Finally a good Bond game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 2
Date: March 28, 2004
Author: Amazon User

James Bond returns to the small screen in his finest performance yet on this generation of consoles. 007: Everything or Nothing's high-octane action accurately captures the spirit of Bond with a snappy variety of hijinks and a roster of talent that packs in Hollywood stars like sardines. Everything or Nothing represents a sizable leap forward in EA's line of 007 games. The star-studded cast would've been suitable for an actual movie; instead, EoN's original tale deploys the likenesses and voices of Pierce Brosnan as Bond, Judi Dench as M, John Cleese as Q, Shannon Elizabeth and Heidi Klum as Bond girls, and Willem Dafoe as Nicolai Diavolo, a villain bent on an plot involving nanobots. The camera has been pulled back to a third-person perspective, which adds to the authentic Bond atmosphere and pervasively cinematic feel by putting his famously dashing self on the screen. Also maintaining that Bond spirit, 007 tackles a crazy number of gameplay styles-he mans tank turrets, drives cars and motorcycles, flies helicopters, sneaks through shadows, and blazes away with all manner of weaponry. EA also dispensed with the cheesy dialogue and chintzy gadgets that made earlier games ring false. 007 makes great use of awesome gizmos ranging from a spider drone to a belt-mounted rappel that lets him climb or descend at will. Solid multiplayer support comes in the form of two-player cooperative missions and four-player arenas, while the PS2 version offers online co-op play. Innovative controls help you manage the switch to third-person...mostly. Targeting happens via a lock-on system, but sometimes it can be hard to light up the target you want. With practice, you learn that 007 must be facing an enemy to target him, regardless of where the camera is facing. Counterbalancing that is the effective cursor within the cursor-once you lock on, you can steer a small dot with the right stick to fine-tune your aim and go for head shots. The Spidey-like Bond sense, which activates when the game's paused, helpfully highlights rappel points, selectable objects, and more. Everything else performs smoothly, which is impressive given how many different tasks you undertake in this game. EoN is no mindless shooter. If you don't wisely use the new crouch and back-against-the-wall moves, you'll be sliced to ribbons out in the open-fast. The enemy A.I. pulls its weight, using cover well and reacting to player tactics with reasonable intelligence. The lack of checkpoints or in-game saves, along with the sometimes-stingy supply of health and ammo, means that frustration can become a factor, though not to an agonizing extent. Surprisingly, this adds up to a game that feels aimed more toward hardcore gamers than you might expect. On the presentation side, EoN delivers high quality and a big-budget feel. The differences between the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube versions are marginal at best, so it's a matter of picking your favorite controller or perhaps the Xbox's slightly better graphics. Across the board, the slick environments, cut-scenes, and character faces shine, although some of the animations are awkward, particularly when 007 runs. A great title song by Mya, strong voice acting, and booming sound effects complete the package. Like the better Bond films, EoN delivers exactly what you expect and hope for, and that's a good thing. This action extravaganza definitely brings 007 in out of the cold.

Single player game makes up for multiplayer disappointment

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 2

The single player game is everything a great game should be: good looking, fast paced, multi-faceted, and FRUSTRATING. I've spent hours playing the one-player game and would recommed it to anyone.

The multiplayer game is a big disappointment, as many of the reviewers here claim. There is just one big screen, and you have to run around one big room and fight the other players. It usually comes down to fisticuffs because the weapons lock-on is so awkward.

Don't let the multiplayer game stop you from checking the game out. More than one person can enjoy the game because it really is that cool to look at (and it's always nice to pass the controller from time to time).

Bond Goes 3rd Person

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 2

Bond... James Bond. Bond goes 3rd person in this new James Bond game. You play as James of course as you battle through a series of 27 levels where you have to rappel down buildings shooting a guard in the head with a hand gun, to speeding down a highway shooting missiles and using flamethowers on motercycles. This game is hard yet addicting that you can play for hours. The multiplayer is awesome.
Especially in co-op mode. Co-op allows you to do missions with your partner. When you do this you can get missions that you don't get in 1 player.

Cons: Not a very big range of weapons. Hard to be stealthy.
Pros: Everything except the things in the cons list.

As an overall score I'd give this game a 9 out of 10.
I highly recomend this game to anyone who likes 3rd person shooters.

"Your majesty's goverment requires your help, M16. Please respond.
The recent theft at Oxford University's highly classified prototype nano-bot project and the disapperance of its overseer, Dr. Katya Nadanova-has caused chaos in the the international intelligence community. The nanobot project was a humanitarian effort intended to facilitate the remote inspection and repair of hazardous nuclear containment facilites. However, in the wrong hands, this technology could be used for an entirley more sinister purposes.

This is where you come in, Bond. We've already indentified the rogue polictical faction responsible for the theft and tracked them to a secret facility in Egypt's Sahara Desert. Your mission, 007, is to destroy both the hardware and the facility. The fate of the world may very well rest once again on you success.

Good luck, 007!"

007, M here, I new review has arrived for your eyes only, Bond.

