THE game

Without a doubt this is the best single player games ever made..... ever. In short, if you own a PS2 then you own GTA: Vice City.

What makes Vice City so good is the fact that everything in terms of content is exaggerated a tiny bit which gives this game the edge that no other has. Basically the game design is simple but highly complex. It is very hard to describe this game. Imagine you are a games designer. You make a map of city. You built it up with bridges, shopping malls, airports, garages, parks and anything else that you find in most places. Then you add a variety of people walking around the place with Artificial Intelligence so that they bump into each other, start fights, get into cars and drive, steal cars, wait at bus stops or run away from a cop and get knocked down in the process. On top of this you add gun shops, hundreds of cool vehicles, helicopters, boats, motorbikes and cool ramps on the road so that you can perform stunts like launching a Harley Davidson over the local river. Then you create a character that can earn money, buy things and raise all sorts of hell like crashing helicopters into buildings, driving over pedestrians, stealing an ambulance, drive cop cars, fight SWAT as they discharge themselves from the overhead helicopter, use a bazooka to blow up traffic........ OKAY LETS JUST GET IT OVER AND SAY IT....

.... IN THIS GAME YOU CAN DO ALMOST ANYTHING YOU WANT!

...And if you do not want to just walk the streets or raise hell then you can actually play the story about Sonny Forelli, a small time gangster who must go on various missions so that he can get rich, buy lots of mansions, kill the bad guys, own really fast cars and get the girl in the end. And when you have done that there are extra missions everywhere that can you play.

There is NOTHING like Vice City. This IS the GAME of GAMES. Vice City is directly responsible for marriage breakups, flunking university, not eating, not sleeping and ignoring the rest of the world for the next six months. Be prepared to loose your job, shun your neighbor and let the dog starve. It is advised that you go get an IV drip if you buy this game. Vice City is an experience that has to played to understand how awesome it is.

Simply a hyper-jump in Evolution.

the controls are horrible (especially the first person targeting), ugly graphics, missions are stupidly difficult (could be ok if not for the frustrating controls), and some of them have insane time limit. this game probably never went through quality control. cross-stitching is more fun than this stupid game!

Though I have not played Vice City yet, I am certain by the screenshots and info located at neoseeker, this game will surpass GTA3, some of you might not agree with me, but I got info from official Rockstar websites. Some of the info I received was: Motorcycles will be available, your main charectors voice is played by Ray Liotta, there are over 150 cars, you and the police can shoot owt tires,you can go inside some of the buildings, you can go to all of the Vice City islands without beating any of the missions ,and you play one of the Forelli brothers. For more info go to neoseeker.com and click the PS2 logo, then click GTA:Vice City, then click discussions and there will be over 23 new screenshots of Vice City which you probably have never seen before and other info on the game. This information is absolutly true, and if you don't believe then wait for the game to come out and then you will believe that GTA:Vice City surpass's GTA3!!

You know Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask? If you do then you'll know that Ocarina was slightly better than Majora. Same here. In my opinion GTA3 is slightly better than GTAVC. The great new things in Vice are indoor locations such as a hotel and a club, helicopters, motorcycles, new side missions, and a main character with a personality. The things that botch the game are skittish melee attacks. The melee was fine in GTA3. VC was too short. GTA3 takes much longer to complete. Also in VC there are really only two main gangs, and the one gang that does start hating you is practically harmless. Other than those minor discrepencies GTAVC is a great game and a must own title for the PS2.

What's amazing is that the graphic/violent contents of this game (horrific killing as a primary objective or activity, indicated sexual assault, etc.) is not reflected in the editorial reviews.

I'm not a prude or one who tries to protect kid's from knowing about the darker elements of the human species -- they need to know at an appropriate age how to guard against it in themselves and from others. But parents: if you think you have to go along & buy your child this game because "that's the way the world is these days & what kids are into", then you may in fact be acting to create & pertuate that type of world and the attitudes and behaviors this game is saturated with. If you are that cynical and/or disinterested, I guess you'll think this comment is drippy etc. If this is the world your child is really attracted to (not just curious about for a time)or is experiencing, then, on the other hand, you likely have more to contend with than just their video game choices.

IT IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES, DON'T GET ME WRONG, BUT I AM DISGUSTED WITH PARENTS LETTING THEIR CHILDREN BUY THIS GAME. IF YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE AGE OF 14 THERE IS NO FRIGGIN WAY YOU SHOULD BE PLAYING THIS GAME. DON'T BUY IT PARENTS, FOR YOUR CHILD IF THEY AREN'T 14 +. IT CONTAINS ADULT THEMS, I'M SICK OF HEARING 11 YEAR OLDS RAVING ABOUT IT.

Check it,

GTA Vice City is going to blow every other game of its kind away!
I remember Devil May Cry came out around GTA3s' debut, and so many people dropped Dante's demon-blasting-handguns only to pick up a petty thugs, people-blasting-rocket launcher and I'm afraid that it'll do the same for every other game that's coming out around it's time and I'm freaking glad! People, hear me out! Get this game, you know your friends are getting it, so why not you? I already reserved my copy and I am one out of 4 million people or so who have been reported to Rockstar to have reserved themselves a copy, I think there will probably be a shortage of copies in the U.S. so I took care of that problem. Anyways it's gonna rock, 80's style.
