Just wanted to back up the REAL reviewers opinion that this is the BEST GAME EVER, and that is all there is to it

When I say this, I am taking mario, pitfall, pacman, mario rpg, gran turismo, any game that you can name, this is better.

The past reviewer said that he has played this all the way through 6 times and still finds it entertaining. WELL I HAVE MADE IT THROUGH IT 10!!!! TIMES AND I SERIOUSLY THINK THAT I HAVE DISCOVERED EVERYTHING YOU CAN DO IN THIS. But I will still have to play it an 11th cause the 10th time I found like 5 undiscovered things. Honestly you will be playing this for the 10th time and you will go behind some building and see an old man and he will tell you all this new info on the story that will lead to something else happening in the game that didn't happen last time.

The game is so original in the way it allows you to interact with people and so many times that you get to talk to the same people, yet have different and very interesting conversations.

The first time I played this I played o nteh medium hard level and was wondering if it was ever going to end, and I just jept on hoping it wouldn't. After about 6 days and playing it about 12 hours!!!!!!! a day, I thought my wish was gonna come true and never end, but unfortunately it did and I had to move on with my life.

So the only bad part about this game is that it does end, but as long as you can get over that, it is very enjoyable. Now we just need to figure out a way to have all games made by eidos. that would be sweet.

Also about this game ending, you shouldn't buy this if you get real emotional after playing a good game and life is just depressing when you beat it. But don't worry, you can use this game just like crack for about a year, then you need to get hitman contracts, and then you can go make video games because you have played and beaten the 2 best games ever.

An extremely cheap, but excellent game

I honestly believe, next to the GTA series, this is my favorite game of all time.

and to tell you, I'm no avid PS2 gamer, I pick up and play just whenever I feel like it. There are Very few games out there that I like so when I picked this game up in the bargin bin for $15 at a Best Buy last December, figured for something so cheap I might as well try it out. Almost a year later I'm still obsessed with this game.

The camera is a bit dizzying at times but that's why I suggest you don't rush through looking around, this definitely will boggle your brain if you go through a frenzy just spinning around.

The controls are a bit tricky (which is why I suggest you go through the training bit in the Very beginning), you use both analog sticks to walk and view things at the same time. Once you get this down the rest of the controls are a breeze.

It's a simple yet challenging game at times, keeps you on edge while making you work to figure out 'what next?'

I spent at least 4 days on this game until I beat it, it's so addicting. I loved how you get to choose your own destiny and path throughout the game, not to mention the 3 different ending possibilities rock.

About 11 months after I first beat it I decided to pick it up again and go through each level once more, saving it, so if I ever wanted to I could pick up the game and do a favorite mission of mine. I'm almost done once again and I've spent only 2 days on it this time. You pick up more secrets and tricks to make it easier as you go through the game a second time.

But to wrap up this review, I do suggest you buy this game.
Hell I'm even considering buying an Xbox to finish off the rest of the series. (I am going to buy other games for the console, I'm not That crazy)

There is only one word to describe this game.....AWESOME!! I rented it at first not knowing what to expect, but when I got home I wasn't disappointed. It has some serious plot and a very addictive style to it. The game will never let you down and is a definite contender for this year Game of the Year and the year just began.

This game was originally released for PC/MAC and did very well.It was so fun that I could even watch my brother play it.You (as a mechanized mercenary/agent)can explore New York, Hong Kong, and even Paris.(enough spoilers for now)You can get completely off course to break into apartments, warehouses, and so on.

As far as the story goes, you are betrayed by one person after another and you eventually end up as a loner.

As far as a first-person shooter goes, this ranks up there with Red Faction and TimeSplitters.(both for Ps2)I would definitely consider this game as very good and well-rounded.I already have it ordered.