The top-selling franchise of the James Bond series has just got more popular. With Electronic Arts new game "Everything or Nothing" players will experience all new physics and gameplay that are new to the series of games. Hand-to-hand combat is the most popular. Punch, choke, and throw them to the ground in a Matrix-style clip. In comparison with the other 007 games, the action is all in third-person view. Which is better, however, the first-person view allowed you to see much more of the enviorment.
With this whole new game, different then anything else, comes new weapons. The plot is focused in Russia, there for you have some powerful Russian weapons. The weapons include:

AK-74 machine gun
SPAS-12 shotgun
P2K pistol
Desert Eagle pistol
Drangnov sniper rifle
Rocket Lanchers
and much, much more...

However, compared to other 007 games, you get very tired of the same weapons every level. One of the downpoints of the game. However, EA Games did make improvements with your enemy AI, compared to other 007 games, Bond was the only one that could use throwable objects, but now the enimes throw everything at you, from a pieces of china to a old man's cane, the enimes want you dead. You better watch out.

EA Games has also approved with the enviorment. If you shoot a rocket towards a crate, it will blow up and crumble. It you shot a bullet at the window, it shatters. If you shoot another rocket at some concrete walls, well they collapse. This is quite cool.

The new game now has a new MP mode which 007 fans have been awaiting for a long time. Guess? It's Co-Op, that's right you can team up with some of your buddies and ally and kick some Russian butt. However, the classic Arena mode, which was unlocked in the beginning of all games, now has to be unlocked by finishing the game on Agent diffuclity.

MY OVERALL REVIEW FOR JAMES BOND 007: EVERYTHING OR NOTHING:
Graphics: 9/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Realistic Enviorment: 10/10
Weapon Selection: 5/10
Mutilplayer Mode: 7/10

OVERALL SCORE: 8/10

I hope you find my review useful, 007! Now get out there and complete your mission, Bond!

Everything Is Better Than Nothing

OK, so it's been ages since they first came out with Golden Eye which still ranks #1 amongst Jimmy B sequels on the PS1 and PS2 systems. This is hands down the best one since the legendary Nintendo 64 creation. The music played throughout parts of the missions really get your adrenaline going. I would've given it 5 stars if it weren't for the arcade feeling and graphics. When they make the characters and environments life like, then we have a better game. Maybe they'll take my advice and introduce it in the Golden Eye sequel that's long overdue.

P.S. If you see No One Lives Forever on the shelf of a video game store, ask the manager to kindly remove it, as it brings shame to anyone who possesses it along with a lifetime of remorse and shame.

Double 0 Awesome

This game is amazing. Great voice talent, and also the grafics are amazing. This is by far the best Bond game yet. There are so many missions it is almost imposible to get board with this game, and the missions are not short at all. The missions are also challenging and it really makes you think of what to do before you do it you will definatly pay the price.

I really like that there is a M16 tranning corse in the beggining of the game so you can get used to the game. Also there is a wide verity of mission some involing automotive transportation, One mission you be driving a car or a motorcycle after a train and the next you might be in a tank and then get out and find out you need to get to the airport and get there soon so jump on you motorcycle and head for the airport.

There is only one major problem I found with this game and that is that the last mission is impossible to beat. I have had the game for 1 year and I still can't beat the last mission I've tried evything but the correct way to beat the mission I guess. But other than that this is one of the best games you will play all year.

I hope this review was informative.

I have bought both 007: agent under fire and 007: nightfire. They are both really great games. If you are going to buy this game, definitely get the multitap with it! Then u will be able to have 4 players while ur playing the game. I have heard the levels are suppose to be twice as big as Nightfire's. SO BUY THIS GAME THE DAY IT COMES OUT!!!

A dissapointment from EA

I've been playing James Bond games for a long time at friends houses etc. Golden Eye, Agent Under Fire, and Night fire were all awesome games in terms of gameplay and the multiplayer arenas. The arenas were probably the most attractive part of the games to me. I liked the team capture the flag, etc. I finally decided to get my own James Bond game(just for the arena mode and the other multiplayer options). Once i got the game, it was a great dissapointment. The arena modes were just pointless and got extremely boring in a matter of 20 minutes. I personally think this is because of the 3rd person view. What really stinks is that you cant play any team arenas and u cant play with computers!! Besides the arenas the co-op modes, etc. were ok... The one player seemed really boring. The story wasn't very appealing. Besides the one player and the multiplayer, I also tried the online mode. It was awful. The co-op mode was a great dissapointment in online mode. Personally I feel this is EA's worst James Bond game. Even golden eye was much better. If you want to get a good James Bond game I strongly advice you to get Nightfire.

ya this game blows...

i hate this game! it drives me nuts. i bought the first 2 bond games and i was very surprised with all the gadgets and the good graphics. but now, they changed over to third person. this is the worst thing they could ever do! i hate this game! the multiplayer has something messed up with it, and the lock on target thing sucks. cuz u could be like a mile away and ur gun could just automatically lock on to the player. it's very unrealistic. SO NEVER BUY THIS GAME it is horrible.
