disappointed about how they shrunk Atlantica to two areas and no battles, unless you count the musical battle with Ursula. Space Paranoids, from Tron, totally captured me and I am renting the movie as soon as I can! Also, there is the Pride Lands, Halloween Town, which is a world from the old game ( although now with the Christmas Town add-on!) from the Nightmare Before Christmas, Beast's Castle, the Land of Dragons from Mulan, and...brace yourself...STEAMBOAT WILLIE!!! Yes, those old black-and-white cartoons are recognized in the Timeless River world. You can even talk to Clarabell Cow and Clara Cluck!!!! Disney sure pulled out all the stops for that world! There is also Twilight Town, a game-only world that I won't say anything about since it impacts the story so much! There's also, returning, Agrabah, Olympus Coliseum (with it's tournaments!), Hollow Bastion, and, previously mentioned, Atlantica.
The battles are superb. Square pulled out more and more different options to clobber the Heartless and Nobodies! There are drives (which enable Sora to fuse with party members for extrordinary attacks and sometimes dual Keyblades!!!!) limits, which let Sora team up with a party member, including the world-specific ones, to clobber the enemies with fire, swords, and a very poorly orcestrated dance. (Jack Skellington ;)) Don't worry parents, it's just little and big black and white creatures your children are pounding, unless you count Organization XIII and the Disney villians. Also new to the arsenal are Reaction Commands. Every specific enemy usually has a reaction command, and when it appears, tap triangle to inflict some serious damage the enemy can't counter.
You'll fall in love with the characters. Sora, Donald, and Goofy are witty, funny and original, and those who have been dying for story coninuation since KH1 and Chain of Memories will be richly satisfied. Don't worry, you don't have to play Chain of Memories to understand KH2, and all the missing Organization members are accounted in Jiminy's Journal. The story isn't the cheap one you hear about over and over again. Jack Sparrow puts it the best: "Sailin' these waters, I've heard many a tale, but not a one like this" or something like that.
In closing, this is an awesome game for everyone. Parents, don't worry about that mild blood and use of alcohol on the rating. The blood is a thirty second thing when Barbossa cuts Elizabeth Swann's hand and the blood is on a coin she and Barbossa are holding. The use of alchohol is pure rubbish. Barbossa drinks wine for ten seconds, like the movie, and the words "wine" and "alchohol" are not mentioned. Younger children will probably think he's drinking pink lemonade or something.
So, why are you still sitting here? GET THIS GAME!!! LIKE NOWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Axel.
Beyond that one word, little more needs to be said. I loved Kingdom Hearts, but I love KHII even more. The new characters add so more to the reality of Kingdom Hearts, especially the NOBODIES.
Disney and Final Fantasy unite once again, this time with a new, terrible voice actor as Cid, and someone who isn't Mandy Moore as Aerith (Super bonus points for that one, as the new voice actress seems much more... Aerith-y).
Donald is so much more useful in this volume than he previously was. The worlds we visit are considerably more interesting this time, especially with the repeat vists to and from the different worlds.
The Gummi Ship controls are easier and more player friendly than they previously were.
I found Kairi to be more interesting as a character in KHII than she was previously.
This game, like its predicessor, screams sequel.
Not much to do...