Great, Unique Game

If you're getting bored with first person shooters because they're all the same, but you used to like them, I would suggest this game. It is truly unique. There are multiple ways to complete each mission and different things will happen depending on how you complete a mission. I haven't finished the game yet, but supposedly there are 3 possible endings. The game has a lot of RPG elements in it, so if you like how RPGs are played but aren't into the games themselves this is for you. I like the ability to choose some of your responses and the one you don't choose are selected based upon how you have played so far. The game will last awhile, especially if you choose to complete most of the secondary missions.

You Are JC Denton. A nanotech agent that works for UNATCO.(United Nations Anti-Terrorist Coalation) Let me describe this game a bit... think X-Files...with more guns, pepper spray, crowbars, grenades, shotguns, mini-crossbows, sniper rifles, batons, knives(throwing or combat), assault rifles..and much more. The list goes on and on. This game is very much like watching an X Files episdoe...where you get to choose what you wnt to say...and what you say or do affects the turnout of the game. I just want to say that this is an amazing game, and has really kept me playing for hours on end...The only problem I found was the maps are seperated into smaller parts...which makes it a little hard to move around. But overall....i would reccomend this game to anyone who is sick of the in-your-face, shootemups. It really is great fun to be abkle to choose your own path..as a stealthy nano-agent, or a man-made killing machine...either way, you'll be happy with this game. Go buy it..seriously..you won't be dissapointed. Why aerent you buying it? Cmon....click the little button that says "add to cart"- oh what..not convinced? Read other reviews...or rent it.... you'll love it.

Immersive and intense!

The best videogame I have ever played (and I started with Pong!).
The game takes place within a richly-imagined world that seems partly ripped from today's anti-terror headlines, combined with cyberpunk, conspiracy theories (The Illuminati, The U.N., Area 51, Black Helicopters, etc.), shoot 'em ups, and pulp detective novels.
I started playing soon after I ripped the Amazon box open, and I was hooked. I would usually play between 5 and 10 hours a night - something I've never done with ANY other game. Every day my wife would expect a briefing regarding that day's new developments/revelations.
The game is HUGE. It took me a couple of weeks, but I finished. But since there are several possible endings, I'm goin' back in to see how things go if I choose a different tack.

Game of the Year

I have never played a game with a storyline that even comes close to this one. Its not only the storyline that makes this game my pick for game of the year. The somewhat nonliniar gameplay, and GREAT controls also make this for more than a great game. This is much better than MGS2 in many ways. You can explore everywhere, talk to anyone, do just about anything that you can think of. Fully interactive enviroment. And what you interact with, stays that way through the game. The only letback would be the graphics, but that's understandable consitering that the makers wanted to put more into the gameplay. Which I would say is a great decision. This game cannot be beat in just a week either. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I love it. I would have payed 80 dollars for it.

I usaully don't get addicted to a game but I found myself playing this game into the late hours of the night and I was thinking all about it when not playing it. It has amazing gameplay and unlimited options. It is amazing

Flawed port of one of the greatest games ever made.

Deus Ex: The Conspiracy for the PS2 is all in all a terrible game. It brings shame to the great PC version.

The Good: Cool storyline, RPG elements allow you to mold character however you want, nice training.

The Bad!: Worst graphics I've ever seen on PS2, arguably, the ugliest PS2 game ever made. Controls are incredibly awkward and difficult to learn. No new features added to the PS2 version. Changing weapons requires going back to the menu every time. Some minor elements from PC version were removed (like being able to choose your characters face). Looks like a first generation PS1 game rather than a mid generation PS2 game. Game is difficult to get into without mouse and keyboard. Characters facial movements are never in sync with speech. Horrible slowdown.

Ultimately, the PS2 version of Deus Ex is one of the worst ports ever made. The graphics are nauseatingly bad for a PS2 game. Graphics definitely aren't everything in a game (Just ask me I play SNES RPG's all the time and I think they're the best ever made), but there is no excuse for employing such an outdated graphics engine. The developers had plenty of time to fix up the graphics, address the slowdown, add some new features, and give PS2 owners a taste of what Deus Ex is all about. It's simply a shame that they ruined a game that had so much potential.