Though it's a very pretty game, Kingdom Hearts II fell pretty flat for me in comparison to the first title.
Pros: graphics were fun to look at; though the combat was mostly button mashing, there were improved aspects to it, like the special "drive" forms, where Sora can use two keyblades, and limits, which provided you with a short period of being able to use a special ability or move. Call me a fan-girl, but I also really enjoyed being able to race light cycles in Tron's world.
Cons: You're railroaded through short, boring worlds on what seems more like one long movie than a game. The maps are miniscule, there's no exploring, no hidden ledges with goodies... nothing like that at ALL. I was frustrated that "high jump" was not available until I'd earned it through using one of the special forms. I kept telling myself that maybe once I had high jump, I'd be able to go back and reach some places I couldn't before. Maybe I'd find something interesting. But nooo... I'm not sure what the point of being able to jump any higher was. What a waste of time. The game provides you with plenty of places that LOOK as though they should be reachable, but even when you should be able to get there, you just slide back down to the ground because the programmers didn't bother to make the surface usable.
This seems to be a theme in most of the game: enjoy looking at the pretty environments, but don't expect to interact with them in any way.
The final two major complaints I have are the series of interminable final boss battles, and the existence of Atlantica.
Atlantica: does this make any sense? "The universe is in peril! Only we can save it! Oh wait--you want me to waste time performing in your ridiculous undersea musical extravaganza instead of saving innocent people and defeating evil? Sure!" There is not anything to defeat in Atlantica. I do not know why it was included in the game. I loathed it in the first one, and I gnashed my teeth even more in the second because I had NO REASON TO BE THERE.

Good games force you to work, and the fun is in the rewards they dole out. Challenge, then reward.
I didn't feel rewarded in Kingdom Hearts II. I just felt kind of gypped.
Awesome

I bought kh2 along with the strategy guide the first day it came out and was sooo happy because I had been waiting forever for it, me being a big kingdom hearts fan. And overall it's awesome. Kh2 is a great game in many ways...yet there are some flaws. I'll list all the pros and cons that I can think of.
PROS:
(1)Better gummi ship experience. Don't get me wrong, it still can be quite boring, but somehow it's better.
(2)Reaction Commands. A nice add to the game, although it's really easy to execute them. A triangle appears on screen on one of the heartless, nobodies etc. and you simply press the triangle and it executes the command, which can sometimes look pretty cool such as dodging the enemies attacks automatically for a while or attacking in a certain way.
(3)Limits. Another nice addition are limits. With any of the friends you're fighting with, if you use all your MP you can do a limit, which does a certain special attack, which usually does a lot of damage.
(4)Forms. Yet another great addition. There are Valor, Wisdom, Master, and Final Forms. The various forms gives you different abilities...like Valor Form gives you two keyblades and you can attack faster and better...
(5)Voices. The voices are great, as it was in the first.
CONS:
(1)My main complaint. Too easy! I beat the game in around 33 hours. I really hadn't completed all the special things, but still...I was really sad when it ended =( I wanted a longer, more difficult game.
(2)The first part of the game is boring and drawn out to me, but hang in there, it gets better when you get to play as Sora again.
Overall it was a really fun game, though it's way too short and easy for my liking. That's what brought the rating down to 4 stars, though I still love the game. It's worth buying. The strategy guide is helpful in a few places, but if you just go to gamefaqs they will probably soon have a walkthrough and that'll work.

I just got into the whole kingdom hearts thing a few weeks ago because i thought the whole disney/FF concept would be completely stupid.WRONG! the both games are hot, KH2 even more than the first. The sequel definitely lives up to the hype, and is a must-have for all ps2 owners.
Pros:
Drive Forms are awesome.
Limits are extremely cool-looking.
At certain points in the game, YOU. CAN. BE. MICKEY.
Cons:
The Gummi Ship still exists.
Atlantica sucks.
You have to be Roxas entirely too long.
awesome!

it's the part of the game that finally has you trying to find kairi and riku again. As you get farther through the game more questions are answered, but even more questions come up. i thought this was an awesome game filled with adventure and other things, if you haven't beaten or got the game, you'd better!
The best game I've ever played

Kingdom Hearts II is an awesome game!!! It is incredible! The graphics are great and the fighting is five star quality! There are lot's of new characters and plots that will leave you puzzled until the story unfolds throughout the game. Many things happen and it makes you want to never stop playing. There are worlds from the first Kingdom Hearts and lots of new worlds such as Lion King, Mulan, and Tron! This game is a must for anyone who loves video games.
Very Fun and Great For Hours of Good Entertainment!

I believe that this is an amazing game. I have played the first Kingdom Hearts and have to say that that was extremely fun too, but this is far better because of the new camera system, battle commands, drive option, and all new worlds! I would give this game a ten out of ten any day!
